I just left the restaurant and from start to finish it was an amazing experience. The young gentleman host was very sweet and sat us immediately and within 40 seconds we were greeted y the most amazing server I think I've ever had(Kat). She knew the menu so well and helped me find something with my dietary restrictions. She was attentive and kept our drinks refilled(I drink A LOT of tea)The food was fantastic! I did the salad builder and was able to get what I wanted. The salad was so big that I got a box to take home. I accidentally left the box on the table and Kat came running out after us with my box! That's above and beyond. Great food, great atmosphere, great service! We will definitely be making this a regular lunch spot. Thank you!
I went for lunch today and my waitress (Kat) was so sweet and she really knew the menu. They recently changed it and took off my favorite sandwich so I had to find something new. She was very patient with me and helped me decide on the freedom burger. The sauce is so good! I had the brussels as my side and they are out of this world. If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Not too mention how fast the food came out! Definitely visit this place for lunch if you get a chance.
Food was delicious. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Also, I got some cute photos and one with my fun waitress. The patio is a vibe. We're definitely coming back. I loved it. This was perfect for my birthday.
Went with a friend to have girl talk time. Got our food and told them that if we needed anything, we would get them that we were just there to have some lunch and to catch up. The waitress was great and didn't bother us unless we asked, and then they were right on it. The food was really good and the service was great. Great experience overall.
Service was great, I highly recommend going there after 4PM on Mondays because you can get the hickory tavern burger with fries for less than $10. It's a good amount of food.
Hickory Tavern should feel lucky to have such a dedicated and invested bartender at the Providence location. He has been with the company for over 17 years and has quite the following of regulars who appreciate his engagement and service. Everyone wants the company to do well, so in turn he does well. To hear from fellow patrons that the new CEO, referred to a 17 year employee as someone who “must be stealing from the company” (in front of guests and other employees) is just absurd. He brings the hometown feel to this local company, and should be applauded, not chastised, in front of peers and guests. It’s a shame that the CEO who is looking to turn around a company, would make these type of disparaging remarks.
Our food and service were both very good! The hostess said they were short staffed and only had one cook and that it would take at least a half hour to get our food. We'll, it only took 15 minutes and our dinner was delicious! I got the blackened shrimp tacos with tater tots ( I love tater tots) and my wife got the build your own salad. Both our dinners we're great!. My wife's salad was hug and fresh! We also got an order of roasted brussel sprouts and they were also delicious. Ana, our server, was very nice and pleasant and did a great job taking care of us. Short staffed or not, everyone at Hickory Tavern worked very hard and did a great job!

Citrus Shrimp Tacos is outstanding in addition to the fish tacos and sweet potato fries. Onion rings are good...
Enjoyed Brunch for Easter 2022 with the Grits, Bacon, and Egg Bowl - description is perfect: soft scrambled eggs served over North Carolina cheese grits, bacon and toast.
All the flavors tied in well, it was a nice light meal. Service and atmosphere was great.
Nice spot close to our hotel we were able to walk to. Good drinks and the BBQ nachos were so good we had to order a second plate. Top 3 nachos we had in our lives. The backyard peach tea was a nice mixed cocktail too.
