The food here is delicious. First time here, we sat outside. We made reservations, so when we arrived I explained I had a reservation. She did not ask name, but sat us right away. Took our drink order quickly. We had to get her attention to place our order 25min later. Once food was brought, they never checked if everything was OK and couldn't order more drinks. Just got check and left. BUT THE FOOD WAS REALLY GOOD. I would still go back.

Amazing Thai food!! We're visiting Charlottesville, went for lunch, loved everything we ordered, fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The service is great, too. Highly recommend!!

Truly above any other Thai food you’d find in Charlottesville! The Thai curry was bold and flavorful and much more than I expected; I highly recommend. I love the young green pepper that they add with many of their dishes, it adds something that you didn’t know you was missing. We did take-out and didn’t feel that we suffered in the experience at all. Though I haven’t tried many, their cocktails list is interesting.

This is my third time dining with Monsoon Siam. It is a beautiful restaurant with a cozy, warm dining room and a gorgeous dining patio. I have had the Massaman curry, pineapple fried rice, and beef pad Thai. The curry is consistently delicious with succulent chicken thigh, golden potatoes, and tomatoes that explode in your mouth with flavor. The pad Thai is fairly typical, although of higher quality. The pineapple fried rice is delicious, but each time I've eaten it there has been less and less pineapple, making a signature dish a letdown. The cleanliness and decor are both excellent. Bathroom cleanliness is 10/10 and it has a really cool sink. Would absolutely recommend, but ask for extra pineapple.

One of the best Thai places I’ve eaten at! Amazing ambiance and a great selection to satisfy everyone.

Food and facilities were great (basically a house converted to restaurant). Has outdoor seating with some heaters.
Papaya salad was nice and light. Curry was tasty too. Crunchy spring rolls looked popular and many tables ordered.

Very authentic Thai food. I used to visit Bkk every summer before Covid and I really enjoyed my dinner here last time I visited UVA over the weekend.

I have enjoyed Monsoon Thai in the past. I visited with my wife for dinner and was disappointed this time. The servers were very polite even though very busy. I had the Andaman Noodle dish. This contains seafood including scallops, squid, mussels, and shrimp. The sauce was okay - basically one of their curry sauces laid on the noodles and seafood.
The seafood was not that good. There are ways to cook each type of seafood to be appealing, or rubbery. These were all rubbery. I chewed on the squid for two minutes and couldn't break it down (used my napkin to hide it). The scallops were bland, overcooked, and really tasted like they were boiled or sauteed in water (or reheated from a hot bin).
The dish featured egg also, but I only had a few scraps of scrambled egg in it. A full egg in the dish or on top would have been nice.
They seem to be struggling, and I hope they get back on track.
