The food, atmosphere, and service were awesome!! Loved the sushi and the teriyaki was among the best I've ever had, cooked to perfection. I also loved the grilled duck. Amazing. Definitely coming back again. It lives up to the great dining experiences we've had with its sister restaurants Baku and Yama Izakaya!!
Fine food. Great service. A bit more expensive than fast casual but well worth it. We liked the atmosphere too.
My wife and I both liked the sushi she ordered, but we both found the ones I ordered middling.
The Pink Lady, as an example, was all lobster salad, very little avocado, and no mango. The brightness of some mango would have really cut through and made it a good roll, but without it, it was just fishy mayo and rice.
The food is excellent and well-presented. The service was fast and friendly. The hibachi was great, though the sushi, according to the people I was with, was good but not the best they’ve had. Overall, it was good enough that we’d go back, but maybe not for dinner because if you’re looking for a nice night out with a quiet atmosphere, this isn’t it. It’s not the restaurant’s fault, but we happen to be sitting near not one, not two, but three families with small children. We surely didn’t expect that on a Friday night! One family’s kids were screaming and throwing temper tantrums for so long, the father actually left and returned with McDonald’s Happy Meals! It quieted them down for a few minutes, but the spoiled brats eventually continued screaming at their parents! Otherwise, we may have had a perfect night.
Great service and atmosphere. We really enjoyed the sushi/sashimi combo, gyoza, miso soup. The fish were fresh and of great quality. We also order the grilled duck, which was overpriced. The duck was seasoned well but it’s too small for 28 dollars.
A solid place for sushi. The quality of the fish is very good and the rolls are the perfect size. You don't need to dislocate your jaw to get pieces in your mouth. I recommend the shumai as well. Very good!
Went there a few weeks ago after work, about 20 minutes before last call cause I had a long day and really really wanted sushi ;). I was trying to hurry up so I wouldn’t keep them late, so the server saw me hunched over the menu hurriedly making selections. She was so kind, she told me to sit down, relax, and enjoy the experience. I still made sure to move it, cause everyone wants to go home, and was out of there 25 minutes later. Food was awesome BUT even better was the kindness they showed. It was a very enjoyable meal, albeit brief due to my timing ;)
I’ve driven past Yama for years but never went. A friend recommended i try it— glad she did! I was impressed by the quality of fish… fresh with a nice variety. They didn’t overwhelm you with too much rice either. Our server Christine was very knowledgeable about the menu and sake. I will return!
Food was delicious! We enjoyed some appetizers before our main entrees. We had some Edamame - not pictured, Shrimp Shumai - not pictured, and Crispy Calamari. For our meal we ordered 2 Yama Sushi Bowls, H&M, Snow - not pictured (Yellow tail, tuna, salmon, avocado, masago wrapped in soy paper), Sunset and Smoke Salmon.
Great food and service. It's a higher quality restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
The sushi are good but has better one somewhere else. The veggie tofu teriyaki is delicious, recommended for the vegetarian 😊
Delicious Japanese food. Love their sushi and hibachi dishes. My favorite sushi is the spider roll. I love the steak and shrimp hibachi here.
