Review The Flying Biscuit Cafe - Stonecrest - Charlotte

This had become our favorite breakfast place in the Charlotte area. We have tried several dishes and they are all delicious! Their fried chicken and potatoes are so good throughout their dishes. The fried chicken is bland like most chicken and waffle dishes you have at other breakfast restaurants. Their grits were flavorful. Everything is complemented with their amazing biscuits and apple butter. They have a lot of coffee options for coffee lovers. The environment of the restaurant is ecclectically beautiful. It has an artsy vibe giving it a unique and welcoming atmosphere. It feels local and makes you want to stay.

We haven't eaten here in a very long time. We have missed the healthy options and the delicious food. I had the Flying Biscuit Breakfast and he had the Smoked Salmon Scramble. The grits were simply divine. The biscuits truly tasted homemade. Loved the cranberry apple butter. Our waitress, Tiffany was very pleasant and provided great customer service. Overall our experience was exceptional.

I’ve always love eating here. Food is always so good. Staffs are my favorite since they always makes you feel welcome. Darcy, the manager, is so sweet and attentive! Love them!

This is one of my absolute favorite breakfast places ever. I always get the chicken tenders, oatmeal pancakes and potato’s. Everything is absolutely amazing. The oatmeal pancakes are so soft and tender. Highly recommend.

We went there after many years during holidays. It was busy. Service is quick food is excellent. Love the fried green tomatoes. I don't eat meat so the waitress offered to replace the chicken sausage with soy however I did not want that so they gave me grits and scrambled eggs with the waffle basket that was nice of them and it made my meal hearty. Staff are kind

Good food. I ordered pancakes with eggs and turkey bacon. My mom had the fried green tomatoes. That was enjoyable. My other friends had omelettes and one had steak. There were no complaints. This is a popular place. Worth visiting.

If you're looking for a good breakfast, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a great breakfast, hospitable staff, and generous portions, then this is the place to enjoy breakfast (at any time of day).

Excellent service, fast, and delicious. The service team here are on point. Nice greeting from the hostess, there was a slight wait, they texted us in under the estimated time. The menu had several options. I had the eggextravaganza..great portions. Biscuits are sprinkled with sugar, and the have great apple butter at the table. I never had to wait for my coffee and water to be topped off. Service was fast and friendly. Ample parking in the shopping center and nice outdoor seating. A must visit again...if you go check out the fun ceiling tiles.

Breakfast was Eggcellent. Food came out to us perfect and fast. Everything was delicious. Service from Tiffany and the rest of the staff was friendly and fast , no waffling about in this place. The Flying Biscuit will get the ❤ marker on Google maps so we can be sure to come back.

So Natalie welcomes me this AM I was having a terrible busy morning. She was hospitable and patient. I order a to go order and bc she was so warm and accommodating I came to eat my portion. I like the options. There is alot of food for the money. It has great diner bar vibe. The biscuits are amazing 👏🏿 😋. The grits are off the chain. I LOVE LOVE SAGE SAUSAGE (CHICKEN) 💕 EGGS 🥚 WERE FLUFFY AND LIGHT. I tapped out and could not eat all of it which says alot. I highly recommend this place and it's definitely getting my #krack approval. Come see them in Ballantyne, worth the drive!

The overall experience at this Flying Biscuit location was pretty good. I went on a Saturday and it was obviously packed—but the wait wasn’t too long (~20 minutes). The food was pretty good and the staff was very friendly. My only complaint is that the menus we received were not clean. My menu had a dead bug (looked like a gnat) stuck to the menu. However, this could happen anywhere. I ordered the biscuits & gravy, a side-order of bacon, and another biscuit on the side. Overall, I’d still recommend this location.

This was me and my wife first time here and I can’t complain at all I have never been happier got our seat in 20 minutes and placed our order and wasn’t expecting the food to come out so fast Tiffany was our service and she did great I would definitely come back and eat with them again the next time I’m in charlotte

While visiting Charlotte for some work. We saw this lil place in a shopping center and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Extravaganza with French toast bacon chicken sausage creamy grits Scrambled eggs and a biscuit. My husband had something similar but without the French toast. The grits are made with white cheddar and they're super creamy almost like a rice pudding. The chicken sage sausage patty was delicious could not tell the difference from a regular pork patty. The Apple butter which is on the table is smooth and delicious. The French toast had a custard almost cake like taste. It was very good. Would definitely come back and probably bring a friend.

The food was pretty good, but the omletes are more like scrambled eggs. Cream Cheese has dill in it, but you can barely taste it, I recommend this on whole wheat toast. Chicken Sausage patties are pretty yummy. Will come again had no issues with a table or service.

always delicious!! Delicious sweet tea and the only place I order shrimp and grits 😍💖🦐 It's a cozy place with close seating so be careful with large parties and strollers ☺️ they are extremely accommodating nonetheless!! I was able to go in on my wheelchair, A+!!

The fam visited The Flying Biscuit today for the first time and will definitely be adding it to our list of restaurants. The hubs ordered “The Best I Ever Had” which came with eggs, grits, your choice of meat, and their version of French Toast. He really enjoyed the meal. My son ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and chips which he loved. I had a meal (forgot the name) which included a Belgian waffle, two eggs, choice of meat, grits, and a biscuit. The cheese grits were seasoned perfectly, the bacon was fried crispy, and the eggs and biscuit were fluffy. The waffle was ok. My family dined inside but outside dining is an option. The atmosphere was great and our food came out quickly (no more than 10 mins after we ordered). Our total bill was $52. The only complaint was our waitress was also the bar tender so refills took a minute. Overall, a great experience.

This location has a lot of character, the decor takes you to a unique and colorful space despite the beige surroundings. The hostess was pleasant and the servers were attentive. It's a popular dinery so be ready to wait, it's worth it! And of course, try the biscuits!

This place was such a disappointment! One of the people in my group raved about the restaurant back in her hometown in Florida. Turns out the Evans, GA location is absolutely nothing like the rest of the chain! We waited outside the restaurant for a half hour. Then, we had to wait even longer for our food. Seemed like the waitress forgot about our order altogether. The name implies there should be biscuits in the restaurant. Nope! No biscuits! No rolls, either. The customer service was shoddy. Everyone's meal came out at a different time! The waitress said one of our meals was dropped on the floor and had to be completely redone. It was closer to an hour before my friend actually got her meal! Mine had a nasty hair in it which sure didn't come from MY head, as it was underneath the food. When I brought this to the attention of the waitress, she went and got the manager. He was completely useless. He said the cook in the kitchen needed to see it. Seriously?! He left with the plate and never returned! Nothing was taken off our bill. Not a damn cent! I will NEVER eat here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone! Spare yourself and eat somewhere else- ANYWHERE ELSE!!

Went here for breakfast in October after I had heard plenty of friends talk about it. Honestly not so sure what all the hype was about as there are better places to grab breakfast in Charlotte. Nothing here was of poor quality, but nothing was great.

I have eaten here a bunch of times. I have yet to find anything I actually have enjoyed. Service has never been great. One time I was there and the roof was leaking on my table and they did not do anything for us. There are other better options for breakfast locally and I would search them out
Shelby
Super good! They make it feel like a one-of-a-kind joint. The turkey hash and chicken sausage gravy are the bomb.

Staff stop writing reviews. Nothing but the biscuits are original. And they are fair at best. Everything in this restaurant is packaged. All they do here is open packaging from bulk packing they ordered from the huge warehouse for restaurants. Even the honey for the biscuit came in the small package tube. Seriously wouldn't you think they would have fresh homegrown honey for their "famous" biscuits". Coffee was terrible go across the parking lot and get FRESH GROUND from SB. I had to cut the vegetables in my omelet to make them bit size, so I could eat it.
The staff was grumpy and our server at the bar was very unpleasant. Come on it is morning... who wants to be greeted that way first thing of the day.

This restaurant has the most mouth-watering breakfast food! I am a native Charlottian but have been in college for 3 years and every time I visit home, I must eat breakfast here! The sugar-dusted biscuits with apple butter will leave you speechless. Better yet, the creamy, dreamy grits will have your mouth watering for more!! The texture is so smooth! Oh and the hash browned potatoes are nothing short of delicious either! Nothing will be left on your plate! Guaranteed! :)

Decent Breakfast Joint. I usually do the Oatmeal Pancakes with Peach Compote or the Flying Biscuit breakfast with chicken sausage (a little spicy) eggs how you want them, a biscuit and grits which are good. They have good apple butter too. The service is good and they serve you quite fast. I would not recommend the Turkey Hash. One of our friends had this and it is not the typical hash, It came is eggs sunny side up on top of several chunky pieces of turkey and huge chunks of potatoes., not finely chopped like you might think of hash being.
She was not pleased with the dish. But overall, it's a good place for breakfast.

Ever since the pregnant girl was shot there I can't go..and even before then I didn't like it

I keep coming back. But there are some problems. Everytime we ask for scrambled eggs soft, they come back hard. You could lift it like an omelette. We usually send it back 2-3 times. Sometimes, my wife says nothing and sets it aside. For that we get a credit. But it's soo stupid. Just make them right the first time. The hasbrown potatoes taste like cardboard, but the grits are great.
I love the scrambled tofu, so I guess we will keep coming back, but sure wish they would get better in the kitchen. We do love and thank the wait staff.

Love This Place. I love this place. I am not from the south and I didn't like grits until I tried them at Flying Biscuit...they are awesome. The biscuits are delicious as well as the turkey bacon. But besides the breakfast items the other menu items are worth trying. The Turkey burger and shirmp and grits are delicious also.

Terrible experience. Cold/Stale Food, Poor Service. Won't Return!. Whoever said it's impossible to screw up breakfast has obviously never been here. We ate here on Sunday morning two weeks ago. We were seated outside on the patio (our mistake due to the scorching heat) and no one acknowledged us for at least 15-20 mins. We saw many other tables over the course of our meal receive the same treatment (we were all completely ignored).

The server who finally acknowledged us to take our drink orders was super rude and not at all pleasant. The sweet tea tasted terrible. We first incorrectly received unsweet tea, only then to nicely ask if we could get sweet tea. The sweet tea was not any better--- sour. It was probably another 30 mins before the food came out. It felt like an eternity.

The food we received was nothing short of awful. The 'healthy sausage' (only sausage option they had) was completely impossible to even chew. It was like rubber. The biscuits were rock hard. I could go on and on, but nothing was good. All of the food was very cold. For the prices they charge, I expect the food to at least be halfway decent.

I have been to other Flying Biscuit Cafe's in other cities, and they have been decent. They at least bring a warm basket of biscuits while you wait. If I were you, I would stay away from this place. This business will not survive if they continue on this track.

Oh flying biscuit! How I love thee and your eggsceptional eggs! Best dish on the menu with a cornucopia of well blended and surprising flavors. A close second? Turkey pot roast. Insanely tender and satisfying!

Decent food, good atmosphere. Friends took me here for brunch on a trip to Charlotte. There was a 20 minute wait for a table, which wasn't bad. I ordered the turkey hash, with turkey pot roast two eggs over medium, cheddar cheese and rosemary potatoes. The turkey wasn't mixed in with the potatoes, the way I usually picture corned beef hash, but was instead piled on top of the potatoes, then topped with the eggs and cheese. Not necessarily bad, just a different presentation. I'm not sure if it was the turkey or the potatoes, but the seasoning was overpowering - not sure if it was the salt or the rosemary, but the more I ate, the more I became unable to continue. I actually left more than half the potatoes, something I never do, because the seasoning was too much. I had to steal my daughter's apple juice to rinse the taste, and three hours later I was dying of thirst.

My daughter had the oatmeal pancake and turkey bacon. The bacon was a bit too crisp, but entirely edible. The oatmeal pancake was thick, and seemed a tad bit underdone, but my daughter seemed to enjoy it.

The biscuits were huge and lightly dusted with sugar, just enough for a hint of sweetness with out tasting like a dessert biscuit. The apple butter available on the table was yummy.

Favorite place in town. I love this place (park road only) they get it right every time and the food is incredible. Not your average menu.
would recommend it to anyone

So rare for me to find a restaurant I don't like. I was impressed at the beginning when a worker who was finished with her shift an leaving, took the time to seat me and hand me a menu. But the waitress who was taking my order took her time coming to me. Granted it might have been busy; nit sure if she is the only waitress working. I ordered the High Flyer, which, according to the menu was "two large farm fresh eggs served with our signature chicken breakfast sausage, creamy dreamy grits, plus an organic oatmeal pancake topped with warm peac compote and served with maple syrup". Their eggs were fine, not sure if they were large. Their "signature" chicken sausage was not impressive. They were tough and looked more store bought frozen sausage just heated up. I had choices to substitute for the grits and I ordered a cup if fresh fruit. Should have gone with the grits since I didn't get them until I asked for them. The oatmeal pancake was good but I was expecting it to actually come topped with the peach compote instead of the compote being put in a separate cup placed next to the pancake. This confused me because I thought my cup of "fresh fruit" was a cup of "store bought peaches in syrup". The real fresh fruit, which they are, took a long time coming to. Overall experience was rather disappointing.

Great time!. Great service, great food and I especially liked the lighter fare options they had and the outside seating ambiance.

One of our favorites. we enjoy lunch and dinner more than breakfast. Love the grits and biscuits!!

Just okay. I had the Biscuits & Gravy with eggs. My son had the eggs, biscuit, turkey bacon combo. Nothing great. Gravy wasn't good. Biscuits were good, but not the greatest. There was nothing wrong with it, just very blah. Won't return.

I love this place! We always eat breakfast here. However today we noticed the biscuits were much smaller and not as fluffy.... What gives? Still great food though!

Been several times. Disappointed as of late. Potatoes were stale, nothing else was very exceptional.
Cindy
Too small, but good food. Wish the place was bigger. The line can get a little ridiculous. Love the tomato soup and the shrimp and grits.

Not just for breakfast!. Wonderful and creative options for all meal times. Seating is a bit tight at this location, but some would consider it very cozy. The new location off of Providence has more room, but not a lot of drink specials...yet.

A Healthy Twist on American ('s). Love it, a fresh new fair of great flavor, and a touch of healthy difference in a world of supper fried- supper sized. Wish they had drive-throughs on the interstate because it beats all interstate food fair. I'll be back as the governor of a certain state once said, but with the taste for good food, which I have no doubt I will find once again within the doors of the "Flying Biscuit". PS not one Biscuit was seen air bound.
Vanessa
The wait was well worth it. The food actually came up really quick so it wait wasn't so bad after all. The waitress told us that the French toast was the reason she's works there. We knew it HAD to be good. It was delicious! Also Tge Cajun chicken scramble was good too. I will def go back, I want to try everything on the menu!!
Denise
Best breakfast place in clt. This is actually the best breakfast place i have found in charlotte. it's one of the only places that you can find whole wheat everything- pancakes, french toast, even whole wheat biscuits! the apple butter is yummy and pancakes with fruit on top. PLUS you can get breakfast anytime. love it.
Chris James
It's ok. South Charlotte lacks a good bfst spot. Flying Biscuit makes me feel like I'm in Asheville. The food is OK - the atmosphere is great

Went for the first time, biscuits and French toast were outstanding!
Jen Ware
I'm not a fan. They serve only turkey bacon & the biscuits are a cross between a yeast roll & biscuit - not a flavor I enjoyed. The rosemary potatoes are obvious frozen and taste a bit like freezer burn. Sorry to be so harsh, but there wasn't anything I enjoyed about this restaurant.
Vanessa Smith
The food is all organic. The biscuits are great but that's about it. I hate everything I have ever gotten there. Not a great kid place to eat.
Ella
A wonderfully funky cafe! They offer a wide range of items that are not easily found in other places. The biscuits are to die for - and I'm not even a biscuit kind of gal. I get several to go for breakfasts throughout the week. YUMMY!!!!!
Kristin
Amazing! The food is incredible, the fried egg salad is my favorite!!
Robert Nulf
Just fantastic. What nice addition to the south side of the city. And there's a good reason for your having to wait in line once in a while to get in: the food and the service is wonderful.
Bob
Yuck!. This placeis ok the food isn't that good for the price

Great Biscuits!. I went here one day for lunch with my daughter abiut a year ago. The food was delicious, but te biscuits were heavenly. I have never had a biscuit so good ina resteraunt before. They have a menu that offers lots of choices, including organic and vegetarian options.

The food execution varies greatly. Consistency is definitely an issue. And, unfortunately, with several of their signature dishes that means it’s either very, very good or very, very bad. I’ve had the Vegan BBQ Burrito when it was great! But when my partner recently ordered it, instead of draining the collards, the chef apparently just dipped some collards out of the pot and flung them into the burrito, along with about 1/4 a cup of “pot likker.” Result: a super-soggy, awful mess. And, I’ve ordered the Tofu & Tater Salad when the tofu was definitely NOT marinated like the menu said, but just cold, plain, fish belly white tofu crumbled on the salad with a shake of tamari sauce on top. Yum! Plain room temperature tofu! Woohoo! Glad I’m paying money for this (not)!
The Fake Foodie
Started my easter sunday with breakfast at the Flying Biscuit Cafe . Im not usually awake early enough to even consider breakfast but today was the exception. I ordered the Egg-Ceptional Eggs which came with....
Fervent Foodie
EVERYTHING about this breakfast was delicious. Well seasoned, crazy good flavor, and no grease to be found. I can’t believe we haven’t been to Flying Biscuit Café before. They even had this amazing apple butter on the table that tasted of pure fall bliss.

I love when we have friends visiting! We go to some of our favorite restaurants :-) On Sunday morning, before our friends headed on the road back to DC, we decided to get brunch at one of our favorite breakfast places: The Flying Biscuit. I don’t think we
