Original Joey's Place

Great place to go when you're craving meat. The food is good overall, but I'm partial to the Combo Beef and Sausage. Would like to see them branch out a little and offer a Chicago style beef with red sauce and mozzarella. Burgers are pretty great and they've got the best gyro in town. Get onion rings for your side. The price to portion ratio is reasonable so you get a good value for your money. Dining area could use a little TLC. It's very clean but is a bit run down and needs some upkeep and some ambiance.

Overall, this place is great!!! Mark is a great person and we gladly support this business. My review is based on the last three late night delivery orders. For some reason, the cook must hate the onion rings! The picture tells the whole tale as they are burnt to a crisp and simply inedible. We’ve had the onion rings numerous times during a day delivery and they’re great! I know with Covid things are hard and good help harder to find. We are thankful that Joeys is still in business, however this needs to get corrected.

The gyros were wonderful but my Chicago dog was horrible and so rough I could barely eat it. Then the guy made some smart mouth comments and laughed about being arrogantly rude. We drove almost an hour one way to eat there and wish we wouldve just went to a local place. Its gone down hill since I lived in Charleston because it was such a different experience then.

Boy have things changed. I suppose it's to blame on covid 🙄. It what everyone else blames their newfound short comings on. Joey's was my absolute favorite restaurant when I lived in Charleston. I moved back to Neoga last year and today I decided to take a special trip, all while gas is $4+ per gallon, just to go to Joey's. Used to have the best burger in town. Now, the Bun is twice the size of the burger. I'm seriously disappointed. I obviously won't make that trip again.

Placed an order for pick up and was very rushed on the phone. Orders 2 sandwiches waffle fries mozzarella sticks and 2 sprites. I get there 1st there was no Sprite. That's fine just wish I would've been told when I ordered them. I pay go out to the car and check the other I have 2 curly fries instead of waffle fries and mozzarella sticks. I go back in and tell him he rudely says well we don't have waffle fries. I said the menu says you do...Well we can't get them anymore. Now I'm irritated bc he's being rude and borderline yelling at me. I said then why didn't you tell me this on the phone. No apology I said I'm still missing mozzarella sticks he goes and drops them in the fryer. When he comes back shoves the bag at me.... worst customer service ever. And I get home to eat and the marinara is awful it was red water with chunks in it completely ruined my sandwich
