Far and beyond the best meal we had during our stay! If you love food and can swing the price this is THE place to go. The food was outstanding, the staff were amazing, the atmosphere is intimate. Highly, highly recommend

Visiting from Boston..I don’t usually leave reviews and was a tad concerned based on some of the prior reviews, but this place exceeded expectations. The following comments are geared towards some of the negative concerns previously mentioned. The tasting menu service was top notch and very well timed, not rushed at all. At $85, this is a totally reasonably priced tasting menu. Supplements are very standard in tasting menus, so I’m not sure what the gripe is with them being offered here as well. Of note, the wagyu offered is added to the final fish dish as a “surf and turf”course, not in lieu of the fish….adding even more value to the meal. The richer dishes had proper amounts of acidity incorporated to help cut through the sauces and such. Overall, this spot exceeded expectations and I would totally go back….having a tasting menu dinner with a cocktail at just over $100 pre tax and tip is beyond reasonable, something like this in a major city would easily be 2x the price for the same level of service and execution. Do not hesitate to give it a try!

Went with a group of 5 and this place was mostly a hit. The food was delicious. The wine pairing left us wanting. While the last two pairings (with the lobster and the chocolate torte) were perfect, the ones before did not complement their courses well, which was slightly disappointing. I also found it difficult to hear the sommelier from the other side of the table, though the overall ambient sound level of the restaurant was pretty good.
I would recommend Wild Common for food, but the wine experience could use improvement. Everyone in our party did like the cocktails though.

There is street parking, pay to park, or there is a small parking lot at 216 Rutledge Ave around the corner. Small portions but excellent tasting food! Hints of French and Japanese cuisine.

Fantastic meal. Restaurant is worthy of the accolades
Beautiful setting. Calming and Zen-like. Love the projected wall art analogous to the ‘Van Gogh Experience’
Service is attentive, friendly and ‘casually intimate.’ Love the vibe
Food is a modern and creative fusion where Asia meets the Low Country. Wonderful preparation and attentive plating. Everything excellent, but my favorite was the ‘fruit salad’ (their dessert, and I’m not a dessert guy). For the more ‘mature’ among us, think a semi-melted Good Humor strawberry shortcake bar meets a pint of melted pistachio Ben & Jerry’s - refreshing, creative and oh so yummy!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Chef's tasting menu is one of the best meals I've ever had. Yes, it's expensive but it's also a two hour experience in a peaceful setting with attentive, knowledgeable staff. We arrived a little early for our 7 pm reservation, we were seated promptly and had a delicious cocktail. The first course was served about 7:20. About 15 minutes between courses. We opted for the wine pairing, but if you're not a wine enthusiast (I'm not) it's probably not worth it. Next time I go, I'll pass on it. We also opted for the "Eggs Benedict" for $95 which is only a single serving. While it was wildly delicious it's pretty pricey for a single bite. Our tab, without tip was $500 for two. We had a great experience and plan to visit again.
Overall a wonderful experience, would highly recommend to anyone looking for an extravagant dining experience.

It was a wonderful atmosphere, not noisy at all. We did feel a tad bit rushed during the service is all but the food was great.
The only things that would of made it truly stellar would be an explanation of the dish. I enjoy being fully immersed in the experience of eating food, here I felt I was just eating not much feeling.

We had a wonderful experience eating at Wild Common. From the time we walked in the service was amazing and the restaurant was beautiful. This is a tasting menu restaurant. All you have to do is sit back and relax and enjoy the food! What I loved about this restaurant is that every single dish that came out the chef or the sous chef came out to explain the dish and the ingredients. I would definitely go back if I’m in town to visit again!

We’re from Switzerland, but always try to eat at one of charleston’s best when we’re visiting family. So glad we finally got a reservation while we were in town, as it was impossible last time we were here during Christmas.
We came here for our 8 year Charleston wedding anniversary and we’re greeted with a congratulations and a complimentary glass of champagne. Considering this is the sister restaurant of Zero George, and we were offered nothing, I already had a great first impression.
First of all, the space is amazing - very modern and open, and tables are not too close so your conversation is still private.
The tasting course consisted of 3 bites (similar to amuse bouche, but you’re paying for it 😂), a starter, a main, and a dessert. We didn’t do any optionals as we were super disappointed at Zero George and didn’t want to risk spending so much money to be disappointed, but after our time here I’m sure it would be worth it.
The Sous Chef brought out the bites and explained a bit about each - it seemed like he was reciting lines from a script as there was no passion, but I guess since the executive chef wasn’t there, he needed to ensure everything would be conveyed as the boss would say it. A bit disappointed the chopsticks on the table were the same one time use kind you get at any Chinese takeout, and not reusable kind.
The suckling pig dish had a lot going on and am not entirely sure if I loved it, but it was still delicious. Unfortunately my camera was already drunk by then so the picture turned out blurry.
The rest of the dishes were great.
I did the wine pairing as my husband was driving, and the Somalier is SO MUCH BETTER than at Zero George.
The wait staff - these are the people that make dining here such a memorable and pleasant experience. Thank you to Kenneth for making it such an enjoyable dinner! He even pushed the chair in for people when they sat down, and folded their napkins while they were away - I’ve never seen this kind of service at a non-Michelin restaurant.
The Somalier is also very knowledgeable here, but the selection for digestifs are very limited to bottom shelf (but I guess ok for American standards?). I’ll bring some European digestifs (Etter Williams Birne for example) for comparison :)
Hope to come back next time with more friends so we can do the chefs table! Thank you again for a lovely experience!

Best meal we had in Charleston! First of all the entrance to the restaurant is stunning. We sat on the chef’s table which was the best choice. All of the staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. Nadia who took care of us was great. The chef even came to explain to us how he prepared one of the dishes that we loved. Everything from start to finish was delicious. My favorites were the grilled oysters with tomato butter and the scallop. The peach dessert was also so so good! I could have had another one. I had the bramble cocktail and it was delicious, sweet yet refreshing. Looking forward to coming back next time I’m in town.
