Grabbed dinner to go.Service was quick, food was really good. I had been craving tamales since last week and came across this restaurant on a web search. It had nice reviews, so I stopped in after work. The parking lot is small but free of litter. The inside is much larger than it seems looking from the sidewalk. The lady taking my order was nice. I would eat here again and more likely than not dine in for lunch. I ordered the special, 3 tamales, rice and beans $8
My new favorite spot in Plaza Midwood! The tamales are the best I've ever had in Charlotte! The owners are super sweet, and I can't wait to go back for more delicious food!
I came here for the tamales but also tried some of their tacos and a mango agua fresca. The tamales de pollo en salsa roja was phenomenal and you can't beat the price of $2 / tamales. I had been on a bad run with tamales so it was nice to find a place that is doing it right. The masa was cooked perfectly and you can tell that they are pulling the chicken by hand. The tacos were also great and the mango agua fresca was super refreshing. I'd happily come back here again and indulge myself in their delicious tamales.
Do not judge this book by it’s cover! What it lacks in atmosphere it more than makes up with what it delivers. Delicious food and excellent service. Highly recommend their tamales and homemade drinks!
This place may not look at beautiful on the out side, However the food is delicious and 10000% authentic! I have been coming to this restaurant for years and it is the BEST in Charlotte!
