A really solid 4 to 4.25. Went for lunch today. I got the double cheeseburger and its a really solid burger. nothing fancy, just a good classic burger. Fries are similar, just good solid fries. The wife got the ribeye steak sandwich. Ive never really been impressed by rib eye sandwiches and this continues the trend. That was mediocre for me, she enjoyed it though. On top of all that, prices are good. Here is the deal: we rarely just eat burgers anymore. If I ever just want a solid burger and im near south end, Ill probably come back. But I dont think that will happen very often. Definitely worth it if you want a good old school diner burger.
The Hamburger place. If you like burgers this is the place in Charlotte
College Spot. Back before the lightrail, when I went to JWU, this was THE spot for a burger. So awesome.
Goodies for the taste buds. Such flavor,we went with a group of ten people. we enjoyed the food, good stuff. making this a every 2 week event
Zacks burger, fries, onion rings, scrunchy ice coke... There should be a LOVE button! Damn good eating!
Delicious!!! I had a cheeseburger and all beef hotdog with chili and slaw. Incredible! Busy in a good way at lunchtime when we went. Fast food.
My favorite dive in Charlotte.. I miss Zacks, great burgers, fish, onion rings, et. al. Thanks for all the years Zacks, dont ever change a thing.
Good, Not Great. Stepping into Zack's is like stepping into a time warp, in a good way. The building, the signage, the prices, everything about Zack's is retro. I didn't order anything crazy, just a double bacon cheeseburger (I'd heard their burgers were fantastic), some of their homemade onion rings, and iced tea. All of this came to a whopping $6 - a lot of food for the money. The burger was fresh and tasty, but it's no Five Guys or Char-Grill - it was good but I've had better. Their homemade onion rings were simply awesome and they give you a huge helping.
Make sure to give Zack's a try, as it's definitely worth a stop in, and it's definitely worth the price...
These cats put the GREASE in the GREASY SPOON!. This is a dive from WAAAY back and they do it right if a fast greasy burger is what you seek! Kinda like Fatbrger back in the day. The food is good and fast and make in-house, unlike most choke-n-puke burger joints these days. I wouldn't drive across town for it, but if you are @ the Circle K on Scaleybark and South Blvd and hankering' for some grub, give 'em a shot!
Comfortable, casual, inexpensive burger, dog, and much more throwback shack that will grill and fry sumptuous food. Eating there will make you feel like a teenager again.
Unfortunately this is the last day for this great burger place will be open. This has been a main staple in Charlotte for a great burger and the family that owns it are great people also. Good luck George and family. Thanks for the great food for the past 46 years.
A venerable institution in Charlotte. Zack's Hamburgers has withstood the test of time and the covid-19 pandemic. I happened to be in the neighborhood yesterday, trying to purchase a wheelbarrow. I was mighty happy to see that's Zack's was still in business. The hours are different now. Everything is packaged in to go containers...but the most important thing of all, is the food. And that's not changed. Zack's special comes with fries for around 7$. 2 really large beef patties, 2 slices of cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles ,onions, mayo and special sauce. Fries are included as well. There's plenty of outdoor seating available, the umbrellas are already up and open. The parking lot is huge, have a picnic in your car, truck or SUV. The service is still as fast and efficient as ever. You will definitely enjoy the classic's. It's almost like walking back into the 70's. Zack's just exudes that classic vibe. Please continue to support the local businesses that have made Charlotte what it is today, tomorrow and in the future. These local businesses are what gives Charlotte its panache, it's flavor. Good little burger spot off South Blvd. Prices are fair for what you get. The burger tastes similar (but better) than a McDonald's burger. The fries were ok but needed salt. The onion rings I will come back for!
My order took longer to come out because I guess they had to make the onion rings --so if you're in a hurry you might want to order french fries.
One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Saw an order of onion rings go out and instantly regretted not getting them. I'll definitely be back soon!
This is my 2nd time trying Zacks and I absolutely love it. Food made fresh when ordered and wait isn't too long. Outdoor seating is available. Overall location is quaint but totally worth it. I've tried the Zack special and the Ribeye sandwich, both tasty!!!
Really cool retro spot in South end. This is part of our Burger Tour and search for best burger in Charlotte.
These burgers don't seem to photograph well. Due to the pics online I had anticipated this one being on the dull side. Boy was I wrong! I got the Zacks special and it was very juicy. Super tasty and wonderfully put together. I loved all the toppings and every bite had an extra something yummy in it.
The line was short at 6pm and moved quickly. The people working were friendly and helpful too!
I loved the outside seating area and the whole place made me feel like I had stepped back in time.
I did have some trouble finding the restroom. It's outside and around back, which felt a little sketchy but it was actually pretty clean and well stocked.
For sides I tried the fries and onion rings. Both were ok. I recommend the onion rings over the Fries but both needed a little salt.
All in all, super cool spot, great service and a good burger. I'd come back for sure.
Truly a Queen City gem!!! This place is always fantastic. Everyone here is always friendly and welcoming. If you’re in Charlotte, stop by and let the food speak for itself. Local CLT hole in the wall restaurant that’s been here for a very long time now. It’s truly simple diner food however Zack’s food tastes like there’s real love served with it. I always get the Zacks special with the chili cheese fries. The pie is wonderful too! 10/10 love this place and have been visiting for years now!
Classic restaurant in Charlotte since 1975 , hot dogs and hamburgers are awesome, I get my hot dogs all the way with slaw , Carolina style , got the cheeseburger as is with pickles and big mac sauce , it was very good , several shows were filmed here including Homeland on Showtime , 5 stars for the best hamburger in Charlotte! Thank you.
