Meh, it's fine. Food I've ordered has been good enough...but no burgers?! lol come on...how hard is it to make a burger? Surprised they're not on their menu.
Surprisingly good for a neighborhood restaurant. Moved to the area and have now eaten here 3 times. Each time great food.
Good pizza and gluten free menu. Just tried for first time - had a big group with one person who needed gluten free. The wings were good and the pizza was good (even the gluten free one). I will be coming back.
We have been eating here every Wednesday for over a year, frequenting this place even before this routine. Specials are fantastic, pizza is delicious...nothing on the menu disappoints. Can be heavy handed with sauces. Service is great. Tip: wraps are on the lunch menu but you can order them for dinner! Check the date on those bad reviews.....we LOVE Hawthornes!

Great all around. Went there today, and was greeted by a very polite hostess/waitress. Seated promptly and drink orders were taken and brought to us almost immediately. We settled on the Hawthorne's Sicilian pizza with pepperoni. The waitress was kind enough to let us know that it was going to be a little longer than usual since it was such a thick pizza. During the wait, she never let our drinks run out. When we got the pizza, it was huge! I could only manage two slices before I had to quit. It was so delicious though. The cheese was gooey and the pepperoni was just crispy enough. It was like garlic bread pizza, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Mmm... I'm glad that I live just down the street from the place, because this is going to be my regular pizza spot. Next time I get a sicilian though, I'm going to have more help eating it. :)
Above average all the way around. I've never really had a bad meal here. The food is above average and the service is slightly above average. They're not terribly fast, but I guess it does take time to make a pizza or calzone. They have a very good beer selection on tap. They used to have $1.50 drafts on Monday's (including imports). They do have a tendency to burn the crust on the pizzas and calzones which some people may like, but I don't.
Great lunch specials. Not the best pizza I've had, but certainly not the worst. We ordered pizza by the slice and the 'slice of the day' was very good - BBQ chicken with hot sauce instead of traditional pizza sauce. The 'NY Style' cheese slice however was served cold. Which to most people may have been an issue, but I prefer my pizza at room temperature anyway, so it was just fine. The pizza was mediocre at best, but the crust was excellent, I suspect ordering an actual full sized pizza would result in a better quality product, which is what I plan on doing next time I'm in the area.
Great pizza wth fresh ingredients. A good selection of fresh salads and homemade garlic bread. Plenty on the new menu to choose from & 1.50 beers on Monday.
Had a great late lunch. Our server was super friendly and helpful with recommendations.
We had the meatballs and mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and had cheese pizza, BBQ wings, Stromboli, and chicken Alfredo.
Food came out pretty quick and hot. All in all was a good experience.

Hawthorne’s , a hidden gem!
I was out running errands on this rainy Memorial Day weekend, there weren’t any barbecues to go to, I didn’t feel like cooking, and I wasn’t in the mood for fast food …
I called my foodie friend for a good suggestion, and he highly recommended Hawthorne’s. I was hungry, curious, and in the area, so I placed my order for the Classic White 4 Cheese Pepperoni Pizza with garlic butter crust, and hoped that they would live up to their rave reviews.
The moment of truth…
I arrived home, opened my pizza box and was about to devour this pizza (my 1st meal of the day), but it was so beautiful that I had to take a picture. I had a feeling that this pizza was going to be review worthy, and I was right!
This pizza tastes as good as it looks! Everything about this pizza was perfection.. it literally melted in my mouth. The 4 cheeses complimented each other nicely, paired w/the perfectly cooked pepperoni, and the delectable garlic butter crust.
This pizza wasn’t just delicious, it was a culinarily masterpiece! Hawthorne’s on Highland Shoppe Dr. is the best pizza that I’ve had in Charlotte.
If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit!
Food is amazing and tasty and I willing order it - to go.
Our server was very nice and attentive. Food was great as it is in all Hawthorne restaurants.
Our drinks looked great, but unfortunately I would describe it as "tastes the same perfume smells" - would not order raspberry mohito or mango margarita again.
Another detractor was that no one cleaned the tables after people left. I didn't think it would bother me to eat surrounded by uncleaned tables but it did (they were at 50-60% capacity, not crazy buzy).
All in all, I'd recommend this place for food and beer /wine, definitely not mixed drinks.

No worries ... they will bring your order to you and you can sit in your car or stand around and watch things under control as good as can be.
Difficulty feeling comfortable getting out? I recommend you drop by and see what all restaurants need to be doing!
I felt comfortable here at Hawthorne’s and I’ve yet to see any restaurant handle this any better!
Review pre-pandemic:
Hawthorne’s is ten times better than Olive Garden. We just finished another great meal at Hawthorne’s Prosperity! The leftovers from Hawthorne’s are actually even better the next day when I reheat them. Olive Garden leftovers I throw away. Please everybody keep standing in line at Olive Garden while me and my family eat drink and play Trivia on line at Hawthorne’s!
Locals hangout regularly here and they love the drinks and the pizzas! I call in an order every once in awhile but my favorite way is to go in and order in the back at the takeout register and then I belly up to the bar and see if I can drink three before they have the order ready... so far only been able to drink one or two and then they summon me that my order is ready ...
Located in strip mall a number of tables with bar, nothing special but clean and service was very good. Also provide a great deal of take-out. Nice selection of menu items and server suggestions were very good. We had 2 pizzas; Buffalo chicken and white along with. Ceasars salad and it was all very good. Overall, very good experience
Picked up a to go order and it was fantastic as always. The staff is friendly when you walk in, and the order was ready when I was told that it would be. The wings are great and you can tell they have homemade wing sauce. Also had spaghetti and cheesecake on this order and both of those dishes were great too. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!
Five stars for the basic yet surprisingly tasty NY cheese pie, and for the attentive spot on service from Ashley. The restaurant was also spotlessly clean and well appointed. We were there at prime dinner time on 8-9-22 and we’ll definitely be back.
Alex was our server, super attentive and respectful! Only reason not 5 stars is we wanted to watch NFL network but never happened after we asked twice. All good though, pizza was AMAZING and the Budweiser was ICE COLD!
Staff isn't the most attentive, but the food is to DIE for. NY pizza is delicious, the pasta is fresh and amazing, and everything is fairly priced. You can have a 3 course dinner for 2 for under 60$, with alcohol! Definitely a great place to sit down or get to-go.
Love It, Love It, and oh yea...Love It. Great pizza and a huge fan of "The Inducer." Also, who can deny themselves 10/$10 wings on Saturday's and Sunday's? Not moi. Lol. Long Island, me, please. Don't meet me there, beat me there.
