Gus' Sir Beef Restaurant - Charlotte - Photo album

Consistently good food and service. I remember going there as a child, what a great memory. Southern fare. Had steak and gravy and a salad that was huge and delicious...the owner was sitting in a booth at lunch, very quaint place. Busy with a variety of customers.
Sorry to hear you guys are closing for good. I have fond memories of the place. My favorite chicken and dumplings with fried squash and a salad{to make it healthy). I went to High School with George and Thrace at East Meck. Good luck in whatever you do guys.
Man, I came in about 20min before closing after an appointment and they were AMAZING. I'm Nonverbal and they were SO patient with me. They didn't have the meal I wanted to get my mother in law so they told me the closest thing to it. The food was hot and fresh, portions were amazing. In the rush o
The building inside and outside could use some TLC. Other than that it's a great local diner. The new waitress was very attentive and friendly. The prices very reasonable. I'm not sure, but I think the owner/founder's son was the cook for our meal. He was also very nice and made you feel special. He
Delicious! Our friends and I tried this out on a Monday night and all the food was great. The fried squash is excellent and the fried chicken sandwich was really good. Everyone was really friendly and we will definitely be back. Enjoy!
I haven't been to Gus's in many years as I live about 45 minutes away. The food was outstanding, and the waitress was awesome. Their fried squash is the best. I will definitely come back! Thank you
How the hell have I lived in charlotte for almost 12 years and only tried this place for the first time last week?! The food here is absolutely delicious. It was so good last Tuesday, that we got to-go from here again today. Tuesday is my day because they have the mac n cheese on the menu. It's har
I want to thank the workers at Gus's. The service and atmosphere was great. I hadn't been to the restaurant in about 20 years. The food was as wonderful as it was back then. Thank you for staying your course and serving down home food.
OK - the building needs some maintenance badly (so bad, that my kids won't go eat there with me any more) - but the FOOD... the FOOD - this is THE BAR for home cooking food. Favorites are Beet Tips over rice, chicken & dumplings, roast beef, mashed potatoes, fried squash. Food is so good that even t
We have wanted to go here forever, we finally did the food was good and reasonably priced. The staff was super friendly. The building is in poor shape, but if you can get past that then I would say go for it.
Why is it whenever I Discover a Great Restaurant I want to check out, they are Closing?! I mean you had me at Chicken Livers, and now I can't try them...
Excellent food excellent service. If you're new to Charlotte do not let the building fool you. I was talking with the owner today he is second generation trying to get the building back in Tip-Top shape, butt, the new people moving to Charlotte, don't know how good the food and hospitality is. Ther
Been going to Gus's since I was a young child! Always ordered the fried chicken (made fresh) with the banana pudding (delicious/ available as a side!) and fried squash (their specialty/ Farm Fresh/ also available as a side). Just went there on Saturday and it's delicious! It's a very old place but t
I'm sure part of the review is sentiment since I have been going here since I was about 10 years old, but their stuffed chicken is still amazing and the fried squash is the best in Charlotte. I wish they could fix up the place a bit, and an actual affordable lunch menu would be great.
We tried Gus's with some friends for the first time tonight and couldn't have been happier with our decision. The nostalgia mixed with well executed classics and fresh veggies will no doubt have us visiting again soon!
