Pio Pio At Ballantyne - Charlotte - Photo album

Authentic South American food, original mural art, festive atmosphere. Every time I eat there, fond memories of backpacking vacations south of the border come alive... The food is good, and it feels down home and special. The owner family is genuinely nice to everyone. I've taken friends there a
My husband said he wanted to try Pio chicken and I was like ok guess I’m on a diet tonight…however the food was really good, somehow it tasted homemade. Everything was made just right, the yellow rice, the plantains, the fried squid, the tacos, the smoke sausage…I can’t believe we actually finished
First time here and it was great! Friendly service, great food overall cute spot. We had the garlic shrimp as an appetizer and they were a little too oily but had a great taste and the fresh tostones were also delicious. We had the chaufa rice with shrimp and chicken good flavor and the plantains ga
So good! My husband got the Montanero and I got the chicken tacos - don’t forget to add the green and white sauces. Both dishes were Amazing!
There may be several places LIKE Pio Pio, but the taste, quality, and authenticity of Pio Pio's food is unmatched. The chicken and sides are way better than their competitors'. For a very reasonable price, I can feed a family of 4 and still have enough for a second meal, or at least lunch the next
It’s hard not to wanna move to the music. Great atmosphere. Not a huge restaurant, but it’s very nice. Food is kinda pricey, but it’s worth the money. You get good portions. The food is delicious. The staff are friendly, helpful and pretty cool. Great Peruvian food! Definitely recommend! Also, in pr
Great stop for picking up a roasted chicken family meal.
Authentic cuisine with excellent value. We ordered the Latin combo, mango juice, sweet tea, and garlic shrimp. Our server noted my husband is not supposed to eat pork for his health and pointed out items he asked for would not be best for him, which I really appreciated. We will be back!
I had the Montanero and it was delicious. The food was fresh and hot. The everything was amazing. The best part to me of the dish was the options. I get some rice, beans, plantains, eggs, steak and pork skins. WOW!! I will definitely go again.
Shut the front door! Wow this was great food. We walked in and placed a to-go order. We had never eaten here before and we were so pleased. We now have a new favorite place!
This particular evening I had the grilled chicken with sautéed onions, rice and red beans along with tostones and ordered a side of maduros … cause why not. Everything was delicious and our waitress was especially sweet and attentive. Will be back again. :)
Hadn’t been to PioPio in a long time. We used to go to the one off East Blvd. the food, aromas, atmosphere and service was fantastic….as always! This one at Blackeney was so cozy. Cannot wait to go again.
This is our first time going to Pio Pio We had the lomo saltado, chafa rice and #1 I’ve tried lomo saltado before I feel like this one is little Americanized but overall the food was good Good portion The guac and tostones were delicious ! Eric our waiter treated us very good
Always consistent with food quality, amazing authentic rotisserie, yellow rice, sauces, plantains. We order often!
I have ordered from Pio Pio multiple times and have never been disappointed. Delicious rotisserie chicken! Makes getting dinner on the table a snap! Thumbs up from the whole family. Location is convenient. Pick up or carry out, both have been smooth.
We only did takeout. I had never been inside. I had expected a fast food atmosphere (eg. Viva chicken). But was surprised to see a nice sit down restaurant with about 10 tables. I will definitely have to dine in next time. Food was very good. Definitely worth a try.
Breaded chicken with Tostones and Inkacola was really good. It’s more than enough to serve 1-2 people.
