After I spent $50 on DoorDash to get two plates a ribs they arrived a hour and 20 minutes late for me and my son to eat for dinner they were so tough I couldn’t even rip it when I did ripping apart I realized it was still paying I don’t even think they cooked it but it was burnt on the outside. DoorDash only gave me back $13 in credit is crazy because now me and my son I have to go out to get some food instead after waiting an hour and a half for some raw ribs. Then they sent me loaded mashed potatoes I don’t even eat loaded mashed potatoes it wasn’t when I selected and this is the worst experience ever

It was a 20 minute wait to be seated on a Saturday night with most of the dining room empty. That should've been a sign of things to come.
We ordered bar drinks when we sat down, but they came an hour later, after we had eaten (and asked about them multiple times). We ordered boneless wings for our app, and they came quick, but there was no silverware or napkins, and no one around to get us any.
We were never checked on, and had to flag someone, anyone, to get an update on drinks.
All in all, the food was pretty decent and came out super fast, but the wait service was the worst imaginable.

1) We ordered a 2 for $25 and a free appetizer lunch special.
2) We waited 1 hour only for the waitress to come out and say that they had the hamburger but no buns😳🤦. So we didn't order something else because we didn't want something else.
3) We were then charged for the "free" appetizer because they couldn't accommodate our order.😥
4) I ordered a steak well done and it was a little red and chewy. I couldn't tolerate the chewy and just gave up on that steak and the fries were cool.
I'm mad at myself because, once they came out after an hour and said they could only satisfy one order I should have left.

Had to wait a while for our drinks. Had to ask another waitress for straws because our waiter disappeared. Waited again to order our appetizers. No silverware or napkins. Had to ask a completely different waitress for those. Half way through eating our appetizers, I told the waiter, as he passed us by for the third time with empty drink cups on our table, that we were ready to order our mains and would like a refill. 20 minutes later, we finally got the refill and ordered the main dishes. 5 minutes later he comes to the table and says the kitchen is closed for the evening. What!?!? Would've been nice to have been told the kitchen closed at a certain time when we got there. Never going to this location again. It's terrible. Appetizers were mediocre at best. Tasted like everything was reheated in the microwave.

We had a great time. Our waiter with the locks (forgot his name..sorry..) did an awesome job! He got all of our orders right, split up the checks without confusion or mistakes. He was friendly and kept us updated on the timing of our orders. The kitchen was closed but he took it upon himself to make sure one of our burgers were made the way we wanted. He even stayed with us while we sang happy birthday to my mother in law..it wasn't too packed and the wait wasn't long for a table. Havnt had this type of service at a restaurant since covid..greatly appreciated!

I'm giving two stars because my waitress truly tried... But let me tell you, drinks took 30 mins to arrive, food took another 30, apps came AFTER my meal, and our food was cold. But the dessert was on point. I know that they are so understaffed , and while we were there we heard one waitress arguing with another sand the cook walked out. I'm sure everyone is just overworked and overwhelmed. I left my waitress a good tip it is what it is. The only place not understaffed these days in the Chinese Restaurant 🤷🏽♀️

We were their for about 6 hours because they messed up our order plus they told us our waitress was helping others so ask the lady who seat people for assistance. It normally takes us about 2 hours and we are out. But when we had a waitress she was good. Plus it took forever to get our food. Then had to be sent back because it was burnt. By the time we got it back, everyone else ate and it was time to go. Then the check was wrong after waiting 30 minutes after asking for it. It just wasn't good. They tried to give us a discount which was a good gesture. But after many complaints the manager didn't charge us.

Friends took us to this spot on 1/27/18. The place looked empty, but we were told it would be a 25 minute wait for a table. We arrived close to 3:30 pm. Things just took forever. Food didn’t come until 5:35! The wasn’t even hot as it arrived. Do not recommend the place!

The service really and truly sucks here on a Friday night. There needs to be some type of training on customer service and attention at the bar. It sucks!

#264. [10-Sep-15] :-<br/><br/>Visited Applebee's with friends after coming back from Lake Norman, I have ordered their signature Bourbon Street Steak, along with onion rings & Mango Lemonade. My friends ordered Bourbon street shrimp & chicken, Kickin Turkey Stacker & lemonades.<br/><br/>Steak was awesome, cooked perfectly & served with sauteed onions, mushrooms & crispy red potatoes. Onion rings was huge, crunchy. Crust was very thick, thin layers would have better. Mango lemonade was good & they refilled as well. My friends chicken & shrimp was not great & turkey stacker was good. <br/><br/>I have enjoyed the steak at Applebee's. Decently priced & slow service though.

Sunday breakfast service is terrible. Although our food has been "OK", the service here is awful...we have been here twice after church and each time it took an hour to get our food orders to the table. (No choice of toast offered for breakfast items, and no jelly on the table.) Either they need to figure out their staffing or get the kithchen organized. We'd like to support University Place but this is ridiculous.

Worst Service Ever. On August 2, 2013 after getting to Charlotte late that evening and most restaurants were closed went to this Apple bee's restaurant where it took me and my family 20 minutes to be seated and an hour to get my wife and grand children's food and they sent me the wrong thing that i did not order, then took another 40 minutes to bring out some of the worst looking food i have ever seen, BURNT STEAK WITH NO FLAVOR. After we got back to our room (about 1am) i look up the restaurant online and saw that had i looked at the reviews i would have never gone there and went to Wal- Mart to get some luncheon meat and bread. I pays to be informed but after we (my wife) got a chance to speak to the manager we left there not paying one dime as noone should after service like that.

Mother's day-disgust!!. Thought I was going to grab a mothers day lunch with my daughter at the Applebee's in the Univeristy area..and to my disgust..worst meal ever!! My initial plate of ribs where so tough the steak knife could not cut them..they tasted even worst..my broccoli was cold(sad face). My casears salad was OLD..real OLD. They brought out a super sized casear salad that looked 5% better than the initial one I sent back. Didn't eat that one either.<br/>I kept my receipts..jus in case I get sick later.<br/><br/>Two managers came over at two different times inquiring about my food and attempted to make it better. I told them it was alright and it was something to eat at the moment. NO BEUNO!!!!<br/><br/>I will NEVER at this Applebee's again and suggest you do the same.

DO NOT GO HERE UNLES YOU ENJOY FILTH!!! I am a big fan of Applebee's. This particular location was somthing I have never experience . It was DIRTY food was harden on the knives it took me 4 knives to find a clean one. The floor was dirty the tables were dirty. Just an over all bad experience!

TERRIBLE!!!! Twice iv been in, place is 40% full and it takes them 10 mins to seat us, then after being seated a watress never comes, even after waiting 10 mins and asking for one, so 30 min waste n left, TWICE!!!!!

Sliders are the only safe bet. Ive tried others food when i went but sliders are the only thing i can get my self to order not one of the best locations but usually treated alright because my wifes parents are regulars not my favorite place to eat

Its not so much the food its Appplebee's...but the majority of the servers and host staff are just rude and unprofessional plain and simple

Very Nice. My father and i dined there while visitng Charlotte. Our waitress was very very good and i wish i could remember her name. We dined in on Dec.ss around 8:30 pm. She was probably in her 20's with medium lungth dark blond hair. We ordered the Dynamite Shrimp as an appetizer. On a one to ten I give them a 9.5....I had the 3 cheese penne with chicken...once again a 9.5...service 9.5 ...my Dad had the Asian Ribs...he gave them a 9...said they were the second best ribs he has ever had in 60 years...wouldve gotten a 10 if the bottom wasnt a little overly charbroiled. I usually dont dine at to many chain restaurants but this experience would definately take me back to this Applebees. Good atmosphere. Only complaint...we had to stand at the front to be seated for 5-7 minutes and they werent that busy. other than that, excellent...worth the money....

Unable to find anything on the menu that wasn't fried or otherwise diet busting, I asked for a garden salad. The salad had a thin layer of fresher lettuce covering frozen inedible lettuce and garnished with five old grape tomatoes, one of which had a large circle of mold clearly visible when the salad was served. The waiter apologized, but still charged me for the salad most of which was inedible.
