First: this place is take out only. Don’t let that deter you though! I got the grilled chicken pita with rice and gravy. I walked in and it was ready in about 6 minutes. Food was great! I’m very pleased with the flavor and the quickness. Plus, it was so hot (temperature) that I had to wait for it to cool off to eat, which is just fine. Plenty of time to get back to the office/place and still have a great and fresh meal. Will return, very pleased.

I had the Grilled chicken cordon blue platter with mashed potato and mac-n-cheese. The food was fresh and hot when I picked it up. Great value for what we got and the place and kitchen looked clean, I could see into the kitchen from where I paid. Cute little place. Give it a chance...yelp reviews are also Great!!

Hands down the best "home style" food I have ever had in my life!!!! Collards are super tender and mashed potatoes are absolutely delicious!!! I had the meatloaf special and was not disappointed. Super friendly staff makes you feel right at home. This is a Charlotte staple and must try!!!!

Delicious! Ordered again tonight just to see if last night was a fluke. Both nights the food has been just phenomenal. Both times I've gotten the Big John burger with bacon, and a cucumber tomato marinated salad, both of which are just fantastic. I could eat these cucumbers and tomatoes all day. And the burger is so good! I had it delivered and the bun wasn't soggy or anything. The first time I had hushpuppies and the second time I got chili cheese fries. Both are great, although the hush puppies are definitely my favorite. Will definitely be making this one of my favorite places to frequent.

This is one of my favorite places. I usually order through Postmates but was driving by and decided to stop in. This is take out only, no sitting area, which is fine. The food is good and the service is quick. No long waits. They have a varied menu so you can find something for everyone.

First time ordering at this restaurant and first time using Postmates....let's just say 1, out of two isn't bad. Postmates driver did not deliver my full order, however, when I called the restaurant, they made it right and the food was good. I believe the lady name was Laura and she was awesome❣

2 Seafood Platters-, food was all very plain. No salt and pepper, or napkins and My Shrimp was soggy. It has always been perfect for the past 4 years. I think they were super busy and didn't fry the shrimp or fish all the way.

I ate at Oakhurst for the first time at lunch today & loved it so much I went back for dinner. I had the veg plate with greens, green beans, pintos (the best ever), hushpuppies, and a roll for around $5. My son had a kid's fried chicken plate with mac n cheese. Everything was great, like it was home-made. I will def eat here again

Great squash and more!. I worked close to Mr C's for many years and we got up an order about every day. My favorite meal was chicken livers. Have you ever gotten over-cooked livers that were bitter, tough and dry? Well, let me tell you, this place (Oakhurst Grill) makes the best juicy, succulent livers anywhere around. They've discovered the fine line between over-done and just-right. Whenever I wasn't in the mood for a big meal, the fried squash hit the spot every time. Not too thick and totally covered with crispy coating and big enough to share with others, too. My son works close to there now and after all these years, the Grill cooks up their lunches the very same way, 20 years later .Do yourself a favor and try it.

Oakhurst Grill used to be called Mr. C's... and for those of us that have been eating there since we were kids it's still programmed in our phones as "Mr. C's" :-)<br/><br/>This is a little place on Monroe Road that only does southern grandma style to-go service. They have burgers, fried chicken, vegetables, the best cucumber salad in the summertime, fried squash like Gus' USED to make...(If you're from here - you know what I mean!!)<br/>You call them, you place your order, and it's ready in 10 minutes. Boom Bam!...Out the door! The lady that answers the phone takes the order and I'm telling you... she's a-f#cking-mazing at her job... the woman has never ever gotten my order wrong... apparently it's her super power.?. they cook your order and it's big portions cooked like you're expecting, hot and fresh. Get a menu, take it home, program the number in your phone :-)
