I've passed by this restaurant a million times in the past few years and always forget to visit until after I pass the exit. They've been in Charlotte for decades and have a huge menu from hamburgers/hotdogs...chicken liver/gizzards to a variety of Giro sandwiches, fish choices and combo plates. Their daily specials are typically a good deal and many times can feed 2 people. The service is fast, considering most items are made as you order. The service is very nice and definitely patient as they wait for you to take in the entire menu posted at the register and finally decide what to order. The building itself... well, it's clean but old, just like all the other iconic restaurants that have been around Charlotte for many years. It's immediately just off the exit ramp, so be careful to watch for it. Trust your instincts... the food is amazing for such an unassuming presentation. It's definitely food with a soulful touch of "stick to your ribs" fantastic!! I definitely recommend you give them a try...I think I've seen them on a few of the delivery services. ENJOY!!
Food good, need to update online menu with correct pricing, my order was $5 more than what I thought I ordered online .. anyway ,, also, it smells fishy inside the restaurant, not pleasant to pick up orders ✌🏾
The food was piping hot and well seasoned. The service was professional and caring with smiles. The collards are home cooked and the slaw is fine and delicious. If you have not tried the fried squash you have missed out on a great flavor and enough to share . Elina and Billy will make sure you are happy , full and satisfied. Just ask Alma and Ray
Ok so this is the first time I've ever been here. Passed it otw to friends house so I we tried it. Loved it! There sweet tea was southern..yes! The food was great...but the chicken wasn't freshly cooked..but we imagined if it had been..it would've been even better!! The cashier was very nice, she offered some suggestions. They had their daily specials on a white board. Now the atmosphere was SUSPECT so many things happening in the gas station next door and across the street. Either way food was on point..WE WILL BE BACK!!
2nd location me and the family have tried. This place is the truth. The staff was great .Definitely gonna be a regular place to eat . Can't wait to be able to sit and eat at the restaurant.
Food was delicious as always!! Brittany and Alina were kind and helpful and even recommended some yummy dessert to try. Love this location!!
don't sleep on chicken king! the two pieced mixed chicken dinner w/fries & hush puppies is on the money & the servings are plentiful. the fish dinners with dirty rice/collards are bangin! i've never been disappointed! 👍👍
Was only only here to grab a door dash order. The food smelled so good I had to order me some. Long story short, after one bite, I dropped off customer food and parked to eat mine 😋 😋
I loveeeeeeee CK I literally go there like every other day after I get off work. EVERYONE that works there are soooo poliTe and kind🥹, Food is always fresh. Im also always in and out when I go there. You guys definitely need gooo to Chicken king!!! PS GET THE KIDS CHICKEN TENDERS WITH SIDE OF MACARONI!!
This would be 5 stars,because for the most part the cooks do a great job. Food is priced well, prepared well and usually hot. But the lady that answers the phone and attends the counter is horrible. She's just not friendly or
Professional. Please don't ask her a question, her dislike for you grows right before your eyes. I wanted a receipt and she gave me the store copy.
She's hurting your business because I'd like to be treated with kindness if I'm spending my money there. That club sub was delicious but the service upset my stomach. Replace her or train her
