China Gourmet

My friends and I chose to stop into a buffet for the second day in a row while on the road from a concert. They have a decent range of options, including more seafood than is apparently average in this area, and they had a variety of sushi. Most of the food was good. The Crab Rangoon in particular were some of the best I've had in a buffet setting. The service was prompt, and the restrooms were fairly clean. This is a pretty good buffet to stop in for lunch.

Update: I gave it another chance, and the issue has been corrected. I’m leaving the text of my previous review, but changing it from 1 to 4 stars. Original review: Food is not bad, but management is dishonest. I went into the restaurant at 1:50 on Thursday afternoon. Over there Mongolian bar, which is their food prepared in front of you option, there is a sign that gives the hours of the bar as open. It says on the sign it’s open from 11 until nine. So, I got one serving, and then went back 15 minutes later at 2:05. The man working the bar (who was quite rude about it) said it was closed and put up a new sign that was not displayed before (On the back of the original sign that wasn’t display). The sign says that the bar is closed from 2-4 This is an absolute ripoff, and they do not properly notify guest about this. I am very disappointed because the food is good, but I will not be going back.

Under New Ownership and New Name P&L something....Salad Bar has changed and no longer has as many items on it. They still have the Mongolian grill but I personally was never interested in that. They are only using the one buffet line to serve from and very limited. When I was trying to look three the steamed up plastic to see what they had to offer, I was being rushed through with only my husband & daughter there. Then if I didn't choose what the guy was trying to give me, he was getting angry! Seriously?? Then we had to pay $12.95 a piece because it was Saturday evening. That meal was not worth $12.95...they didn't even have ice cream in the cups any longer....come on....get real!!....Won't be eating there again! Really missed the old owners!! They were very nice. All the prices have raised $2.00 more....for less...get Chinese from China One, China Buffet, or China King.....

This restaurant has a good variety of items in their buffet that I dont normally see at other buffets. Lots of seafood. The quality of some of the items could be improved, but nothing was bad. The only smile I saw from the staff was when they wanted payment, but they were attentive and took our dirty plates promptly & refilled my water before it got empty. Very affordable buffet.
