NOW LULU'S CHICKEN AND FISH
It was late and I was hungry. I looked up 24hr restaurants and Lulu's popped up. I had never heard of it and was surprised that it was right here on the Westside. There is a small parking lot, but it wasn't crowded when I got there. I was greeted by the owner Jay, and told that there was a limited menu. He just had a busy day, but there were enough items left for me to choose from. I selected chicken wings, lake trout, collards, cabbage, cornbread and fries. The drinks and desserts were sold out. I also had some of his homemade sauce.
The food was hot and delicious! The fish was seasoned and cooked just right. The wings were tasty, they could have used more spice but it might have made it salty. The collards were on point and so was the cabbage. Cornbread was sweet,fluffy and I had it for dessert. The fries were also good, not too greasy.
I will try this spot again, next time I will go earlier so I can try some of the other items reviewers are raving about. I would have given it a 5 but without the entire menu available I had to hold back a point.

This restaurant reopened recently after a major design overhaul and a change of ownership. If you're expecting your usual Chinese tastes in these dishes, think again. It's essentially the same dishes you may be used to at your run of the mill Chinese restaurant but tastes different, IN A GOOD WAY! You'll just have to try it yourself to see what I mean. The hibachi portions are generous. The wings are flavorful! They also have burgers and tacos in addition to the usual Chinese fare. They only lost one star for giving me mushrooms in my hibachi when I requested they not be included. I did come right before close and they're still new, so outs forgiven. Give the new Hong Phat a chance. Just remember, this is no longer Mrs. Lee's place or menu, and that's not a bad thing at all.

I've refused to eat Chinese food ...UNTIL NOW!!! OMG!! Delicious food, variety of fresh choices. Cool refreshing ice teas and 6 different flavors of lemonade!! I'm so glad I discovered this lil gem!! So much flavor coming out of that kitchen 💞💞🤗🤗

As a Charlotte native, I feel very inclined to leave a review. I ate at (the original) Hong Phat for at least 20 years and let me tell you Hong Phat Deli DID NOT disappoint!!! I ordered 12 wings and fries (which the fries came in a separate container, unlike Ms Lee used to put in the same box) and I paid $15 and I can assure you 2 people could have eaten easily!! The vibe of the restaurant is awesome! We can now see what's happening in the back lol nice music, clean, open and bright and everyone was very pleasant! My ONLY complaint is I got blue cheese dressing and I asked for ranch and the dressing is 50 cents but I lose 50 cents in my car so I'm not complaining. Didn't really need the ranch anyway! 5 Stars from me!! Way to put a nice modern feel on an old Charlotte establishment!! I WILL BE BACK!!!!!

From out of town and it’s been hard to find good Asian food. Luckily today that problem has been solved! Hong Phat really knows what they’re doing! The hibachi chicken was full of flavor and they give you A LOT. The Hong phat steak fries were great as well. My buddy also had their wings and the Hong Phat sauce is top notch. The location is out of the way for some people, but trust me it is well worth the trip! Get over there and support a great local business with great food!

I ABSOLUTELY loved this place! My family and I drove from Florence, SC for the experience because we heard word of mouth how good it was. The menu is exotic! I had their "Phat Phat Shrimp" Fries which had shrimp, cheese, sour cream in it as well as an order of wings. I also ordered lemonade that was DELICIOUS! The staff was very friendly too! The place has a clean interior and eccentric designs.
There's also a video game machine there! We definitely enjoyed myself in this black-owned asian restaurant ! I highly recommend!

First they have good marketing i saw them on Instagram! I live not to far so we decided to check them out! First impression wow look at my people, I love going into a business and seeing hard working black PEOPLE! Next the food was fresh and delicious I had no complaints. The chicken and fries wasn’t oily,the presentation of the food was neat and the price was affordable.

Food is always on point! Worth every penny. If you're not from Charlotte, you need to try this.
I recommend the wings and rice. Get the wings HOT with extra sauce and fried hard.

I had the (2) 12 piece wings and veggie fried rice with the red/purple lemonade (best so far) and tea . The wings was still hot from 4:15pm to 5:45. They also separate your food like my wings , I had was 6 honey wings/ 6 Hong phat spicy wings, and 6 Hong phat wings /6 fried wings. All separated 4 ways

Love this place! If u want some good wings, check them out. The lemon pepper and Hong phat wings are my favorite. They now have a lobster menu and I recently tried the lobster tacos... Amazing!!!

Ok my review is based off of 3 visits. The first visit was ok and not that great but the restaurant had just opened a few weeks before my visit so I gave them a pass. I ordered the shrimp and chicken hibachi they give a nice amount of food but the rice was very bland and from looking at other reviews other people experienced the same thing. Well I went back for a second visit and I ordered the shrimp salad with an order of fries and I put my fries on my salad. I know some of you are like WTH but it's a Pittsburgh thing. Don't knock it till u try it but needless to say the salad was great way better than the meal I got on my first visit. For my 3rd visit I got the Phat Phat fries with chicken and shrimp, that was the winner. I'm glad I didn't write this place off after the first visit. If your in the area give them a shot the have some great juices also.
