Incredible food, service and atmosphere! We cannot recommend this place enough. We ordered the burger and the fish and chips…. Best in Chatham! Cooked perfectly and served with a smile. It is rare you meet service staff who are happy to take your order. Thank you for such a great dining experience, we will be back.

Had the best beef pie and chips in my whole life, no grissle, beef melts in your mouth. Amazing pink onion vinegar to die for, and the spicy scotch bonnet sauce is out of this world. What they have is passion, great service and great ideas, look our for lemonade batter on the fish and chips with skins on. Will definately go back again when I visit my sister again 10 out of 10.

I went to CodMate recently after work on a Friday evening, I am a bit of a local foodie fan and browsed their website earlier in the week, I was impressed with their offerings, being an avid environmentalist it was great to see responsibly sourced Icelandic Fish available, skin on chips? (now that’s different). Kent based Korkers Sausages, locally made pies and so much more, supporting local produce, wonderful. Now oddly enough I am not reviewing their fish or local produce delights. I was greeted by the exceptionally friendly Kamil, who showed me to a table of my choice then went and prepared a hot beverage for me. I browsed the in premise menu and was drawn to one of their “All day breakfast” offerings, which Kamil explained were proving to be very popular at any time of the day. Sold – so for the next 45 minutes I had the most mouth-watering, flavourful, delectable “Full English” with a bowl of chips, local sourced sausages, literally 100% beef, burger, and all the trimmings. I was so full afterwards. So this review is not about the Fish or other offerings this time, that friends will be very soon. Thanks Kamil & your assistant, you made me very welcome and hungriness more than satisfied.

Cod Mate is an exceptional restaurant, which is under new management. The food is amazing, high quality, they do amazing burgers! The chips which are skin on, are chips that are freshly cut up and triple cooked, take a bit longer but well worth it. I had a fish burger that was amazing. It is a place that uses local produce, it doesn't use any additives and line caught cod. It does home made sauces, which taste lovely. It is like a higher class food without the cost. Exceptional service and staff, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Very friendly reception and helpful service throughout . Set places were clean, well lit if a little cramped. Menu choice was very good and very reasonably priced. Pensioners Fish and chips were more than adequate and well presented. Take away available next to the restaurant area. Only comment, which was passed on at the time, was that the fish batter was could have been a little more crispy, however the fish was moist and flavoursome. Excellent value for money and great service makes this new venture WELL WORTH A VISIT.
