Island Breeze - Charleston - Photo album

Real, friendly, wonderful food, inspirational setting, warm environment to meet, eat, play pool, talk about poetry, politics, love, and Lowcountry life. Mosquito Beach is a timeless gem in an ever-changing Charleston. This place is a dream...
The rum punch is way too good...I would recommend going ahead and getting the larger one because you will end up ordering more anyway. We were driving back to Charleston from Folly Beach and saw the sign on the road and decided to stop in for one drink ...and ended up staying all afternoon. The ow
Norma the owner was a perfect hostess. I ordered the fried flounder/shrimp/oyster trio and coleslaw. The trio was served warm skewered, but the breading was too much for me. The domestic beer was only $3 and the staff made up for the food. I should have made a different choice. Overall a unique view
I love Island Breeze! Norma is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met and she will make you feel right at home. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. Plus, there’s a beautiful view of the marsh and patio seating. Highly recommend the fried seafood.
Beautiful quaint little spot. Everyone was so friendly and the vibe was so chill. The fish was so good and the beers were nice and cold which felt good in the hot humid summer. There was a live band jammin to some reggae. Great time. Can't wait to go back.
I ordered the oxtail plate and my Mother in law ordered the seafood trio; fish, shrimp, and scallops. The oxtail plate was very generous with 4 pieces of tender oxtail, a heaping amount of rice and peas, with a side off cabbage salad and sweet plantain. The plate was very authentic and 1 of the bes
This is one of the best experiences, I’ve had in a restaurant in a very long time. The environment is comfortable and relaxing. The food is cooked with passion. We tried every food item of the menu and each was cooked to perfection. I found my favorite restaurant and “ I from downtown and down cu
Island Breeze is one of my most favorite places, the inviting & positive atmosphere is a breath of fresh air, not to mention the excellent food. Norma & Norm welcome everybody with their friendly hospitality and great service. I have worked with them planning special events and will continue. I high
I love this James Island secret Gem! Right on the marsh, friendly owners and the most authentic Jamaican food I have had since being in Jamaica! My favorites are the fried fish, cabbage salad, jerk chicken (not spicy like Americans mistakenly make it), the oxtail IS TO DIE FOR! Norm and Norma the o
This is by far the best food that I have had since visiting Charleston. The food is incredibly delicious. The price is affordable. The food is artistically presented. The taste is mouthwatering, and also tasty. I highly recommend this place to anyone visting.
Charleston area classic, really like visiting family or neighbors. It's so laid back and everyone so friendly, the house speciality rum punch and island-inspired food will only relax you more. Mosquito warning though..if eating on the porch, bring your own repellant.
Loved the food - felt like I was in Jamaica again. Owners couldn't be nicer. I had the jerk chicken (perfect), peas and rice, plantains, and cabbage salad. Very reasonably priced, too!
This is a gem on James Island. Norm and Norma are super awesome people. The Food is out of this world good! No A/C but it’s part of the experience! I love this place and will be back often.
Norman and Norma are working on bringing Mosquito Beach back to it's glory days. Great people, food and island atmosphere. Give them a try or two. We shall return.
My favorite spot for a meal and a drink after a day on the water! Off the beaten path, Island Breeze is a reminder of the old south with a Caribbean feel. Sit on the screen porch and relax. Keep in mind, you are on island time when you go here, city folks just don't get it!
Great place! Friendly and fun. Beautiful views! Sit outside have a beverage! Love the jerk chicken! The owners are great!
