This is a really good neighborhood bar. We came for a weekend trip to Charlotte and came here twice. Once on Friday afternoon where it was very chill and not busy. We sat outside for about 3 hours. The outside seating was great, our server was attentive, and the area is pretty quiet for a nice afternoon beer.
On the complete opposite side, we also came for Sunday football. It was PACKED. Even though we arrived 30 min before the start time of any game it was standing room only. If you need to find parking because the Ed’s lot is only medium sized you can go to the food lion and park in the back row, they generally don’t care. The dry cleaning lady will yell at you and force you to move. Every TV is labeled with the game it’s playing. Our server was super attentive, especially considering the amount of people. They even had bud light specials going on.
Food wise I tried the Philly cheese steak egg rolls which were surprisingly good. I stuck with diet cokes but my husband REALLY loved the seasonal “gordgeous” pumpkin beer. Also side note that the women’s bathrooms were very clean and not dingy or grungy at all. A definite plus for a bar!
Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. It does get super loud on Sunday so if that’s not your vibe, come on a different day.
I was in Charlotte for work & visiting with my cousin Paddy who lives here in Charlotte. He said it’s been years since he’d been to Ed’s Tavern and said they had great burgers & even better wings. We sat at a booth. Erin was our server & she’s a rock star. Friendly, knowledgeable, super efficient, professional and anticipated anything we might need. Erin recommended a beer for both me and my cousin & she nailed it, we were both very happy with the choice. We decided to start off with 20 wings & again asked for Erin’s advice. She recommended 10 of the sweet chili & 10 of the garlic Parmesan & we went with that. The wings were really amazing. They were really good size wings, jumbo. Both flavors were delicious. My cousin & I were tempted to get more wings but really wanted to try a burger. The wings were pretty filling so we decided to split one. Since Erin was batting a thousand with her picks we decided to let her pick our burger and side. She chose the Philly with onion rings. Again, delicious. I’ll definitely return, just to have those wings again and try a new flavor. Highly recommend this place, the food & service were both fantastic!
Man was this place a treat, had the sweetest little server Emerson. Gave some awesome recommendations and overall made my experience 10x better. The food was great too which was a plus!
solid spot! really enjoyed the sandwiches and the beer we had out on the patio while watching college football
Love Ed’s Tavern. We went for football Sunday and think it’s amazing they list each TV with the game they’re playing. The food is really great too. We have the chicken nachos and the Barbalo and Bourbon wings. They could’ve been slightly more crispy but they were saucy and the blue cheese was fantastic. Our server was unbelievable too. I wish I got her name. They had an amazing draft list and lots of other drinks. Would absolutely go back!!
Been meaning to go here for a while and it did not disappoint, one of the nicer patios / vibes in this area. $3 tacos are a steal for their size and quality. Weekly trivia on offer as well as super fast WiFi.
Great food and service experience! Alex, our server, was so friendly and welcoming! It’s awesome to have a quality local bar in the area.
Great place and service. Had the Philly burger and it was cooked perfectly. Love the onion rings
Fun place. Went on Friday; 6.50$ Crown Vanilla shots. M-F they offer decent price lunch specials. Drinks were good, and the atmosphere was fun. Located downtown Charlotte.
This place is awesome. I’ve been here dozens of times and have never had bad service or bad food.
