Good Place-Good Food. Unfortunately; I had to stay at the dumpy hotel across the street, this restaurant was the highlight of my day. I came in for breakfast, the food was good and the service was fast & friendly.
I came back during lunch for a burger and a few beers, again the food was good; service fast & friendly.
If I had anything bad to say about this place; it would be that there are only two beers on tap at the bar. They carry a large selection of beer in bottles.
This place is worth stopping by for a visit.
Totally unexpected. A buddy and I stumbled onto this restaurant when working an event at Charlotte Motor Speedway. I noticed that they were open when we rolled out of the motel early Saturday morning and we decided to check that night and see if Sunday morning breakfast was a possibility. It was so we headed over there Sunday morning.
The restaurant was semi-full of people going to the Panther's game along with some of Mecklenburg County's finest (always a good sign). The hostess seated us and the waitress took our order promptly. Both were friendly. The breakfast menu was extensive; you could get two eggs with your choice of bacon, sausage, Canadian bacon, liver mush, a hamburger patty, corn beef hash, etc. Omelets were available as well as well as pancakes (I'm short changing the menu here as I don't remember all the offerings.)
The food was served promptly and was hot when it arrived at our table. Being from the South I'd ordered grits instead of hash browns or home fries with my meal and was pleasantly surprised to find that they had been salted as they were cooked (not every place does this anymore to cater to seniors on a low sodium diet I suppose, but it's impossible to salt grits after they are cooked. It's like trying to sweeten ice tea after it's brewed.) The hamburger patty was overcooked (per guv'ment regulation) but was ok with the addition of a little A-1 steak sauce. Our coffee cups never had a chance to get empty and the waitress put up with me switching back and forth between regular and "unleaded" with a smile.
All in all a very good experience and I'm looking forward to trying them for lunch or dinner.
