Great food and daily specials like stewed beef, meatloaf, fish, and baked chicken. The vegetables are the star of the meals with cabbage, greens, fried squash, okra, carrots, Cole slaw, black eyed peas, and sweet potato casserole. Worth the quick service and drive to Freedom.

Friendly staff, excellent food, and reasonable prices! I eat here when I don't feel like cooking and I'm craving a healthy meal. Why eat fast food, when you can have a balanced meal? They have a selection of daily specials that make it easy to know what I want to eat. Eating in or take out, the choice to eat here is a Great one!

I eat there regularly. Have been going for many years. The food and service is good. I'm not sure why there are people that say its terrible or it made them sick, I've never experienced any of that . The pork chops are great as well as the lemon pepper chicken. The mac n cheese is pretty good (I always like mine the best). Pretty busy on Monday nights (pot pie night) as well as Thursday nights (bbq chicken and ribs).

I love going to local restaurants and diners, and I can say I wasn’t disappointed with this one at all! Their liver and onions are fantastic, and so are their chicken livers. They also make all their sides in house, which is fantastic. I got the white slaw and the sweet potato casserole (super delicious). It has a very nice family atmosphere and isn’t expensive at all. People of all ages enjoy it, as I saw from the clientele eating there at the same time as me. My waitress was also very friendly, answering all of my questions, and providing accurate suggestions on what to eat. Will come back here again if I’m in town.

Homestyle diner, set your expectations accordingly. This has become an almost weekly stop for me. I've never had a bad meal here. Some items are better than others. The value of the daily specials is great (entree, 2 veg and tea for ~$7). This is one of the local Charlotte restaurants I enjoy supporting.

My husband and I eat there often. Absolutely love their breakfast. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Been in the same location a long time, that's rare for this side of town.

We went to the Gardenia Restaurant yesterday, because of all the great reviews we read online... We were not disappointed! My wife had the Chicken Salad Sandwich on a croissant roll, our friend from Oklahoma had the Alaskan White Fish, and I had the Marinated Streak Strips. The portions were generous, and tasty, by coincidence we all ordered the "Cinnamon Apples," and they were delicious, and the service was great

Excellent restaurant all around, great service, clean, and the prices are very good! Perfect for dinning alone or with groups. Only problem is they get busy, so you may have to wait for a table; good sign to me!

I absolutely love this place EXCEPT the older woman that rings you up... Yea, she's a bit on the rude side. Nonetheless, i always tip the waitresses because each and every one of them are as sweet as can be. Breakfast here is to die for.
