We had a great dinner on the back patio on a Saturday night. This felt like the “hole in the wall” type of place and we really enjoyed it. The Pollo Crema was the best dish that we had at our table. $14 margarita pitchers. We will be back!
OK, so I’m going to be honest. I walk by La Authenica every day on Central. Looks like it’s closed, but I ended up going to The Refuge for a drink and found out that its not only open, but it’s a happening place. There were 1 million people back there. They had an amazing indoor and outdoor space. The staff are amazing and incredible. My friend and I sat at the bar and Eli the bartender took such amazing care of us. They’ve these beautiful amazing, huge margaritas. Apparently on Tuesday they have two dollar tacos. I am definitely, positively going back here!!!!
*FIRST OFF: Great food ONLY! No complaints about the food hot, delicious, fulfilling & flavorful! We had an Variety of dishes.
*Service couple of words(not good): straight attitude, felt unwanted 😒, late deliever with food (still hot), she act entitled, and deserving & too busy flirting with bust boy and playing in his hair. Her attention was more towards customers of other races and guys only table she could flirt with.
***THIS RESPECTFUL Family (prior restaurant workers) tip unless u treat us like second hand..***
* I have eaten here before to go only and have had a great experience with the staff with no issues.
* It's something I'd didn't want to say but some... not all of the staff show their personnel bias toward other nationalities.
* No this did not kill our family dinner night but it has also shown us were we will not feel welcomed to come too if your not of a certain race or gender.
I always enjoy this place. Great drinks! And awesome service. The bartenders are really friendly.
Food was great this week, we normally order the specialties. I just need to learn to eat less. Our 5th time there, food has varied a little but generally really good. Service is "variable ", but loved the pay by QR code on the bill.
Food was Mexican, which is always good unless frozen. It felt like a Mexican restaurant that would be in Mexico except a little cleaner. The service was on the slower side. I think it took about 35 minutes to get our food, and the restaurant only had a few tables seated. Friends that were there an hour earlier said it was much faster for them though
The burrito I ordered was quite tasty. Would have preferred more guac & sour cream. A little less lettuce maybe a slice more of tomato.
This is the best Authentic Mexican restaurant I've been too close to downtown Charlotte! We had Tacos and a pitcher margarita. The pitcher was great and tasted as if there was no alcohol. It tasted great and got us nice and tipsy. The tacos were the best we've had. We've tried a lot of taco trucks and here you definitely won't be disappointed. They are reasonably priced and have a great staff! Will definitely come back for Taco Tuesday for $1 tacos
Local vibes, authentic tacos and budget food. It can be your go-to Taco Tuesday place. Green sauce with chips and chorizo tacos are my favorite.
First time visit, and I can see why it's so popular.. food was amazing BUT customer service was great. My friend and I had a great girl pow wow here...would definitely visit again!!
