Review The Goodyear House - Charlotte

I really loved the vibe here. Service from Kristen was great! The menu items were all small plates and very unique. The food wasn't very warm when served. The fry bag with garlic parmesan was good but would've been better if hot. The golden chicken was a bit dry, but the sauce was great. The al pastor wings were tasty. Our favorite was the crispy rice balls. Definitely, a bit overpriced. A very cute place with a fun vibe.

The atmosphere is super cute and our waitress was great. We got bread for the table and their butter was so good: herbs and honey. Then we got the crispy rice balls. Those were awesome. The bacon inside is smoked and the sauce on it was great. The cashew Mac and cheese is great too. I heard the Trout is really good and popular so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I was pretty nauseous trying to eat it. It was in a puddle of oil and just made it heavy, but since it was $33, I was making myself eat it. Not worth the $33 for me at least. Everything else was great.

Excellent food options. While visiting Charlotte north Carolina.. we wanted to go to haberdish.. but the wait was for over 1 1/2 hours. We proceeded to walk around to see other options in the NODA area. We found the Goodyear house. Looked at the menu and decided to try. We were amazed as we were escorted to the green house. Several tents 🏕️ were set up to allow private dining. It was so cute.. look at the pictures. Decorated with a holiday theme. We were seated in the greenhouse at picnic tables. Very comfortable. Waitress Christine was extremely helpful as we chose our food items. Serving side is huge. We ordered: French fries 🍟 which were air fried, very fresh and came in a bag with a side of Parma cheese 🧀 so we can sprinkle in the bag. Delicious!!! Chicken wings… very good House salad… large portions for sharing. Candied carrots!! What a treat!! Burger and fries!! Mac and cheese 🧀.. very good. Trout 🐠- prepared with plenty of seasoning and had almonds sprinkled on top. Yum. Pork schnitzel— very tasty! And many other items.

This place is beautiful inside and out. At first you might not expect it to be a restaurant because it looks a bit like a house on the outside, but once you enter you’ll be sucked into the beauty. We sat outside in the back and were enchanted by their wonderful yard. We started with the Crispy Rice Balls which had a wonderful crispy crunch with each bit but were juxtaposed by the soft creamy rice on the interior. The balls were coated in cheese sitting on top a semi spicy marinara sauce. We followed up with the Tomato and Cucumber salad, Smoked Cashew Mac, Golden Chicken, and the Shaken Bag Fry (we asked the waitress to surprise us with the flavor and were delighted by Togarashi seasoning, plus it was really fun to shake). Everything was phenomenal, unique flavor blends and cooked with the finest detail. We were surprised by the Mac and Cheese because it’s vegan, doesn’t taste like traditional Mac and Cheese but has its own personality that you just need to meet. The star of the show was the Golden Chicken. Crispy yet moist, sitting on a dill yoghurt sauce, with a perfect blend of seasoning, you need to try this. We topped off our meals with the Blueberry Lemon Poppy Seed Pavlova. It had a crispy merengue outer coat with a light airy cream drizzled with blueberry syrup and lemon poppyseed cake cubes. Overall an amazing place to enjoy the atmosphere, the food and the company.

Everything GOOD you hear about The Goodyear House is true! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and warmth. First impressions truly are everything! The decor is rustic but with sort of an Anthropologie type of vibe. We were seated in a dining area where the glass garage doors roll up- with a view of what has been designed to be a courtyard with more seating- perfection! Our server Nathan was superb! We have met countless servers in our lifetime; however, there was a unique aspect to the way he engaged with us and other guests. You can see how much he strives to do his best and make sure you have the most wonderful experience. I will request him the next time I come in. We also had the privilege to meet Gus, one of the managers, such a friendly & courteous man. He told us about the local ingredients they source for their restaurant and how they do seasonal menu items. We ordered the marinated shrimp, the beef tartare, chopped wedge, and a double stack goopy burger. For dessert: we ordered both the Pavlova and the Brownie Sundae because it is hard to choose just one. The raspberry balsamic ice cream is churned on site. I mean how often do you hear them say they are churning the ice cream right now for your dessert? It was also our first time having a pistachio oat crumb and it was amazing! Will have to come back and try more of the menu. Our first impression of The Goodyear House was outstanding. Looking forward to our next visit.

Waited too long to come here. Great atmosphere being inside or outside. TVs and bars all over. The drinks were great and so was the food. Will be back again to continue trying their dishes. Service was also good.

Went here for our anniversary. This is a great place to get small dishes and share. Audrey our server had great recommendations. Everything was good. Our second time here. We will be back.

Seriously, what a lovely experience! Our server was amazing, and I wish I could remember his name. Every bit of our food was delicious! The brownie with the vanilla( with raspberry folded in?) Ice cream was superb. You definitely have to get the fry bag to start with! 100% would recommend!

Me and my boyfriend went to eat here for my birthday, our server was Logan and he was absolutely wonderful. He was so knowledgeable about the menu and every part of it. I can’t say enough good things about this place. The atmosphere is beautiful, there is indoor and outdoor seating and the food was delicious.

Good food and a great atmosphere. Our waiter was really cool and easy to talk to. We went on a weeknight and it was really laid back. All the outdoor seating seems great. Definitely my type of place to grab a bite and get a drink. I like the fact they have two bars. I assume they have the second bar open on the weekends. Their phone line was not work and had a full voicemail so there was no way to contact them ahead of time. Hopefully they get that sorted out. Could have been a google maps issue.

Went there for my friend's birthday celebration. All the food is excellent. The service is very good.

Great service, interesting but overpriced drinks, limited selection food. I was excited for the leg of lamb, but it was just ok,esp for the price. Burger was very overpriced for how common it was. RICE BALLS were the best part of the dinner.

First timer and I went here for my birthday. I have no cons! All pros! -Great Atmosphere -Food Taste 10/10 -Waiter 10/10 -Food came quickly -Drinks 11/10 **Can add a floater to your Froze! Would happily go again!

The only issue I have with Goodyear House is that there isn’t a location in NYC. My boyfriend and I stayed in Charlotte for a week and this was the best meal we had by far. It might be the best meal I EVER had. The golden chicken was perfectly cooked. The spiced leg of lamb was like my favorite halal guy went Michelin Star. I am still thinking about how delicious everything was. Jesse, our server, was a true gem, so helpful, made great recommendations. Will absolutely be back when we head to Charlotte again!

The atmosphere here is wonderful!! There are tons of seats available both inside and out. Nice bathrooms. Great service. I tried several snacks including the egg salad toast, the rice balls, and the bread. The egg salad toast by far for the entire table was the winner. Followed probably by the bread than the rice balls. I had the steak for my meal which had a bordelaise sauce with mushrooms. It was a very tender steak with a good taste. I also tried the kimchi pasta dish and the chicken. The pasta was actually quite delicious as was the chicken. If I were to try any one of these three dishes again I would probably get the chicken. We tried the chocolate brownie with raspberry ice cream which was pretty fantastic. Cooked nicely and the ice cream was a wonderful taste. Our server was great. Very animated and knowledgeable about the menu. The only complaint I would have had about him was that he didn't do a great job at busing the table when we were finished with courses. All in all I did not feel like the food here was is over the top as I was expecting it to be. It was good, everything was good but nothing was the best I had ever had. The real winner here is the atmosphere and they do have great wine and cocktails too. I had a lovely Italian wine and a jalapeno Paloma. Both of them were fantastic.

This place has a nice vibe! It is a great date night place to go. You have the option of sitting indoors or outdoors. The food was fabulous! The vegan mac'n cheese was over the top. Also, the hummus dish is the best I've ever had!

Wow… like dining in a best friends backyard who happens to be an incredible chef. Service was outstanding. Vibes were outstanding. But the food was unbelievable. The “Golden Chicken” was literally out of this world, a symphony of flavors
