Nothing but good service and food. I am surprised by the horrible reviews. I'm not saying they are not true, but fortunately my service and food has always been great. I do admit I have had to wait, but the waitress provided an appetizer, which was awesome customer service. I certainly hope I will never experience fraud and burnt food, yeah that would be unacceptable!

This bonus edition of Excited about Eating takes us to Cheddar’s Restaurant in the University area of Charlotte. This casual family restaurant, founded in Arlington, Texas boasts that they want to “be a great restaurant that serves quality food fresh from the kitchen in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere at a fair price.” I believe they accomplish this.
Awesome Experience. My children and I absolutely enjoy this establishment. The service is always wonderful and the food is delicious for an extremely great price.
Love this place!. Service is hit or miss,but I love the food. Chips with free beef!! Great burgers, pot pie,spasagna, cheese steak, ribs. Never had anything I didn't like. Don't forget to order a cookie monster skillet to finish it off!

Pleasant Surprise. Went to Cheddar's for the first time on Monday and was pleasantly surprised. It's a chain out of Texas but it came across as more of a local place than a chain. Light and airy and very tastefully decorated with excellent photographs of the Tar Heel State throughout the building. While not a local chain, someone did an excellent job in capturing the essessence of North Carolina in pictures.
That said, the atmosphere is light and airy and the service is excellent. We were seated immediately and presented with out menu and drink orders taken promptly.
My wife started with a nice bowl of potato soup. While I did not sample it, she proclaimed it to be very good. For an appetizer, we order one of their signature dishes, the Onion Rings. The rings were lightly battered and fried just right. They were served with two different dipping sauces. One was a nice ranch and the other a slightly spicy Western variety. Both were very good.
I had a nice Caesar Salad as a side to my order of the Sheppard's Pie. The Caesar was very good but unfortunately I would only rate the Sheppard's Pie as fair. Great presentation but the meat stew was weak and lacked both a robust flavor or texture I'm familiar with in a Sheppard's Pie.
My wife had the Monte Cristo Sandwich which she really liked. She said it had been a long while since she had even seen a Monte Cristo on a menu and that there rendition was very good. I tried a small sample and it was indeed very good. Ham was good texture and nice and sweet.
Aside from the Sheppard's Pie which needs work, everything else was very good and we will be back next time we're over in the University Area. I do have to give them high marks for presentation and platting which is something I rarely get a chance to do with casual chain restaurants. It's a nice touch and patrons appreciate it.

Cheap and Good. Love Cheddars so much. Went out to Missouri once and the one out there had loaded potato skins as an app and it was the best thing I ever had. Too bad the one here didnt have it. Please get it. I'll pay what ever you want just offer it. Please try the broccoli casserole.
Great group dining. This place has a nice, laid back atmosphere and is a great place for group dining. But they don't take reservations and they tell you that if you call. But we didn't have to wait longer than 10 min to be seated on a Saturday! There is a variety to please everyone and the food is good. The prices also just can't be beat. The portions are out of control! You may actually want to share or you'll definitely have leftovers. I had the tilapia with mango salsa--EXCELLENT!!! My husband had the fried catfish--He LOVED it (it came with 7 pieces though, so ask for a doggy bag). My mother-in-law had the ribs and chicken fingers--Way too much for her small appetite, but it was good especially for the price. I would go back.
Great atmosphere!. Not only do they have great food, but the servers are very friendly. I would recomend going there if you get the chance!

The food is delicious.
On this visit we had the Monte Cristo, Baby Back Ribs, Coleslaw, Red Beans and Rice, Loaded Baked Potato and croissants.
Everything tasted good.
The service leaves a lot to be desired. We always have to wait much longer than the time that we are given to pick up our food. I have had to go inside twice to inquire about our order. This is not good. I hope this improves.
First time ever to a Cheddar's. Miranda was our server, she was great! Strawberry Lemonade was very yummy. The hot buttered croissants were sooo good, melt in your mouth. The spinach dip, queso and chicken tender trio sampler was excellent. My son got the Salmon and daughter got the buffalo chicken wrappers. Everything was great. The atmosphere was very modern and clean. The bathrooms were clean also. Free parking lot adjacent.
We had a wonderful meal and entire experience at Cheddar’s today in Charlotte! Kama G was our server. He was outstanding with our service and suggestions on our meal choices. We each had a margarita which was awesome. I had the chicken pot pie, and my daughter had the meatloaf. Both meals were delicious and the croissants were to die for. We will definitely be back!

Idk if it’s just us but whenever my husband and I bring our three daughters (9 3& 3) out to eat it’s always something. Once we went to a chilis and I literally thought we were being punked bc of how blatantly rude and all around terrible the service was there. And we are not Karen’s, my husband wouldn’t even send his food back if the order was completely wrong! But it’s gotten us so discouraged that we rarely eat out anymore. We tried our luck last Friday @ cheddars bc we were like a half hour from home and the kids were starving. The restaurant itself is really nice. And clean. My kids loved the giant fish tank! It’s absolutely kid friendly but also has a bar walled off at the end of the restaurant which also looked really great to grab a drink. We were greeted by a very nice waitress, who ended up taking our drink and entire food order. After waiting ten plus min without drinks we thought here we go. But that’s when they came out with absolutely everything! Drinks( which she refilled regularly) all our food, and even warm croissants! We were very pleasantly surprised! The portions were very large too! And everything was really good! The kids meals are only $5 and include drinks! We’ll absolutely be heading back here! Don’t forget to tip your servers!!
Great place for comfort food. We had grilled chicken pasta, steak and shrimp and bourbon glazed salmon. The broccoli cheese casserole is the absolute best thing I've ever had.
We split the chicken tenders with shrimp, which comes with 2 sides. It was plenty for the two of us and delicious. We washed it down with a couple of mules. The only downside was the croissants, which were cold and crusty. They were likely sitting out for a while.

This is the only one near us since they closed the one in Winston-Salem down around covid.

Very neat atmosphere with this huge aquarium and very interesting fan above. Our waitress was awesome! I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich and baby carrots. The carrots had sugar in them and the sandwich I couldn't eat it because it was too greasy so she took it back and asked what else I wanted, so I got a salad. It was delicious! She even subtracted the sandwich from our bill!
Unique and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a very good meal. Reasonable prices for well prepared meal, especially the meatloaf. Our server was attentive and pleasant. My first visit here was great and I am eager to return.
