Review Big Ben British Pub And Restaurant - Charlotte

So good! Loved the atmosphere and the $5 Bloody Mary was great! Went for Brunch but got the Haddock and Chips. Staff was friendly and accommodating and the prices weren't bad. And they fly the Portuguese flag!! I will definitely be back!

On a whim I searched for a British pub and luckily Big Ben popped up. Went for lunch figuring I would get fish and chips or something but was pleasantly surprised to see a British breakfast. Ordered some Scotch eggs, breakfast plate and my wife had the shrimp salad. Scotch egg was pretty good but it was literally one egg cut into 4 slices. For the price two eggs would be a better deal. The English breakfast was good. Had the correct items to make it a English breakfast. Beans were a little stale tasting but I can’t be to harsh about them. Wife said salad was a little over dressed. Would prefer dressing on the side to have ratio of her choice. Other than those small misses for us it was worth having and going again the next time we are in town. Bonus was one tv screen showing the F1 race. That would get an extra star from me.

Great spot, enjoyed watching charlotte FC soccer there. Good drink variety and good food. I’ll definitely be back for the new menu they released. Saw tons of fish and chips go out as well as the Sheppard’s pie. Looks incredible.

Service was good. Buffalo chicken & waffles was good. Not sure why they call it sliders. See picture. I guess it was served like a club. They had s large party do they were unable yo serve iced tea.

Went yesterday after seeing the restaurant mentioned on a British FB page. We enjoyed the sausage rolls for our appetizer. We had the haddock and chips and steak and mushroom pie with mashed potatoes and gravy. The fish and the pie were very good. Apparently there used to be more selections of British food on the menu but have been removed. The manager was super nice and was an enjoyable lunch. Don’t get the stick toffee pudding for dessert!

Very nice pub atmosphere- plenty of seats and very clean. I had the fish and chips which was delicious along with a couple of woodford old fashions, also really good. I’m sure to visit again when I’m in the area.

Suzie at Big Ben's Pub is an absolute gem! From having my drink ready the moment I walk in to her unwavering kindness, she goes above and beyond. Suzie's incredible work ethic is evident, and her efforts never go unnoticed. Even on my toughest days, she manages to bring a smile to my face, making the good days even better. Suzie's dedication to customer satisfaction truly amplifies the overall experience at Big Ben's. With such outstanding service, it's clear she deserves more shifts. Cheers to Suzie for being the heart and soul of the pub!

Fabulous place to eat, drink, and catch an Eagles game!! 🦅 On a weekend trip to Charlotte (first timers), we needed to find the perfect place to watch the Eagles play. Big Ben's did not disappoint. They far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in to the minute we left... 5 hours later, we felt welcomed, satisfied, and right at home! The management is informative. The staff is spot on, attentive, and friendly. The Eagles' memorabilia; new and old, makes you smile. Finally, brunch was delicious and the appetizers later that day were just as good! We hope to return soon.

Perfect spot to watch Premier League matches on weekend mornings. Fish and chips , and Shepherds pie were excellent. Mimosa and Bloody Mary drink specials. You may need reservations. We have been turned away for soccer games- all places were reserved in advance, bar stools too!

We were here for a world cup match, there were number of screens throughout the restaurant to watch games. The atmosphere was amazing throughout the match. They had limited menu during the world cup matches, nachos were good and empanadas was little disappointing. Fries were better and the bratwurst sandwich was little too mustardy but was pretty decent. Its a great place to get a beer and watch a game.

The fish and chips were ok. The Haddock was great a throw back from the UK. Chips mediocre and a tiny portion. Just steak fries. The tartar sauce was spot on. The side of coleslaw just had no flavourful just cabbage and mayo. Expected more for $17 . Service was so so it was early in the day. Waitress who took order was polite however never came back. The person behind the bar checked to see if the food was ok. But that was it. British breakfast looked small portioned where is the "Black Pudding"

Great food!! The manager is always working hard and their chef knows how to cook! Fish and chips is absolutely delicious and how they prep/cut the filet of fish is perfect (no bones and all cripsy yuminess!). Be sure to try the tartar sauce (so good!). The burgers are also on point and Steak and Mushroom Pie, you gotta try!

I'm a "Scouser" from Liverpool so it's my duty to drop in and evaluate the authenticity of any establishment on this continent hoisting the Union🇬🇧 Jack. The little meat pies were exceptionally tasty little treats. It was kind of an Americanized Yorkshire Pudding but nevertheless delicious! The curry sauce was also most probably curtailed to the American side and needed more Curry, Coriander and Tumeric. Other than my short stop there, it was a nice pub to visit. Than Q ⚔️💂🇬🇧💂⚔️

Food was great. Went for brunch and I had the English breakfast, boyfriend got the white chocolate raspberry pancakes and we both cleaned our plates. I've been going to Big Ben since the original location. The new location is definitely not the dark, cozy English pub of old, but it has its charm. My biggest issue was the loud music on a Saturday morning.

Friendly staff with unique personalities! Food is fantastic; I have yet to pick my favorite. Good beer selection with great drink specials. I definitely recommend this spot for a group outting or even a date night.

Great food and a good selection of beers. The pub itself has a lively atmosphere and has a very nice outdoor patio,

we just love Big Ben --- we eat outside all the time. Grey waves to the trains and picks up "chrystal" rocks :) The food is different and delicious. They have THE best fish and chips!!! I love cottage pie. We've never had the opportunity to enjoy the night life, but I have no doubt it is awesome too!!!

Great atmosphere, this time I tried the chicken curry and it was OK. The flavor was there the rice over cooked and the peas still hard but it was very tasty. I really enjoy the fish and chips and a Shandy

Food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent! Definitely recommend the Lord's roast beef! Our waitress was awesome, and she was also bartender at the same time , she handled it like a champ! Will definitely be back.

Our first time here. Just stopped in for a drink and to check the place out.Super friendly bar tender. Had just eaten lunch but checked out all the menus. Ended up staying for several drinks and conversation s with fellow bar mates. Kind of disappointed with the Scottish egg we ordered but will definitely give the place another try.

Great food, especially the English menu items. The steak and kidney pie is exceptional. A great beer selection too. A taste of the old country with the Fuller's London Pride. Attentive and friendly wait staff.

First thing. Service was mediocre. Took 15 minutes just to get my group a round of beer (changing out the kegs). Three people who arrived after us received their food before us. We ordered very basic meals. All around, just extremely slow. I do not recommend this place if you're on a lunch break. I'm not one to complain about the price of a beer, but $6.99 each? I can get a pitcher for $12.00 at almost any other restaurant.

I've been there twice and I've always gone on a Saturday, I won't make the mistake of going on that day again. The music is too loud, I'm trying to enjoy dinner and a good conversation - not have my eardrums blasted out. But the food is delicious. I'll just have to go during the week.
