Piece A Pizza

A very unique place! We were coming down to shop in a market for Mediterranean foods, and we did a pitstop to walk in uptown for a bit. My husband noticed a few people coming out of Latta arcade so we were curious and walked in. This reminds me of the arcade up in Asheville and it’s also a historical building. My husband picked up some pizza from “pie in the sky” just to snack on and I noticed several businesses in Latta Arcade that I’d like to visit the next time I am in the area. To experience a bit of history, support some local business-this is a great place to stop by the next time you’re in uptown. Have a look at my other reviews. Whew!!! The beans and rice were KILLER!!!! I had the spinach empanada - made from scratch and heated in an oven right in front of your face rather than deep fried. It was delicious. I could have eaten 15 of them!!!! The crust was perfect, not too thick or heavy, just enough to hold the contents and very soft and chewy. Much cleaner than other empanadas I've had. Great customer service; very friendly. Neat watching a woman in the front window actually making empanadas on a table. Delicious and inexpensive and satisfying. Wish there were more vegetarian options, but I certainly enjoyed the ones I tried.

Good: Not too crowded. The wait was short. Downtown view from this rooftop bar was nice. Odd-but-okay: Veuve Clicquot signage abounded, and no visible explanation. Not-so-good: Speakers were almost everywhere, making it hard to have a conversation with four people. No cocktail waitress ever asked us about refills.
