Review Villager Pub - Charlevoix

Our family had lunch here on vacation. It was a beautiful day, and we were able to sit outside. The fish and chips were delicious. My daughters had chicken strips and mac and cheese bites. They both enjoyed those. My only complaint was that each meal had a pretty small helping of fries. Everything tasted good, though, and we enjoyed it

Party of five. Seated quickly. (Luckily) fast & friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Whitefish dinner was average and expensive. Good burgers and blackened whitefish tacos.

Loved the fried walleye sandwich & delish hard cider. Lots of specialty drinks. Friendly wait staff. Family friendly & also seating outside, if you have a dog with you. Reasonable prices.

Friendly service; tasty food. Blackened walleye and raspberry creme brulee were delicious!

Outdoor dining is nice. Order the Whitefish, No Tarter Sauce needed, and I ALWAYS use tarter sauce.

Our first visit to the area,this was our first real restaurant experience here. The person waiting on us was super nice and quick. The food was hot and delicious. Would have like a bit more light being that it was mid-day and rainy. Thank you Villager Pub.

Overall, a solid pub with decent food and good service. Definitely casual, a local watering hole that gets the job done but won't knock your socks off. Good value.

Best fried pickles I’ve ever had, and possibly the best blackened Walleye and white fish too. Doesn’t look much better than a hole in the wall, but the service was great and so was the food. High quality and very fresh ingredients. I’ll be back again.

This was a great place to grab a no-frills bar meal done well. The staff were so friendly! We started with the fried pickle spears, I had a burger, and my friend got fish and chips. All were cooked perfectly, well-seasoned and served hot.

So excited to have fresh fish options that come right off the boats on Lake Michigan! All three of us ended up with the 2 piece whitefish meal after deliberating. Our server was exceptionally patient, professional, efficient and courteous. The other 2 enjoyed their adult beverages that I skipped as the driver. The photo is my plate with a bite of fish missing on the bottom left corner. The French fries are underneath the fish and coleslaw is in the cup on the upper right corner. We are spending an afternoon in Charlevoix. We chose the Villager Pub for lunch. It is a beautiful afternoon and we have an outside table and are enjoying this wonderful day. Good variety, well, prepared food! I asked our server what was in the fish chowder. And the owner and chef Terry overheard me and offered to bring me a sample. I’m so glad he did because it was very good. I ordered a cup of it to go along with cheese curds with marinara sauce. The chowder is not too thick, perfectly seasoned, and chocked full of fish and seafood, and homemade noodles. My companions had the chicken salad on croissant which they said was wonderful. What is them also ordered the soup of the day, corn chowder. She said it was excellent. The homemade/from scratch quality is worth noting. Terry chatted with us. Terr was very pleasant, friendly, interested in us, asking questions, and it was just an all-around exceptional experience. We did not order fish except in the chowder, but it is all fresh from this area. I highly recommend you try The Village Pub. Terry also showed us a menu from his fine dining restaurant called Terry’s. Next year when we’re up here, we will plan to try Terry’s and I already know I plan to order Walleye Meunière!

I don't visit Charlevoix often, but when I do, I always get the Whitefish. No where else have I been that does it perfectly. Never fishy, never overdone, no skin to eat, soooo goooooddddd My daughter's grilled chicken was perfect and my nieces burger was delicioso

Great food and service tonight. Atmosphere was like a typical pub but not overly loud which was awesome. The food was top notch. Would definitely recommend the fried pickles, good pickle flavor and a nice crunchy breading. The shrimp dinner was great advertised as beer breaded. Many many places I've been say that their stuff is beer breaded but the flavor is dry bland and nothing to write home about. Tonight though this beer breading was amazing. You could actually taste the beer flavor and it just worked perfectly with the shrimp and the onion rings. I had the blackened white fish which tasted wonderfully. If you're worried about spice, this wasn't too spicy and I am somebody who does not like spicy foods. The best part for me though was the raspberry creme brulee. I'm so used to seeing vanilla creme brulees that when I saw this on the dessert menu I knew that I had to have it. Raspberry flavor was great with pieces of raspberry inside of the creme brulee as well. The perfect end to a perfect meal.

Very cool place with fun decorations of old cars. Great beer selection, the fish was fantastic, and the atmosphere relaxed. We will definitely return!

Very busy place on a Sunday evening. The onion rings were great, the blackened whitefish sandwich was very good. The service was exceptional, and the place was running like a well-oiled machine.

Arrived late on a cold Sunday evening. They were quite busy but seated is at a cozy both immediately. I had the broiled Blackened whitefish and my better half had the fried whitefish. Both dinner to perfection. This is the first place we have eaten at in Charlevoix and it was fantastic. We'll be back!

You must stop in here if you're in Charlevoix or better yet, go to Charlevoix to stop and eat! You will not be disappointed. Terri has put his heart and soul into this incredible restaurant and the art on the walls takes you back in time! There's something for everyone, young and old plus the food is amazing!! The staff is the best of the best!!

A huge thanks to the Villager for making our dinner a special one last night as the family, 15 of us, dined before the upcoming wedding of our son. The food was amazing, as usual. And our server Lindsey was the best. Thank you again for accommodating us!

Good service. The Blackened Whitefish tacos were very good. Your Black Agnus burger was also very good. I never have had a bad meal all the years I have stopped here when visiting in Charlevoix.

Got the perch, found a few bones, potato was luke warm. Finally got water after asking 3 times. Never got appetizer, but wasn’t charged either. So that’s a plus. My daughters BLT was good.

Great service,cozy place. I had a patty melt that was grilled juicy and the fries perfect.It'll be our go to.

Food could be better, noticed that the owner was very rude to his staff. Won't be returning.

Got the fish n chips. Perfectly fried, no grease. Fries perfect! Our server was very attentive and friendly. Prices were not outrageous. Never been here before in all my years of coming to Charlevoix, but I will certainly come back.

First place I go to when I come home from California. ..best white fish ever <3

Great food! Had an Olive Burger and it was really good and great service even thou they were really busy with the car show event.
