I have been a musician at The Rusty Onion for around three years. This is a family-owned restaurant and I can provide my testimony on their top notch service and quality of food. Jimmy and Maria (restaurant owners) have been like a second family to me and the have always strived on making sure each and every customer has a great experience at their place. An excellent place to meet up with family and friends, have some drinks, food and catch some sports while listening to some of the great music local talent.
I thoroughly enjoy every experience at The Rusty Onion. The owner is friendly as are the wait staff. The food is awesome! I love the BBQ Chicken pizza and the fried pork chops!. The chicken alfredo is very good as well. It makes it hard to decide what to eat sometimes. Usually I order a pizza and pork chops to go....cause they are so worth it!!
Just started going here through a recommendation from a friend. I've tried the wings, the pitas, and the brotherly love philly. All of which were great! The chef John helped with recommendations. Wednesday night they have musical bingo! So nice family fun! Saturday night they have live music! Also they have a big patio which is great for big groups. Daily drink specials! Bill depends on drinks ordered
Have to update you, their pizza is really yummy. My new place for pizza. They deliver in a 5 mile radius and the pizzas look really good. I had the chicken parm with angel hair pasta, it was good but if you like extra garlic you should ask for it, loved the salad too. I will definitely come back. Next time I will ask for Gina as she seemed to be a good server, my server was ok but green. After dinner I went to the bar for a beer cause I didn't like nor drink my sauvignon blanc that wasn't on the menu yet. The bartender Meredith was fantastic, I might just sit at the bar next time. She makes you feel at home. I had to raise the service a star just for her. Thanks Meredith.

Pleasant experience! The staff is super friendly and the vibes in this little restaurant are top notch! The garlic knots were really tasty and my BBQ chicken sandwich was delicious. Only gripe was the wait time, I waited about half an hour for my sandwich (and I was sitting alone). However, long wait times don’t seem to be a theme so I think this was an isolated issue. Will be back!
Delicious pizzas!!! They catered our team lunch this past week. Friendly owner who was extremely helpful as well. You can tell he just loves life. The pizzas also had the perfect thickness of crust. All the toppings we got were so yummy and everyone enjoyed them. We are going to keep him on our list for future meetings as well.
Went there for lunch today and had the buffalo chicken salad. If your a fan of buffalo flavor, you won't be disappointed. Romaine, cherry tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles and onion. Paired with ranch dressing or whatever dressing you like. Really good.
During an 8 month stay in Charlotte, I frequently found myself with a few hours to kill in the evening and the Rusty Onion was a great place to do that. The bar area was often filled with regulars who clearly have known each other for years yet were always welcoming to a new visitor. It very much had a "Cheers" kind of vibe (although - for the life of me - I can't quite remember anyone's name! LOL). Great food (my favorite was the Popeye Salad) and nice environment. Whenever I am back in Charlotte I will certainly go back to Rusty Onion for a visit.).
Pizza was excellent. NY style but not too oily. Large pepperonis made it extra good. Wings were great too!
It was our 1st time here today and we enjoyed the great service and the quality of the food. The Ranch for the wings is homemade and it taste so good.
The Atmosphere is laid back and the staff is always on point and great... The food is good Especially the wings and pizza, and the burgers are on point as well, very nice spot Indeed.. 👌 😋 👍 😀
