I was pleased. However, eating with a large group and they sat us at separate tables/booths. The waiter was a sweet young man, but raved about the meatloaf a bit too much. I hope it survives, but I am not sure it will given the reviews below.

Impressed. After a long day visiting family at the hospital and being up late I really wanted good food. My husband and I went to Vine with zero knowledge of reviews ahead of time. We walked in and were greeted warmly, sat promptly and serviced immediately. The food selection was good and cheaper than we would have guessed for the atmosphere. We started with their cornbread app and it was fantastic. (For us southerners in the room, it is a sweet cornbread but still worthy of trying!) my husband had a half rack of ribs with their skillet mac & cheese and I had the Herb Crusted Roast Beef with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Let me just say that both were great and server recommended. These dishes are simple sounding but can be wonderful or terrible depending on execution. Ours were wonderful. The part where perfection came into play was dessert. The butterscotch chocolate chip pie won my heart and the fifth star for Vine. It was perfection. I am resisting the urge to purchase an entire one if it is even possible. Thanks Vine for a fantastic experience! We will be back!
The place is a refreshing addition to the Ballantyne Area! I am from NYC and I know a good restaurant... This is it! From the awesome service to the good food, this place has good quality and lots of personality for the long haul!!! I will be back again and again!!!
Solid addition to the neighborhood. We went to Vine on a Saturday evening around 6:30. I had seen some other reviews about long waits, but we were seated right away. The interior has a dark, cozy feel to it that's very similar to 131 Main as other reviews have stated. The bar area looked like it had some comfy couches, TVs, etc., and the dining area was upscale casual - great for date night or a family outing. As to the reviews about Vine not accommodating large parties, I didn't see any seating larger than a 4-person booth. Our server (Lauren?) was fast and friendly and had some good recommendations.
We got the BBQ shrimp appetizer, which was solid. I got a Pear and Bleu Cheese salad with chicken for my entree, and my fella got the salmon and asparagus. The food was cooked well and was pretty tasting. For all that and 3 glasses of wine, it was about $75, which seemed a smidgen pricey, but not terrible for a weekend night out.
All in all, Vine seems like a great addition to a neighborhood that seems to either have super casual restaurants (Bad Daddy's, Mellow Mushroom, Duckworth's) or super fancy restaurants (Global, Gallery). I hope it sticks around since that location has been tricky for other places in the past.
Really enjoyed our visit here. The service was great and there wasn't a really long wait on mother's day. As others have suggested, the menu is a little pricey but I think the food is worth it. I really enjoyed the salmon and the crab cakes are amazing. We ended up ordering more crab cakes to take home. My only complaint is the restaurant is not really kid friendly.
There were 3 of us and the 2 others gave their food either 4.5 or 5 out of 5. I have mine a 3 or 4 out of 5. I found that most of it needed salt. Like it was devoid of ANY salt. The best dishes were the crab cakes, scalloped potatoes with blue cheese, buffalo chicken pizza, and greek salad.
Great choice for an evening out without having to drive into Uptown. Solid meal. Upper mid-range. Less than fine dining, but much better than Chili's.
The Vine is one of my favorite restaurants. Their skillet cornbread and crab cakes are delicious!! Even though, I was not pleased with the quality of my food this time (my salmon was overcooked and so was my husband's ribs), our waiter, Kevin, and Bar Manager, Wendi Wilkins, corrected the problem. I will return soon.
Hosted a rehearsal dinner here. Great mixed drinks, nice restaurant, nice private event room. Outside patio is a great chill spot as well. Food spread was delicious.
The Vine has a great menu selection for dinner and great specials (food) during "happy hour". Best Sweet Potato Fries I've ever had.
