This is only my second time at Sonny's BBQ. This time I went thru the drive thru. Ordering was painless and service was friendly. We ordered the Carolina sandwich and the brisket sandwich. Both were delicious. Everything was good. They give you their sauce in packets and lots of it. I'm glad because I love their sauce.

Gr8 family oriented bbq joint!!! Think our server's name was Debbie n she was on point, knew the menu inside out and recommended based on what she's had n not just cost to inflate the tab. Had the smoked wings as an appetizer, fell off the bone, didn't need any bbq sauce at all, the cornbread muffins were fresh and had to top w/ cinnamon butter!!! There's a salad bar, all u can eat w/c had a wide variety to choose from. Appetizers - fried pickles. My hubby had the smoked turkey n I had the chicken 1/2 as our entree. Pics below

Their sweat and Smokey ribs are always amazing! All their sides are great too! I particularly love their cornbread, beans, okra, and coleslaw! I love Sonny’s BBQ but I am so incredibly sad that they have discontinued my absolute favorite BBQ sauce!!! They did sill have a couple to-go packets when I was there so I still got to use it this time but I am so sad that’s it’s gone!!! I really hope they decide to bring it back!!! Their Mild BBQ sauce was amazing!

Great southern BBQ style food. Take away from the store is the older waitresses are awesome and try their best to fulfill your needs. In my case Sharene (78 years old ) is very charismatic and hardworking.
She tried to give me all kind of spicy sauces to satisfy my taste buds. Also she like things hot. My respects to the elderly.

Would highly recommend to anyone passing through Charlotte! The pulled pork was mouth watering! The brisquit and macaroni rolls were a must try! Pictured is the sampler platter and the pork trio. Buffalo mac and cheese bites with buffalo ranch and sweet BBQ sauce. Also gotta give a shout to sharon our waitress who was probably my favorite part

Ordered through Uber Eats, but actually quite impressed. The brisket was pretty moist and not dry, sliced pork was *muah*, and giant chocolate chip cookies were very rich. I recommend the sliced pork and chocolate chip cookies. One word of advice: get a variety of the sauces. I did NOT care for the smokey one, so I'm glad I also got the sizzling sweet.

I went there for a Takeout order. It didnt take long for my order to come up. Also I noticed this location did have a drive thru. I ended up getting the Smokin Gun(jalapeno cheddar hot links, brisket, banana peppers, red onion, and mustard sauce) on garlic bread and an order of tator tots. One of the cashiers was really helpful. She put 3 of the BBQ sauce options in my bag for me to try since I told her it was my first time there and I couldn't make a decision on which to get. I enjoyed my sandwich. It can be quite messy because all of the ingredients are chopped down to smaller sizes so they fall off of the sandwich easily. The sweet and sizzlin sweet sauce were my favorite. The smoking sauce I didn't like as much but maybe it will be a better fit on a different meal.

Love Sonny's, went there everyday I was in town! Best BBQ around! Try their brisket or maybe their pulled pork on a bun with coleslaw, mmm mmm good!!! Can't wait to come back to Charlotte just for Sonny's!!!

We came to Sonny's while visiting in NC because is the only place I've found with sliced pork. I love a sliced pork sandwich in their garlic today. The macaroni and cheese is delicious. We came at lunch on father's day. I was surprised at how many open tables I saw. Pikachu came along. He approved.

I never had a bad meal no matter what location I visit. The service is quick and friendly. I know there are a lot of other BBQ joints that you may think are better but you always know what you will get from Sonny's BBQ. Fantastic food.

Food was perfect, and service was even better. Desiree, our server was prompt and we never had to wait on her. My husband got the all you can eat and before he was even finished with one plate she was at the table asking if he was ready for a re order. She answered every question we had, and even gave us her personal favorite suggestions! I rate this place an A+ for both food, and service!

Visit this place yesterday. The customer service there was terrible waited 30 min for my food which wasn't hot and to top it all off it was a piece of hair in my plate! The server never told them we needed a replacement plate! I wish they had a 800 number

We go to Costco frequently and sometimes stop for Q at Sonny’s. I been there when it was a 5 but yesterday it was a 1. Seems like if you don’t eat there when they are extremely busy and they are serving just cooked, just cut/pulled meats, then you probably aren’t going to be happy. I do think this is a problem with all BBQ restaurant - a long way north of Sonny’s is a new Q place called “City BBQ” (I think) in Huntersville. I think it is the very best in town. For what it’s worth, I was a contestant in the very first “American Royal” BBQ contest in Kansas City and I’ve had the chance to eat at the very best BBQ restaurants in the Midwest, “Sonny’s is far from being in their league.

It was my first time at Sonnys and I was very impressed. I had the sampler plate. It was delicious, every type of meat was. Loved the mac and cheese also. My server was Carol. She was outstanding! Very friendly and kept my sodas coming.

Well coming from Florida where Sonnys was originated.. I was not impressed with service. Oh they don't even have corn fritters on the drive thru menu? And then gave me them WITHOUT the powdered sugar? When I asked for some I got a few sprinkles nothing like it it suppose to be. The Sliced BBQ on Garlic bred was still great tho. I really wish that the Floridian CEO would come up and get things in gear tho. Nothing like a Florida Sonnys :) I am thankful for the one in Charlotte tho÷

Disappointed! They have changed their menu, literally removing half of what they used to offer and then raising the prices! All the food seemed like it was not fresh and heated up in microwave. It was a Friday night and there were just a handful of patrons... we should have known then! Sadly... not returning.

My wife picked up lunch for me from Sonny’s today. I got the smoked turkey meal. I was eating it and noticed the number 2 was stamped on a slice of the turkey in a light red ink . I’m not sure why it’s there but I was not comfortable eating it. I would post the photo of it but that’s not an option in my review. I would take it back to Sonny’s but it’s too far to go at this time.

Im from SC.. The next time I eat Sonnys I will go to GA. We had a sonneys here in A neighboring town which recently closed after 15-20 years :( my very first Sonnys experience was in Panama City Beach Fla. I was very disappointed with this location after having had top notch food and service at other locations

It was very hot in there I ask the girl why she said so close to the smoker pit ok I got over that then my fries were very cold cornbread very cold and fish straight out of the fryer I could tell it was frozen. And wth I'm in North Carolina no vinegar bbq sauce. Plus the price is ridiculous not a good place to eat just saying

I want to thank the staff at the Tyvola store for making our Thanksgiving dinner the best we have ever. We have never been tradyionationalists and chose to have BBQ and since we were going to Charlotte we decided on Sonny's because it's my husbands favorite. We live in Creedmoor so we don't get to Sonny's that often, so we knew we were in for a treat. You staff took very good care of us and there is no better BBQ in our words. Thank you again for putting a smile on my husbands face.
