Review The Summit Room - Charlotte

Love this place! Great drinks! Amazing truffle fries! Owner introduced herself and was so nice to us. Last time I got the chocolate chip cookie skillet and it was amazing! This time we got drinks and fries and we are every last crumb

Nice atmosphere, really good wait staff, delicious drinks and great food!!! Hard to find anything that needs to be improved.

Finally! Some Southern Cuisine that isn't just drenched in batter and deep fried! The food is amazing! I have never had anything like their (not bbq) BBQ Shrimp and corn pudding. Perfectly seasoned, the textures of the dish paired so well. And the service was great as well: very kind and attentive. Every item we ordered was recommended to us by our waiter and we loved every single one. Pimento Dip, Surf and Turf Flatbread and BBQ Shrimp. The drinks are incredibly tasting as they are unique: I recommend you go for one of their 'seven summits'. Loved the Denali.

Excellent atmosphere and delicious food. My husband and I came here for our anniversary and it was such a wonderful experience. The wait staff here are so thoughtful and really take the time to add the little touches to make it a great dining experience. The food was absolutely to die for. Their mac and cheese and rib eye were absolutely phenomenal. The deserts are also some of the best I've had in the area. We will definitely be back!

The atmosphere is vintage reclaimed wood, low lights, efficient use of space and intimate. We went there for cocktails and were not disappointed. It all started with the friendly open culture of the wait staff, added to this was the conversational bartender that my wife and I enjoyed interacting with. The drinks were superior to anything I could make, and the attention to detail made it almost as great to see as it was to drink.

Love this place! The food was amazing, well worth the price.. I had the gnocchi and it was incredible. The atmosphere was so inviting and the staff was attentive and very friendly. There was a pretty long wait inside so we sat outside and since it was a little chilly, we were offered blankets and the heaters were turned on around each table. Will definitely be back here!

Excellent food and service. We made a reservation. We're seated right away. Loved our food: crab cakes, deviled eggs and pimento cheese dip. Our waitress was an absolute doll. My husband says 8/10 bc it was more than $50. I say 10/10 due to quality overall. We will definitely be back!

The food is of amazing quality and everything is made in North Carolina...Even the liquor they serve is brewed in NC (and surprisingly stood up against some of the higher quality drinks I've had in high end cocktail bars). The only reason I gave it lower than a 5 star was it took longer than preferred to get our food. Though I understand it takes longer based on the quality and the fact we had over 10 people, but some of our party weren't able to enjoy dessert since we didn't anticipate such a long wait. It's pricey, but well worth it due to the quality ingredients, the amazing culinary work, and the unique atmosphere.

Great experience and the food is awesome! A gem just steps away from Freedom Park. The staff is AMAZING! My wife and I went for our anniversary and they treated us like we were the only customers in the dining area. They don't accept reservations unless you're in a large party, but they made the exception for us. Eating outside while the sun is going down is a treat in itself. Whenever I'm in the area it's a must to eat here. See ya soon.

Excellent cocktails and tapas. Can get very busy during dinner time. Reservations are recommended. Had some unique cocktails on classic that were very good. Had the lavender mule and their old fashioned while we waited for a table. Luckily, a table had canceles their reservation and we got seated. 6 of us ordered a bunch of plates to share. The barbeque shrimp over grits were good, but a little on the sweet side. The fried okra was delicious, especially the dipping sauce. The chicken sliders were almost as good as chick fil As fried chicken. Corn fritters were solid as were the crab cake popsicles. Very good service, water was constantly being refilled. Waiter stopped by often to check on us top notch establishment. Would highly recommend.

Awesome food and service. 10/10 would recommend. Amber was amazing and very attentive. Everyone that stopped by the table and all the food was amazing from start to finish. They even went above and beyond to make gluten free options available to us.

Cool environment and interesting story about the building. Upcycling is wonderful and wish it was a concept more businesses embraced. Dog friendly outdoor patio with rocking chairs on the porch. Food was delicious, service was outstanding. Portions are small and for a growing boy (cough cough) like me, two plates are nearly standard. The burger made my belly smile, for real... that thing was amazing. Well worth a visit if you haven't been!

It may cost a tad more, but it's always well worth it. The summit room makes great cocktails and food. I adore the mussels and shrimp bahn mi sliders. The Summit room consistently delivers some of the best food I've had in Charlotte.

First visit here last night and we definitely be back! The food was amazing and wine selection impressive! We had the salmon, gnnochi and bison pot roast. ALL very good! The service was very amazing and the atmosphere very quaint and overall I give it a 5 star rating!!!!

Best cocktail menu around! The Blueberry Smash, Peach Bellini and Cucumber Collins are all delish! The fig & goat cheese flatbread was shared and enjoyed by all. Great menu, wait staff was amazing!

I came here to attend a birthday party for a friend. The room was comfortable and easily accomodated our party of 17. The service level was very high and the team- that’s right- team of staff were extremely attentive and professional. The menu was simple but impressive, though the drink menu was sprawling. My girlfriend and I both ordered the Cab Filet with pomme purée, shaved leeks, and red wine Demi. The steak was beyond tender and perfectly cooked. The pomme purée was mashed potatoes at a whole nother level. Taken as individual components, it was delicious. But taken together it was next level delicious. I strongly recommend the Summit Room for their atmosphere, professional service, and unbelievably delicious food. Wr will be back.

Uhh, whoa. This place was significantly better than I thought it would be. The menu looks boring, the execution is anything but. We shared a bunch of small plates and all of them were fantastic, particularly the Surf and Turf flatbread and BBQ shrimp - two things I thought were going to suck and definitely didn’t. I’ll be back. There are so many other underwhelmingly described but undoubtedly delicious things left to try.

Absolutely excellent restaurant from the drinks to the food to the service. This place uses local, sustainable food for its menu, all selections have southern flair. I’ve been here several times and each time it gets better. Locally owned and operated, I highly recommend checking this place out.

Fabulous restaurant- atmosphere is great and the food is phenomenal! Shout out to Steve who was a wonderful server! Highly recommend!

Had an amazing evening. My server, Harmony, made excellent recommendations. I went with everything she suggested and loved it all! Yes, the BBQ Shrimp and Corn Pudding was a perfect blend. The collards had a little sweet and spice...there is also some smoked bits of meat. The cocktails were on the money! The atmosphere is good for all occasions, from girls night to date night. The neighborhood is also stroll-worthy. You'll love this place!

I love this place! I have now been three times and the food and service is always excellent! Last night we went for my husband's birthday and the pastry chef made a salted caramel bourbon cheesecake just for us! My husband loves cheesecake, and I can't say it's my favorite but this was one of the best desserts i've ever had! This restaurant is truly a charlotte gem, very original, lots of atmosphere, excellent food (try the bison pot roast and the pimento cheese fritters), delicious drinks and most importantly NICE PEOPLE. I 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone, and will definitely be back soon!

I had dinner for the first time at The Summit Room last night and it was fantastic! The staff was very friendly, knowledgable and accommodating. The food was all flavorful and fresh. The ambience is really nice and I would highly recommend The Summit Room for those looking for a cozy dinner with your partner or friends. I'll definitely be back.

My brother had his bday dinner here tonite. This was my first time dining here so I didn't know what to expect. The place was quaint, cozy and eclectic. The wine was exceptional. I ordered the pimento cheese fritters and they were amazing! I got the bbq shrimp and when it came out I had to take a pic because it was soooo beautifully plated. I thought it can't taste good cuz it's too pretty. This was the best food I've ever had in Charlotte!! I'm from Charlotte and have eaten everywhere. I tried the collard greens and I just couldn't believe the culinary magic! It's was like my eyes were in Paris but my taste buds were in Savannah. I was tickled to death about how unassuming this little place is. I'm telling everybody because you have to see for yourself. I will be back....soon.

Everything about this place was adorable! Great atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food and tasty cocktails....what more could you want

Well the service was extremely/abnormally slow. I really sympathize with the staff however because it looks like they are one set of staff really running two restaurants combined in one. The food is good however not great for the proportions and price they are charging. You are basically paying for a high end meal and getting appetizer portions throughout. Atmosphere is relaxed southern eclectic & may be great for dating, drinks, meetings.. etc...But not the place I would go back to if I was hungry. There are definitely better southern flare restaurants with better over all experience and value. Didn't get a chance to try desserts however.

It's been a few months since my husband and I came here, so I really hope they have worked on their flaws since then. First off, I will say the food was GREAT. The cocktails were just okay (we tried 2), but the quality of service was disappointing. My husband and I made reservations for my birthday... when we arrived at 6:00 for our reservation, they sat is in the Mayo Bird dining room. Not only was the Mayo Bird side empty, but so was the Summit Room side of the restaurant. The hostess–who was not even initially friendly–sat us at the very worst table in the room... right by the Mayo Bird counter. Literally the table leaned right up against where you would order a chicken salad sandwich. When I looked around and asked if we could sit at ANY other table, she said she would have to go ask her manager if she could seat us elsewhere. Seriously? As she was walking away, I think she finally realized how silly she sounded and said, "Why don't you sit here in the meantime?" and directed us to another table. We sat alone in the empty Mayo Bird for several minutes before our server came to us, and a WHILE before anyone else was seated in the same area–I saw several parties seated in the Summit Room area. From this point, our experience did get better. Our server was friendly, and like I said, the food was good. Our very first impression was overwhelmingly disappointing... 3 stars for the food, but unfortunately, someone would have to convince me to come back here.

Great drinks & bites! Sit at the bar, in front of the fire or on the patio. - all fantastic!

We'd go back - probably treat it more as a tapas place and share several meals. I didn't rate it higher for the simple fact that I found the prices too high, even for dilworth. The drinks were well done and the fireplace a really great touch. Would have preferred dinner without the trophy deer head watching us from the wall.

I had an excellent meal at Summit Room a few months ago. The only downside is that the place is boomy acoustically and I had problems talking to my friend sitting across the table to me. Outside of that I heard they have bomb drink specials on Thursday nights!

Great food and drink options. Quantity is questionable. For instance, any place you order nachos, you can never finish a bowl. In here, the nacho chips could be counted; with 2 hands

4/18/2015 0 Comments I paid a visit to one of Charlotte's newest restaurants, The Summit Room. I strolled my way onto the front porch of The Summit Room this past Friday night. If you haven’t heard of The Summit Room, then you aren’t as abreast of the latest restaurant openings in Charlotte as you think you are. The Summit Room is in Myer’s Park on East Blvd. Anyways, I had heard good things about the joint so I decided to scope it out. I didn’t call ahead because it was kind of late and I figured I’d be able to get a table. I was wrong…it’s my own fault. The Summit Room took over the space belonging to Bruegger’s Bagels…meaning, it isn’t that big. There wasn’t a lot of inside seating from my vantage point, but then again, I didn’t venture in to far. I was told I could wait on the porch until something opened up. That’s exactly what I did. I ordered a Woodford Reserve on the rocks and shot the shit with myself. I’m sure I looked like a madman. Anyways, the first table to open was located outside. I don’t normally accept outside seating…but it was late…and I was hungry. I looked over the menu and realized that this place probably wasn’t right for me. I’m not saying it isn’t right for others, but just not for me. There was no Caesar salad (my favorite appetizer) or anything that closely resembled what I’d normally order. I decided to go with the nachos…knowing full well these weren’t going to be the nachos I’ve grown accustomed to. I also ordered another bourbon. The nachos arrived and my fears were confirmed. There were seven corn chips sitting elegantly on a plate. I wasn’t sure if there were ten more plates coming or not…I guess I understood that this was going to be it. The chips themselves were covered in avocado, lobster, and cheese dressing. They were actually very good. I just would of like a little more from a plate costing $14. Anyways, my bourbon arrived and I ordered the roasted chicken. I highly recommend that if you go to The Summit Room, you try the

Terrible. My wife and I were in on a slow evening. We sat at the bar and our bartender , kaylee, was absolutely amazing. But our food took entirely too long and my wife's food came a good few minutes after mine. and to top it off the female who was evidently the manager screamed from behind me in my ear at the bartender about a steak knife that we had already declined . I felt as though the staff were mistreated by management and it made us uncomfortable .

Loved food service and ambiance!!!
Will definitely be back!
Thank you for a memorable dining experience!!

...one of Charlotte’s newest places to dine al fresco. In a clever and creative move, The Summit Room owners also own the adjacent restaurant The MayoBird and the two dining establishments share this picturesque porch and patio. The MayoBird is open for breakfast and lunch, while The Summit Room with Chef Brent Martin at the helm in the kitche

I happened to come across The Summit Room by chance. Upon reading the story behind how the restaurant got started and seeing some of their menu offerings I knew I had to go there as soon as I could!
