Tiny place with real deal tacos. Tacos, gorditas, tortas, and some stuff I've never heard of are on the menu. My new favorite!
The grilled pork sopes are the best. The tomatillo salsa verde is so good. I eat here about once a month and the customer service is great.
We have our go-to Mexican Restaurants, but we were really in the mood to try a new spot and Tacos El Nevado did not disappoint. When we arrived, it was PACKED, but we did not have to wait long. The waiters were very accommodating and made sure that we were seated quickly. We ordered guacamole with chapulines (grasshoppers) to start, which was good. Burritos, tacos, huaraches. They were all delicious! Can't wait to go back for the quesabirria!
I personally just order asada (steak) tacos and sopes from here and I haven't really been disappointed by the food. I don't try and order other items on the menu just based off of the other reviews.
Additionally, when looking at the menu it just seems like the items on the menu are like every single other Mexican restaurant. Like I wrote in another review of a Mexican restaurant, it feels very much like a cookie-cutter Mexican restaurant around NC.
Service is okay. If the waitress has one of those handheld POS machines, don't let them guilt trip you into tipping them more hahah.
Also if you have a party of five or more, they automatically do a 20% gratuity fee I believe (READ THE FINE PRINT at the bottom of the menu).

I eat there at least once a week. The tacos are all delicious, the gorditas and sopes are also something I order regularly. The guacamole is fresh and goes great with an order of Pico de gallo-I like mine spicy, so I usually order a diced jalapeño on the side. There is a wide variety of drink options, but only beer if you want alcohol. The space is small but festive and there is usually a mixed crowd of people. If you like authentic Mexican tacos, this is the place to try.
First time trying this place and had some Awesome tacos de birria with cheese, the consomé was delicious, The hot sauce complements them so well. It Was so good I went back two days after and tried their delicious torta con chorizo. Great service Highly recommend this authentic Mexican food.
This place is delicious! You can’t go wrong with any plate here. The fresh juices, food, and service are great. I’ve been getting food from here for 10 years and I have never had a bad experience at this place.
Food is authentic and amazing. It's a small place and fills up fast. Great value also! The new habanero hot sauce is really good
One of the greatest tacos spots in Charlotte. Anyone who complains about their food, are mistaken. They are hard working people who serve many families and hard working men and women in Charlotte. They know tacos because they make tacos. It’s Taco El Nevado, and you will absolutely love their food. Be good, do good.
When I told someone my son loves carne asada tacos, they gave us the name of Tacos El Nevado and said that this place had the best authentic carne asada tacos and we HAD to try it. We weren't disappointed! Delicious, fresh, simple. We also got the guacamole which was super fresh and yummy! Will definitely be back.
The food is delicious. I really loved it but it took forever to get food. The staff was friendly especially the young girl taking orders. I dont speak Spanish but I look like I would. Anyways, she immediately spoke English to take my order which made me feel comfortable. The place is a small area with limited seating. We waited 40 minutes for our food even though they said 15 minutes wait. I understood the place was crazy busy (dinner time) so I was fine with it. The taste of the food made up for the longer wait. Just make sure you arent completely starving during rush hour and you will be satisfied with your meal and visit.
