Review 204 North Kitchen & Cocktails - Charlotte

I had a good experience, the staff was friendly and accommodating. I had Queen MJ as my server, she had high energy. I ordered the succotash risotto it was a succotash with a twist plus it had cheese in it, it was okay, I was expecting the traditional succotash when I ordered, it wasn’t too bad though. I also ordered the salmon with truffled mash potatoes (which either the garlic or the truffles were overpowering the dish) along with glazed carrots( I didn’t taste much of the glaze) overall my meal of choice was okay. The manager Michael was attentive, he checked on me twice to ensure everything was going okay (lol I guess I was awkward dining alone on a date night day, everyone was mostly coupled, besides one girls out group) but it does have a great date ambience, the lights are set nice and I defeats vibing to the music. (I actually had a first date there last year) the last time Manager Michael checked on me he advised me to come back on either Sat. And Sunday, they have brunch. I haven’t been yet, but I do look forward to checking out their brunch, the restaurant has two levels and upstairs is open on the brunch days. I’ll keep you posted. 😉

A friend and I dined here for brunch. The atmosphere was very cozy yet classy. There was no long wait as we were seated upon arrival. The servers were super friendly and the manager (Michael) was very helpful in ensuring we were taken care of. He recommended the shrimp and grits and it was amazing. We also tried the deviled eggs. They were deliciously topped with a Cajun fried oyster. The chef was definitely cheffing that day. Everything was amazing. We will be back soon. But in the meantime I highly recommend this restaurant!

We were there for a night before celebration and had the top floor. The staff was so nice and friendly and the food, which was set up as a buffet for about 60 people, was possibly the best food we have had in a while. Who would have thought you could have fine dining quality in a buffet setting. The shrimp and grits were the star but barely because everything was delicious.

The food was great! The entree menu is small but they have the staples that folk look for when dining. They have a ton of appetizers!! Nice and clean environment.

The Aranchini 😙👌🏽 amazing! The crab cake was amazing too. The new bartender was so kind and attentive. Super helpful and just overall great! We will definitely be back. The waitstaff was also great! Kind and funny - very interactive with the guests.

Nice spot for my spouse and I. We sat at the bar. Experiences good service. The food was okay. The drinks were delicious. The deviled eggs were a bit salty however we are definitely looking forward to returning to explore more on the menu!

Went in for quick drink before a show. The place was busy but not full, and we even managed to get a sit at the bar. The place is very nice and has a great vibe to it. The service was friendly and professional. We had two great cocktails and a small plate of calamari which was fried and delicious. Had a great time, and will definitely return to try more drinks, and also the food.

It's just a regular place. Somewhere to hang out and have a cocktail (not a fancy one). The food is overrated. I definitely rather to try a new place than coming back. The visit wasn't really bad but they have a lot to improve, and you can say the lacks of service are just because the staff ain't being prepared nor supervised to provide the guests with a real experience.

We were in town for an event with my friend and saw 204 North Kitchen so decided to try it out. I ordered avocado toast but it needed more salt and flavour, also waited to be seated and served way too long. Took them about 15 minutes to bring us a menu.

Reservations are highly recommended for 205 North Kitchen. Luckily reservations can easily be made from right here in Google Maps. A lot of the tables are very high tops, so make sure to request a low table. The food was good and we really enjoyed the service. Sides are sharable portions! Their drinks all have a unique twist but are very good. I got the tiki drink in the pineapple glass. Overall was a good evening.

Good restaurant with a great environment. The food was great and you get good portions for what you pay for. The only reason I did not give it a 5 rating was because the deviled eggs were a little too salty. Otherwise they were good.

Make sure you make a reservation. The burger I had was good and hit the spot. It's a clean establishment and has a cool cafeteria type feel to it. Watch out for the tall blonde who seems to be more intrested in taking pictures of the food and making snide comments to patrons (me). I am sorry I was told I did not need a reservation when I tried to make one.

Very good and friendly service. Food was great. We were going to the show and everything was perfect.

I was looking for Sunday brunch and was extremely disappointed with my dining experience. Staff was nice but the cook put my other party's bacon on my plate and said "y'all family right". I ordered a farmers omelette/with biscuit, but I didn't realize it contained meat, I sent it back, the waiter returned with my plate with the omelette minus my biscuit. Finally, received the bill and noticed the bloody mary that was sent back was still on my bill. Told the waiter that drink was swapped for a strawberry lemonade- so the price should change. He came back and said the strawberry lemonade is $6 because the drink had no real price point. Food was supbar with premium prices. I would never recommend or return to this place.

I'll start off by saying our server was excellent he was friendly and engaging and had good recommendations he did his best to turn around things that were beyond his control. The real problem with our experience came from the lackadaisical kitchen. As someone that works in high-end restaurants I'll say the back-of-house really needs to get it together. The lamb chops are pale and unseasoned -- no salt, no pepper and they're even cold. This is one of their most expensive items and has no flavor or inspiration behind it whatsoever just bland Swiss chard and cous cous. The swordfish dish was delicious though. The lemon vin really brought together the flavors but it again had cous cous which was already on our other entree. Showed the kitchen isn't forward thinking because out of like eight entrees you shouldn't have to repeat sets that your food comes on. After sending back the lamb we decided on two apps instead of another entree. We ordered the shrimp app and deviled eggs which were topped with fried oysters. The shrimp had an overall good flavor and nice texture with the breaking but the weird thing is they drizzled regular mayonnaise around the shrimp which totally made it taste weird. The oysters on the deviled egg weren't really seasoned and the egg was cold so it was a weird contrast of hot and cold and creamy and crunchy flavors. Then there came dessert. Which, if served hot like it was supposed to be, likely would have been delicious. We ordered the cobbler and upon arrival it looked so delicious... but unfortunately it was cold. Like not even a little bit hot. And was served in a cast iron skillet so it almost seemed impossible to not be at least warm ... but it wasn't. I'm not sure I'd eat here again given the food experience, safe yourself some time and money and check out a different spot.

Went for brunch and everything we ordered was amazing! Biscuits and gravy appetizer was by far the best gravy I've ever had. Ordered chicken and waffles and vanilla French toast. Both were delicious, but the French toast tasted like a piece of cake. So good!! And a mimosa to top it all off. I would absolutely recommend!

Wonderful find during a trip to downtown Charlotte this weekend. There are many good restaurants in downtown Charlotte so what differentiates 204 North from the others? The farm-to-table entrees were excellent - as examples the pork tenderloin and vegetables were paired and cooked perfectly and the shrimp & grits were some of the best I've had in recent memory. As for atmosphere it's rustic and cozy - a great place to spend time with family and friends. If you're into spirits - you are in for a real treat with the handcrafted, unique signature cocktails. I certainly recommend a trip to 204 North if you're in the neighborhood.

Party of 11. Everyone loved and was amazed with their dinner choices!! From the flank steak, pork tenderloin, meatloaf, yes meatloaf plate, shrimp & grits to the beef bolognese.....just simply scrumptious!!!

Mushroom ravioli was great as was the carrot cake. Salmon was hot, but fishy and pretty dry. Sides that accompanied my salmon were barely lukewarm. Even on restaurant week it was pricey. Had I paid full price I would have really been disappointed.

We had dinner reservations for 8:30 on Friday night. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was attentive and helpful. The food was amazing- the pork belly and fried green tomato appetizers were spot on. The shrimp and grits were delicious, and the flat iron steak was cooked to perfection. Cocktails were just right, dessert was probably the least spectacular (though still delicious). We will definitely be back!

Wow. Comfortable and very good. Easily one of the better places to get a tasty libation and a bite to eat in the crowded uptown food scene. Not as loud as a bar could be but a little too much for a whispered conversation.
