Review Ted's Restaurant - Charlotte

I've come here with my son a few times, and I definitely see why folks recommend it for comfort food. Comfy atmosphere, diverse selection of food options, and relatively prompt ordering, order cook to table time, and friendly employees. The kids' meals are full size, so most kids will be filled up. You can get the meals (like hot dogs and hamburgers) as plain or dressed up as your kid prefers. The kids' meals aren't reinventing the wheel - they are just solid core options a parent might expect and get the job done! I've had the hamburger steak twice w/ gravy and onions, and a double cheese burger with the works (it was one of the mid-week specials). Burger was definitely solid but I wouldn't go as far as some of the other reviews saying best in the city. That hamburger steak w/gravy is awesome - awesome enough that it'll be tough not to make that my regular order when I go there, instead of exploring the menu more! Typical regular and southern sides available (fried Okra, Mac, crinkle fries, onion rings, mash and gravy, etc.) A lot of sides available, so you'll find a combo that fits your taste. Also, for the amount of food you get, price is great! Dining experience is order at the counter, sit, and they'll bring the food to you. The employees circle the dining room and fill fountain drinks as needed. They are pretty attentive, so you shouldn't have to wait long before your beverage is refilled. Super nice, too, always taking time to interact with my kiddo and keeping the dining area clean! Definitely a solid place to visit for a good meal at a great price. Recommend you give it a try if you're in the area!

Really great comfort food! The fried chicken was made to order (took 20 minures, but they let us know that before we ordered) Got the fried flounder was so good, got it peppered and salted, very very very good! You get 2 sides and bread with the dinners. The potatoes were buttery goodness. It's a bit far out but wellw worthit. The atmosphere is diner like, not fancy. Greatest diamond in the rough.

Food is always great and fresh. Nice combination of family style home cooked meals that are convenient and fast to the table. Very comfortable setting to sit down and talk amongst your company.

This place is amazing... definitely an awesome place for a lunch alone or with a small group if you're looking for some "gramma's kitchen" type nostalgic deliciousness... I spent under $15 for the current Thursday special with an extra side and it's on point... healthy/realistic portion sizes, perfectly cooked veggies, and wallet friendly... I'LL BE BACK!!!

My family and i stopped by here for lunch the other day. Nice little place. The staff were super friendly as soon as we walked in. I ordered the chicken philly, my wife ordered the fish sandwich, and my son got the kids hamburger. Food was good and hot! My wife didn't enjoy her sandwich tho. Said there was too much tartar sauce for the size of the fish in the sandwich. The chicken philly was great! Only thing is they don't have cucumbers. Which makes me wonder, how you gonna have greek dishes, but no cucumbers to make tzatziki sauce?? Had a good experience overall and would try them again.

My fiancée and I have been going to Teds for years! They have the bestttt pita burgers and their Greek chicken is also Amazing. We order out from them at least 2x a week. Also, we are obsessed with their gallon sweet tea. My fiancée is a southern boy and that’s all he drinks and it’s by far the best! Such an awesome local spot. If you do check it out make sure to try their Oreo cheesecake too. Soooo freaking good! Also, Quick shout out to the staff who are always super friendly and attentive. They know our orders by memory by now and are always super sweet when we come in! By far one of our favorite places on the East Side.

The food is very good... The owner and the workers are very nice people! I can't believe I pass this place so many time and didn't try them out give them a try you will regret it!!

Been eating here for 41 years. The food is consistently great. Great staff that makes you feel at home.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the team who were in on Friday evening. I misread the menu about one of the sides-they patiently explained it to me. I went back and sat down and the item I thought was included they threw in for free. What a nice surprise! The food was excellent and the service was even better! I will be sure to visit Ted's again soon!

Been coming here for 20 plus yrs always the best food at great prices. Daily specials are the bomb. Just go feed the family for a good price.Just stopped in for some lunch. It was great as always. Tell them Brian Sent ya!

Another first time place. Out on Matthew's Rd., looking for someplace new, happened across Ted's Restaurant. Seems it's been here for some time now. Little different operation. You order, pay, find a table and the nice person brings your food. Small operation with a good number of tables and booths. A gathering of 7 old, white guys at a back table, made it feel kind of homey and rustic. Cheeseburger with onion rings and a sweet tea was my choice, and it didn't disappoint. Prices were great, service behind the register was welcoming and the place was quite, with the low volume TV in the corner. I liked the place and can see going there again as it seems a welcoming kind of place, just enough off the usual experience to stand out. Parking might get tight if they have a busy spell, but I found a space without too much bother. I'd recommend Ted's to anyone looking for a quick bite.

Our family loves eating at Ted’s. The kids always get burgers but I’m in love with their fiesta pita. It’s incredible! The staff is always very kind to us as well.

Great experience start to finish! Excellent food - taste, quantity, price Philly cheese steak pita sandwich, onion rings Hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra Cheeseburgers, Greek salad, crinkle cut fries Clean! Excellent service! Can't wait to go back.

I had the chicken and dumplings. Almost as good as my granddaddy made it. Large serving worth every dollar. Highly recommend

We have been going to Ted's for years. Always have had great food from there! Forgive the low light on photo.... Got their grilled Chicken salad freshly made! DELICIOUS!

When I was a kid I would walk there all the time I loved the food and the people there Was always kind to me

Good & simple food. Howdy bologna sandwich and it was good other members had hamburgers which were very good. Their desserts are okay I think they were bought and just some good desserts. Better than fast food.
