Scalini Fedeli

I’ve been hearing good things about Scalini Fedeli for a few years now, so when my wife and I finally got a babysitter for a night we decided to try it for the first time. The first impression we got was just how incredibly charming the restaurant is. Kinda like upscale farmhouse chic. We were early for our reservation so the hostess politely informed us our table wasn’t quite ready and offered us a glass of Prosecco. When we were seated in the dining room we were immediately impressed by the curved vaulted ceilings and large columns that sort of broke the room up into smaller sections. Overall very cozy and comfortable feel. The service was very prompt and very accommodating. We got the feeling that everyone truly wanted us to enjoy our experience. The food was excellent but perhaps had a couple imperfections: for example my pappardelle with ossobucco and marrow jus was utterly dominated by an overwhelming flavor of rosemary. And my duck breast was good, but I’m not quite sure I would order it again. The star of our show was my wife’s linguini carbonara. Simple, classic (American style: with cream instead of egg yolk) but silky, savory and exactly what you want when you order carbonara. We added a course that I loved as well: butternut squash agnolotti in brown butter and sage. Decadent. And the “primi piccolo” (kind of like an amuse bouche) was excellent as well. Overall Scalini Fedeli comes in at 4.75 stars due to some nit-picking on my part (at a restaurant of this caliber the server should crumb the table in between courses) but we had an excellent experience and a fantastic date night.

Great Sat night dinner destination. Dress up desired, great date night place. We do family events there. Pricey but BYOB makes it better! Try the lobster linguini dish, fabulous! TRUFFLE RAVIOLI AS an appetizer! Staff is quiet and professional. Make reservations a week ahead. Flaw is its crammed table to table but the ambiance is nice.

We had dinner here and loved it. (family of 4 - 2 10 year old girls). The food was excellent and even though they have a menu that can accommodate kids, our kids ordered from the regular menu. We all had different dishes and everyone loved the food. Also, the service was excellent. We will return for sure.
