Providence Road Sundries is a great spot for watching games, eating/drinking with friends and family meals. The left side of the restaurant has a bar, high tops and booths and caters more to adults. The right side has booths and tables and caters primarily to families/kids.
The menu has solid bar food. It consists of bowls, salads, tacos/wraps, burgers and sandwiches. We’ve tried most of the menu over multiple visits and the Cowboy Burger and Pimento Grilled Cheese are our favorite handhelds. The Chicken + Black Bean and Rice bowl is super hearty as well and worth a try.
Service is good and the owners are cool. It can take some time for food during peak lunch times - especially on weekends when it’s packed. The only downside to this place is the parking. sundries shares a tiny front and back lot with Pasta & Provisions and it’s really hard to not only get a spot but to turn into the shopping center depending on the traffic coming down Providence. We usually just park alongside CCK in the adjacent neighborhood to avoid the hassle. It’s a great local, family owned spot that caters to everyone.
9/1/2023 stopped here for lunch, apparently this place has been around a while, since 1933. This place got packed quickly during lunch. I ordered the shrimp tacos which were delicious as well as sweet potato fries. The waitress was really polite and I know she was really busy with all the different tables! I would recommend stopping here for lunch!
Very nice menu, plenty of choices. The burgers were delicious, and you can get a single or a double. Superb onion rings. Great draft beer choices. Service was outstanding. Will be back soon.
We came to grab a quick bite and a drink. Michael was our bartender / server and was very nice and welcoming even though it was later in the evening. My wife had a burger and I had the Southern Rice Bowl. It was AMAZING. If you want a place to go and watch a game or just hang out at a great local bar, this is the place to try.
Absolutely amazing food. Our waitress was fantastic. Definitely adding to our list! The burger was seasoned perfectly and was so juicy! The queso and chips were delicious! My husband love the nachos!
I had a burger, which was like 2 burgers because it was 2 patties served on a hoagie roll and sliced in half. The queso was good and the tortilla chips were fresh. The restaurant is much bigger than it looks from the outside. There is a large bar with sports and the waitstaff is friendly. One of Charlotte's oldest restaurants first serving in 1933.
The vibes here were old school, but it was still nice. Me and my friend went here and it was better then we thought. The food was 10/10
Im definitely coming again 😁
Social distancing! Great wait staff. Good food and solid drinks. Who can ask for anything better? The "garage doors were open to allow fresh air too. I ordered the fish tacos and they were really good. I'd order them again. Loved the tater tots too!
First time here and decided to try a Guinness for the first time. Cheeseburger was huge. I was expecting a single and got a double. Very good, juicy burger. Side of mac & cheese was amongst the best I've ever had. Nice ambiance and seemed to be doing well for early Saturday evening. Waitress was good with only one minor snafu. I would defonately go here again and I highly recommend Providence Rd. Sundries.
I have been coming to Providence Road Sundries since 1994. Remains a favorite - great vibe, very nice staff, nice menu and good food. Hope I can go for another 30 years.
