What a find!!!!!! I stumbled across this adorable shop when I saw it next to a Harris Teeter in Matthews, NC. If you have never had a shaved ice, this is the place to try it without spending thousands of $$ to go to Hawaii. It exceeded my expectations and the ambience, comfort and hospitality....so reminded me of my childhood in Hawaii. Shaved ice is a very finely ground ice treat with the flavors and toppings of your choice. Of course, the flavors were incredible and too many to pick from. You can pick up to 3 flavors on your "ice" and I had lilikoi (passionfruit) with pina colada, green apple and pineapple. It was delicious and I almost became emotional eating it. Even though, I am able to Hawaii frequently, this is a little taste of my "former home".
You will love the funky, eclectic atmosphere. Lots of seats, tables, couches, books, board games to relax with that great snack and they also have Kona coffee if you so desire. They also have tons of candies, Hawaiian gifts and candy to buy.
The prices are very reasonable, service is extremely friendly and there is something for everyone. I would have loved Hawaiian music or even Jake Owen singing "Mele Kalikimaka" while eating that excellent "shave ice" as they call it in Hawaii.
It so reminded me of the Haleiwa General Store on the North Shore of Oahu. Very famous spot for years and where President Obama always took his kids for the famous treats.
I sure hope that Charlotte finds this place and enjoys it as much as I did. Thanks for the superb throwback to my happy years in Honolulu.
The service is great. The owner stayed open so my mother, two nephews and I could get coffee and three cups of shaved ice. My nephews were nearly silent as they dug into their cups of multi-flavored shaved ice. I am excited to have a good coffee shop near the house. They buy local coffee and espresso. Definitely a must visit.
Family owned business. Very sweet people. With a purchase you can get free flowers with your coffee. I get a latte with almond milk. Cute atmosphere. I have seen both families and college students hang out here. They have board games too, if you care to stay around and relax. I live in the area and I go there on the weekends when I can. You can sit outside too.
Such a delight! This gem of a shop is a must stop. The shop sweeps you away to a Hawaiian paradise. The enthusiasm of the owner shines through with the quality service and excellent treats. The truly Kona Shave Ice is offered with many flavor selections. The staff takes the time to share their thoughts on the flavors and lets you sample to make sure you make the perfect selection. A wonderful carnival of flavors and toppings. You will never run out of flavor combinations!
Stop by and enjoy this shop. The prices are very reasonable for the superb size and experience.

This is such a great, local, unique place. Perfect for a fun dessert after dinner at New Zealand Cafe or a great place to bring the kids. I do not like snow cones, but tried shaved ice and loved it! It is delicious and refreshing. The owner truly loves what she does and is willing to give you FREE samples of various flavors. Young children are FREE, icy dog treats are FREE, when you buy 5 items the 6th one is FREE, and veterans, police, and firemen can get a treat for FREE. The prices are very reasonable and the product is excellent!

Really chill vibe, good cold coffee drinks and while you wait you can play a bunch of board games available to you for free. I love that it’s a small family owned and family friendly.
My first time tasting the shaved ice. I loved it with lots of flavors. Great place for family and kids. They have game nights, where kids play Checkers, Chess and other stuffs for smaller kids. Great experience. . Thanks Robyn.

This place is awesome! The drinks and shaved ice (dye free options even) were delicious. Love supporting small businesses. Welcoming and fun atmosphere with so many games to play. Family friendly and my kids love discovering new games. Highly recommend.
