Review Dolce Ristorante - Charlotte

Dyanna DaSilva
The food is absolutely delicious. The gnocchi was the main dish I asked for and it was to die for. As for the dessert we mentioned to the waitress that it was my daughters birthday and they brought an amazing chocolate cake with candles on it. As for the appetizer definitely recommend asking for the bruschetta! The restaurant is kid friendly and very cozy. It makes you feel like you’re in little Italy. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure to answer all of our questions.

I have passed by this restaurant 1 million times and never went inside! I can’t believe I’ve been missing out all this time! The atmosphere was so fun!! Between the homemade pasta, homemade bread and homemade desserts. I never wanted to leave! Service was excellent! Food came out really fast too!! I will be going back! Photos do not do it justice!

Legit Italian food with great service that goes above and beyond. My kids took me for Mother’s Day which can be a bad day to review a restaurant, but we didn’t feel crowded or rushed. The food was excellent, drinks were delicious, and the cannoli was in my top 3 of all time. We wanted a couple of things that weren’t on the menu, and were instantly obliged. If you’re concerned about individual cocktail prices, ask before ordering, as there is no cocktail menu, and they were on the expensive side. The upside is, if they have the ingredients, they will make anything you desire. The only negative at all was, to me, a big one. They advertise and tout the fresh, homemade pasta. Although we arrived 30 minutes after they opened for dinner, they were already out of all homemade pasta. Will definitely return, though, and hope they made a larger batch.

Food taste unique and authentic but too much oil in the sauce. Wait time was like 10 minutes. Sat outside with the family and there was water on the floor where we sat. The waitress cleaned it; however I noted more water after the cleaning. I guess there is a leak somewhere. They should have observe and not allow people sit there, as it jeopardizes customer’s safety. I hope they fix the problem before someone falls.

Tucked in the corner of a Harris Teeter dominated shopping center, the ambience is like a small Italian bistro in Tuscany. The staff are personable, adding to the ambience. I had the veal with lemon caper sauce, which I thought was good. But my wife was not as enthusiastic. Pasta dishes were large portions, some of our party took home leftovers. Service was prompt for a busy restaurant.

The food was delicious. I wasn’t planning on finishing the whole dish, but I did because the food was really good and well-seasoned (unlike other Italian restaurants where I found their pasta dishes to be way too salty). The atmosphere was very homey — the kind of atmosphere that you get when you dine in a local restaurant in Italy where the food is cooked with the owner’s grandma’s recipe. Our server was welcoming and hilarious. He made our time there really fun ☺️

This is stop 2 on my quest for the best Italian in Charlotte. So far it is the top choice but I have a lot more to try. The meatballs were the star of the show by far. They had such a great taste! The shrimp diavalo was a close second. My husband and I both decided when we come back we are going to ask for that dish but over pasta for an entree. The sauce with the shrimp was the tastiest sauce of the entire meal. We also had the prosciutto with burrata and the stuffed mushrooms. Both were very good as well. For my meal I had the Bolognese mainly because on this tour I have one of us try the simple meal with a standard red sauce. It was good. The meat in it was perfect. I wanted a more flavorful sauce though. My friend got the gnocchi and it had some chunky sauce with it. I took a spoonful of his sauce and mixed it with the Bolognese and it was perfect. If I get Bolognese here again I will ask for a bowl of that other, more tomatoey sauce to mix in. The gnocchi was pretty good although I'm not a huge fan so I can't say a ton about it. Obviously the sauce was good though. I also tried my friends veal marsala. It could have had a more masala taste in my opinion but the meat was wonderful and veggies that came with it were top notch amazing. For dessert I had the tiramisu. Also something I try on this tour. It was pretty darn good. Not the best I've had but it was a pretty perfect blend of flavors, not too dry, not too moist. I'd definitely recommend. I also tasted the limoncello cake which was mega lemony. I liked it but my friend thought it was too much. I also tried the cheesecake. It was pretty good but I believe it was ricotta based and I'm not super fond of that texture. The strawberry puree on the top was quite good. Also had a cup of cappuccino which was pretty delish. A couple notes. The wine list is decent. I don't think the servers are very well versed in it though. I asked for a great deep red and the guy recommended a Malbec from Argentina. I'm sure it was great but I was in an Italian restaurant with a ton of Italian wines on the menu so I thought that was odd. The restaurant is small so you're tightly packed and close to other tables. The bread with beans they give everyone was ok. I felt like the bread was a bit stale tasting to be honest but they do give you some pretty tasty vinegar for the table and that was yummy on the bread.

We have been to this restaurant time and again and have never been disappointed. We were there as a group of 8. We had timely service. We had David waiting on us. He did a great job describing the specials, suggesting the wines, and attending to our every request. Our stuffed mushroom appetizer was good. The freshly made in house pasta took each dish to a new level of excellence. I had the special of the day: fresh pasta with shrimp, crab and lobster in a creamy sauce with sun dried tomatoes and spinach. It was perfection. I’ve never had a better pasta dish. Compliments to the chef. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan which he loved, though it could have used a little more sauce. Everyone in our group was very happy with their choices. Dolce Osteria will continue to be our favorite Italian restaurant in the Dilworth area.

Rita outdid herself yet again! Portions were a good size. Extremely fresh ingredients, especially the calamari, everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Not dry at all, chicken and veal dishes were tender and juicy. Desserts amazing - it was hard to pick a favorite! The stuffed mushrooms and the meatballs are excellent. Dolce is a must try for sure!

Excellent homemade pastas superior sauces. Fresh seafood. Can't ask for more service was excellent. A nice wine list not expensive.

Our first time visiting Dolce Osteria. A great experience. Great menu featuring freshly made pastas. Our waiter was excellent and service fantastic. We'll definitely be going back !

Giving this place a 4 out of 5 only because of price to be honest and I typically don’t base ratings on price at all. But, a basic pasta dish $25? And veal with no side pasta for $30? And if you want to add a side pasta it’s $8? Pasta cost me 25 cents and I cannot imagine what a restaurant pays. Really good food, but, not sure I can be any kind of a regular for those prices. The place is not high end at all as well. Everyone was very nice and spoke to the owner who was also nice! But again, this is purely price for what you get. $50 bucks a head with tip and no alcohol? Not even a beer? Is very high. Wanted to leave 5 out of 5, but, wanted to make sure before anyone goes, that they look at the menu before they get a surprise

I am Sicilian and lived in Sicily for 10 years and Naples one year and love Italian food. The food here is absolutely fantastic, the homemade pasta is the real deal! We just moved here. This is my new favorite restaurant for sure. customer service and attention to detail is absolutely fantastic.

Wow, what a great experience. The food at Dolce is delicious and the atmosphere is authentic. Rita, a little Italian lady makes the pasta fresh everyday. You can see her pasta maker at the back of the restaurant. Everything that we ordered was delicious and good size portions. After our dinner some of the family came to sit and talk with us. Everyone is friendly and authentically from Italy. It was a great experience overall. Definitely check it out.

Came here for Restaurant Week and the meal was incredible! I started with the lobster bisque and had steak and vegetables for my entree - the best part was the tiramisu, which was one of the best slices of tiramisu I have ever had! They also have a great wine selection and the service was great.

We went here for my father in laws birthday. This is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in town. The bread is always so light and fluffy. The tuscan white bean dip they serve with the bread is very good. We ordered the lasagna, sorrento and bolognese, all with homemade pasta. You can taste the love that goes into each bite. It had the perfect amount of sauce and seasoning. Everything tastes great and is the perfect amount. Since it was his birthday, we all got a glass of prosecco and he got a slice or tiramisu. I would absolutely go back again.
Scott MacPhee
Seriously. One of the best meals we’ve had. Fresh pasta dishes were amazingly good. The ambience is small and casual with friendly and personalized service. How often does the owner/chef come to your table and ask, “Did you like the ravioli I made?”!!!<br/><br/>Prices are very reasonable, including the wine. <br/><br/>So sad this is so far from home or we’d become regular customers!<br/><br/>Go!

New ownership is not accommodating. They will not honor gift cards of any sort. Food is overpriced for the level of quality. There are many restaurants in charlotte that are much better for this type of food.
Daniel
Came here with a group of friends for dinner. The staff was extremely friendly, they moved tables around, turned on the heaters when we asked and accommodated our every request. <br/><br/>We ordered Frutti di Mare and the flounder special. The portions and food were good. The flounder topped with shrimp in a butter sauce was good but the Frutti di Mare dish was the best. The combination of shrimp, mussels and scallops in a spicy sauce was delightful, I was upset I didn't order this for myself.<br/><br/>My complaint is that the price is a bit high for the amount of food you get. A dinner for two with a glass of wine and a beer was $75. Yes the food was good but for that price you would expect some of the best in town and I feel like I can find similar dishes for less at other spots in Charlotte.

Food is great....service not so much. The interior feels like it is dusty & the manager is horribly indifferent to customers. They refuse to split plates in the kitchen...citing presentation standards...but presentation left A LOT to the imagination. With so many good restaurants, it is only a matter of time before Dolce closes...unless they change their attitude towards customers.

Expired griupon. A friend and I went into dolce for lunch with a groupon that was expired that had no stipulations about using the groupons at lunch or dinner. All my friend wanted to do was use her expired value. The manager told her she was to call groupon because it was their fault that they did not stipulate when the groupon was able to be used. The manager and the waiter were rude. I have worked in service industry for years and never had an experience where obviously is was the businesses fault and they would not accept fault. The food was mediocre, but because of how rude they treat their customers I will not be gojng back. How do they expect to create an environment where people want to become regulars by being so rude. What happened to the customer is always right?

Your daughter/manager sucks. Period.. Luisa, after eating in your restaurant since the day it opened, celebrating both of my children's birthdays yearly, tipping 25-40% every single time, sending friends, having showers and bringing clients...it all comes down to your rude daughter/manager. Our family has been loyal. We will miss Ken. He is awesome. We adored Petra and Carlos. Your daughter is rude and sucked at waiting tables because she has NO people skills and she sucks at managing. <br/><br/>Since the day you opened as Dolce and not Dolce and Gelato we have ordered our children a side of pasta. Didn't know a "kid's pasta" existed. We have been charged $3. Last night when I was charged $7 for 25 penne noodles and a "kid's pasta" I said to the waitress "I ordered 2 sides of pasta." <br/><br/>Your daughter then proceeds to come outside and tell me "someone has been doing me favors and she is going to fix this problem and I should never have been getting $3 side pastas for the kids." Excuse me. Favors? For my loyalty for 10+ years you accuse me of somehow stealing from you with "someone doing me favors." <br/><br/>Can you read your own menu that says a side of pasta with an entree is $3?<br/><br/>20 noodles with butter is not worth $7. Ask 300 East, a kid's pasta is larger AND cheaper.<br/><br/>Ken, we will miss you. Petra, if you ever head back from Raleigh with your beautiful daughter come see us. Hayley, good luck in school!<br/><br/>Luisa, fire your daughter. She sucks. She always has. She just lost you a very loyal customer because in spite of "someone doing me favors" it was the other way around. I did you a favor by being a loyal patron and allowing your restaurant to be such an integral part of our lives.<br/><br/>And, I recommend your daughter go work at Chick-fil-A, like I did starting at 12. They can teach her how to treat a customer.<br/><br/>Luisa, wake up. Your daughter sucks at people skills. She is rude and couldn't wait a table. Put her in the kitchen so she doesn't ever have to see a patron or interact with anyone and tell her to throw in a few more noodles for $7.<br/><br/>And, then I will do you a favor and consider stepping foot back in your restaurant again. On second thought, no I won't. <br/><br/>Maybe the reason why you always have to be on living social or groupon is her and her "management."<br/><br/>Sincerely, Your once Loyal Customer

Delicious and different. We are new to the area, I am buying groupons to try different places. I bought a groupon for dolce ristorante. So glad I did! We checked out the menu before we went. Some people in my family only like Alfredo or pizza. This was not the place for them. Too bad because the rest if us thoroughly enjoyed our meal!! The special was a group and shrimp dish - yummy! The Milanese chicken took up the plate and was tasty as well. We ordered a delicious Cabernet. Even with the group on. Dinner was pricey. The restaurant was cozy and intimate and the service was very good. Will definitely go back.

Terrible! For two people it took an hour and 30 minutes to get our cold, salty food. The waiter we had was nice and apologetic for our wait but this place is not worth your money or time. The bread is served cold with a bland bean medley. Also be sure to have a reservation because when we walked in, the entire restaurant was empty but they only had "one unreserved table". The host who seated us was snappy and rude. Will not return. There are so many better Italian places in Charlotte than this and for less money.

Changed my SIGNED receipt, Really????!!!!. Me and my friend went on Tuesday 6/24 sat inside next to the entrance. We were glad we made reservation and skipped the 40 mins wait. We sat down and waited about 40-50 mins when our food were ready. That's ok, I understand it's a small restaurant and a lot people and Tuesday night special....... The food was OK, and it feels like a decent restaurant. <br/><br/>Our check was $66.63, we had a coupon worth $50, so the rest of the bill was $16.63. The waiter brought our check, I thought my friend's coupon took care of everything then asked him for a pen. He was impatient the whole time, and told me in a really mean way:"you didn't give me your card yet!". Well, my bad for not knowing the situation. I was mad, and wrote $9 (14%) instead of a normal 15% or above tips. So the total was 25.63. Guess what, I happened to check my account today, it lists $30.63. Forgive me if there are other explanations such as I time traveled to the restaurant and changed my "SIGNED" receipt, otherwise, I really think somebody changed my receipt. <br/><br/>If you are not happy with 14%, go think about how to please your customers and make them happy; if you can't stand my question due to lack of information, you probably need to learn how to communicate with other people; If you need to change my SIGNED receipt, you better be careful.<br/><br/>My credit card company gave me $10 back which all I really need is $5, so I'm not here because I lost money, but to tell everyone to be careful of your SIGNED receipt, and don't sit on the patio or next to the entrance, because this is the area where this waiter hanging out. <br/><br/>I'll make sure I post this post everywhere, not for the $5, just hope nobody else goes through same experience. Of course, I'll guarantee none of my friends will go there.

Too expensive. Food and wine good but not great. $53 for dinner.

This restaurant is actually very amazing. The atmosphere is nice, with outdoor or indoor seating. Nice decor, and most important of all the food was very good. Good potions, well balanced meals, and the sauces is delicious. Ask for the appetizer special. It is wonderful! Will go again!
Margo
Went for our 17th anniversary used a groupon, I read some negative reviews & I must say those people have no taste!! Best food ever!! Great, speedy service! Even talked with owners daughter and told her it was our Anniversary, they brought us 2 glasses of wine to celebrate. We will be back!
Molly Kelleher
All that needs to be said is, "Gnocchi Tuesdays!" They make homemade gnocchi Tuesdays only and they are perfect pillows of potato dumpling goodness. Yum!
Larry
Very nice. Took advantage of my Groupon. I was surprised at the meal. I had salmon that was excellent., The spices and sauce was very flavorful yet didn't take away from the flavor of the fish. The meal was accompanied with polenta and vegetables that were very nice. My wife had chicken scallopini accompanied with an excellent salad. <br/><br/>This may not have been the best Italian restaurant I have ever visited, but as a world traveler, I would gladly go back again and I will. It was quite authentic. <br/><br/>The waiter Ray was a very pleasant chap and nice to have as a server.

A chain without the name. To be mediocre or not to be mediocre? Dolce has decided the latter. <br/>It is a franchise under the guise of a small business-where factory workers<br/>serve food, and machines make pasta. When you enter you will be greeted with a bowl of cold bread seemingly unrolled from a pepperidge farm tube with a cannellini bean dip tasting as if opened from a Campbell's soup can. The Caesar salad would have been better had it been taken from a Harris Teeter produce counter with dressing from a neatly vacuum packed plastic container. The main dishes arrived from a runner. The dishes were slung with the grace of a man slinging tar on a road. With an unexpected brilliance, the serving was appropriate as the food had little more complexity than the servers intimated. The meals had the texture of being microwaved first, then subjected to the blow torch of a heating lamp, thus conveying the taste of an industrial era metalwork-tinny and rusty with an after taste of pure negligence. After eating here, I respect Olive Garden and all they represent in terms of price line and quality of food.

Standout Sauces. Admittedly, I'm not Italian, but I do love Italian food. In my opinion, Dolce serves up some of the better sauces I've had at our local Charlotte restaurants.<br/><br/>I've been here twice and had their famed gnocchi on one occasion. It was ok, but I didn't think it was any better than Luce's version. <br/><br/>But their sauces are a standout. Really flavorful. And not too rich. Take, for example, their penne a la vodka. The sauce has great depth to it, like you can tell it simmered for hours before it made its way to your plate. The garlic provides a wonderful zing to it. I added shrimp for $2 more, and they gave me more than expected. And hurray, the tails were removed (I hate it when restaurants leave the tails on!)! My hubby--who never eats creamy sauces--kept stealing bites from my plate, he loved that sauce so much. <br/><br/>His fra diavolo sauce on the linguini with shrimp and mussels was well balanced as well. This is not your standard marinara sauce. <br/><br/>We didn't have reservations one visit, and they were able to fit us in on the patio. It was cold outside, but the heaters warmed the place quite well. And there were nice touches on each table, like fresh holly. We'll definitely choose the patio again!<br/><br/>Service was outstanding both times. The first time was during restaurant week, and they very efficiently managed a full house. On our second visit, we arrived right after eight parties had just submitted their orders, so our server said it would take some time to get our meals. I'm glad she warned us, and I don't mind waiting if I know the reason why. Even so, we only waited about a half hour.<br/><br/>Dolce is definitely at the top of our list when we want Italian food. I'm already craving the vodka sauce again, just writing this review!

Go to Carraba's Instead. If you want lousy service from servers who have an "I don't care" attitude, then go to Dolce. The service destroys the experience. Go to Carraba's, Mama Ricotta, or anywhere else. The menu options are extremely limited.
Kelly
GO On Tuesday!!. For the gnocchi, I had this with the prosciutto etc and it was so fabulous I almost ordered a second helping! The bruschetta was fresh and chunky, very sophisticated. I loved the tiramisu. It is pricy but so worth it.....gnocchi made only on Tuesdays, a MUST on your bucket list...
Kevin
Very underwhelming. Nothing tasted fresh and the menu was limited. Portifino's destroys this place in terms of quality.
Steven
Dolce was a big disappointment. I went in on a Tuesday night, the only night Dolce makes their gnocchi due to the "intense labor" they said that goes into making it. I started with the spinach salad that only had sparse appointments of the roasted beets, bacon, goat cheese, and pistachios. The balsamic vinaigrette was far too syrupy sweet. Onto the highly anticipated gnocchi......expecting a culinary delight, I was greatly disappointed with the quality - too soft and over cooked. With a variety of sauces to choose from, I chose the bolognese sauce, again with disappointing results. Expecting a rich, hearty, slow braised meat, veal & pork and vegetable sauce, typical of a bolognese sauce, theirs was sparse with meat and lacked any resemblance of vegetables. It was more like a vodka cream sauce. This was the third of three gnocchi dishes I had in Charlotte over the past 10 days and by far the worst of the three. Since I dined alone to use my soon to expire dining coupon and they would not let me take any item home, I also ordered the Solgiola, a dish described as a "rolled filet filled with lobster, shrimp & crab meat and baked & served with a creamy cognac sauce." It came out slightly overcooked with a fishy taste, again causing concerns of quality. The creamy cognac sauce looked very similar to the bolognese sauce except that it lacked the sparse bits of meat. The lobster, shrimp & crab meat was minced together into an unrecognizable form, far from my expectations of chunks and lumps of fresh seafood bursting from a flaky and delicate flounder filet. Served with it was a unimaginative and flavorless medley of green & yellow squash and a dollop of bland risotto, that appeared to be placed there to fill up excess space on the plate. At the recommendation of the server, I ordered the chocolate mousse. The presentation was an awesome display of a fluffy tower of formed mousse, a thin, horizontal chocolate layer that created a landing zone for the whipped cream dollop and a wedge of a wafer cookie. What it offered in presentation, it lacked in flavor. My dining experience was quite disappointing with the flavors far underachieving their full potential. The only saving grace was that I used a dining coupon and avoided paying full price.<br/><br/>The one star was given only for the presentation of the chocolate mousse.

The food was good but the service wasn't. I made a reservation but when we got there she couldn't find our name. We had to wait on a table. The Lil Italism lady is not as sweet as the reviews noted. Our name was probably not on the reservation list because it names were all scribbled on two notepads that she could barely read. Not worth the money. Wouldn't go back!

Stopped in for lunch. Setting is nice, staff is attentive and friendly, and of course the food was outstanding. Well worth a shot if Italian food is the order of the day.

Rude management. I had a most unpleasaant experience with the management of this eatery. First, the owner lost my reservation for Valentine's Day. When asked to make some accomodation, she was extremely rude and unpleasant. There are several good Italian restauranrts in Charlotte, I would recommend that you try one other than Dolce. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!. Went to Dolce and the place was overbooked, no tables, and told I could maybe sit on the "veranda." I had a reservation!!!!!<br/>Crazy red haired woman with a bad accent running and yelling at the staff!!! When we sat down we heard her say "make them hurry up!!!!" If I was in a hurry I would have gone to a drive through! <br/>Food was cold, over sauced and loaded with cheese and garlic. Nothing creative about this menu, filled with foods you can get at Olive Garden!!!!

Local Gem. My husband and I go Dolce frequently, we love the food, we love the people. They have a great wine list and the food is amazing, I've never had anything that wasn't prepared perfectly. It feels like an authentic Italian Trattoria. The Osso Bucco over saffron risotto was life altering, I still dream about the luscious flavors of that dish.
Melissa
Authentic. We sometimes forget about Dolce, but then we think: Oh, lets go back to that little Italian place on East Blvd. <br/><br/>Some complain that Dolce is too small. However, the size and layout contribute to the warm and cozy ambiance. Highly rated Chicago and NYC Italian restaurants, are not rated that way due to being as expansive as an Olive Garden. <br/><br/>The food at Dolce is delicious, the service is friendly and helpful, and the prices fit the value of the meals.

What a nightmare!. Was visting Charlotte for Easter weekend. My nieces, sister and I had a relaxing day planned. Lunch first and then a facial. Girls day out. My niece had purchased a Living Social promotion with a value of $50. Our bill amounted to 58$ and some change. When we presented it to our server he came back with it and said he could not honor it. We asked to speak to the owner. An older Italian woman with red hair came out and told us that because there were 4 of us at the table that we could not use the coupon. She told us that we should read the fine print. My niece tried to explain why we thought the coupon was valid, but the owner would not hear any of it. She walked away yelling at us. The real shame is that the food was good, but that owner is a nightmare.

Dolce is not a sweet dining experience. The restaurant is crowded with too many tables in the for the square footage..<br/>Service was slow and inattentive.<br/>The entrée was returned because it was too salty, no alternative was offered. <br/>Obviously a poorly managed establishment.<br/><br/>I could not find Dolce in any of the 'top 10 Italian restaurant' websites. Save yourself the frustration and visit other Italian restaurants in the area.

Horrible. I actually just left the restaurant. Me and three of my friends all went to the restaurant for the first time. It was tiny and very cramped. I actually got elbowed in the head twice by servers. I ordered a chicken ceasar salad. I get the bill and its 16.95 for a salad and water!!! The menu specifically says 6.95. But somehow I'm getting charged 10 dollars extra! So I bring it up and ask why I'm getting charged so much. Apparently I got served a "DINNER" salad even though I ordered a regular salad. I told the server this as well as an older lady, short, redish curly hair, accent, very rude that I was over charged. The server not only failed to ask and tell me that I was getting a dinner portion even though the menu says NOWHERE that that it what you will get no matter what. The older lady told me that its dinner time so that is what I get. I went on to tell her that that is not what I ordered and that the menu says ceasar salad 6.95 plus chicken. She began talking in circles saying everything over and over again. She blamed everything on the server who was nice just failed to tell me. She also told me that it was my fault because I ate the salad. Yes, really. She told me it was my fault. She said that I did not complain so it's my problem. She also said "You know what, your right mammi. It is my fault because this is not McDonald's and that is where you should be eating." Yep. She actually said that to a customer. I told the waiter that it was not his fault and told her that I would never be eating there again. I never will. I ended up paying 20 dollars for a salad, and to be honest, not a very good one. I'm still fuming at the fact that someone actually said that to me. It's not about the money, it's about what I ordered and what I was sneakily being charged for and when I asked about it I got yelled at. Classy.

Don't see what all the fuss is about. The menu was small, not many options. The wine list was great. Service was friendly but slow. Our server was so busy I tried to bus my own table for him. They needed one more person on a Friday night. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. If you're going to spend that much, go to Luce uptown.

Definitely recommend. I had the special for the evening, a lobster and spinach ravioli with gorgonzola cheese. so yummy! service was great. It's a bit pricey though!

Yummy!!! Very good Italian!! Wine list was great and reminded me of the great D'Vine Wine in Ballentyne!! I would recommend this restaurant!! Food did take a while though.

The top restaurant in Charlotte! I can't believe anyone doesn't like this place. Real Italian, no pizza or meatballs here. A nice and quiet family owned place. Go on tuesday for the hand made gnocchi!
ANNA
BEST IN CHARLOTTE. This little gem of a restaurant in Dilworth make you feel like you are in Tuscany. The home made gnocchi served only on tuesday night are like little pillows of heaven. Last week we had for special the osso buco with saffran risotto , crepes filled with butternut squash and ther rolled flounder filet filled with lobster, shrimp & crab meat. Everything was wonderful.<br/>The server are the best in charlotte.. sooo friendly and knowledgeble. Check them at dolceristorante.net

Great Italian. We were greeted by the owner, who was there even though the restaurant was very empty. She gave us a rundown of some of the most popular menu items and left us to it. Everything was great, and very authentic. The service was superb and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. I will definitely be trying it again.

Great food & service. We were greeted by an energetic and friendly woman who was either a manager or owner. She sat us outside to enjoy the weather, which was a perfect. The patio is nice, although it did seem a bit crowded. They serve bread to each table and it comes with a bean salsa which was unexpected, but flavorful and delicous. My wife ordered a salmon special, made with artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and capers all wrapped in phylo dough and baked. ($18). I ordered the chicken stuffed with spinach, ham, parmigian cheese and breaded before being baked then coverd in a mushroom sauce ($18). While there were other dishes available for a little less money, we both were thrilled with our entrees. It was one of the best chicken dishes I have had in a long time and the salmon was cooked perfectly. We skipped appetizer and dessert this time, but we did enjoy the decent wine list. We also have heard the gelato is really good. Overall it was a wonderful restaurant experience and I would highly recommend a visit.

11/27/2013 Charlotte has a number of Italian offerings, and on a weekly basis, I find myself driving by a small Italian joint, tucked into a Harris Teeter shopping center in Dilworth. The sign out front boasts Best of the Best in Charlotte Awards and it always piqued my interest.  On top passing Dolce several times a week, I kept hearing, through friends and coworkers, that Dolce served up some really good food. So when a Dolce Groupon popped into my inbox a few weeks ago, I knew I needed to snag it to give me a chance to check it out! (At this point, I will apologize for the lack of photos in this post.
