Thought this would have been a cute coffee shop despite the reviews and given the downtown location, however when you walk in there is zero menu board to start with. You have to wait until you get to the cash register where it is taped to the counter. More than half of the menu was crossed off… so I just got an iced coffee. Big mistake. Worst coffee I have ever had. I would love to know why the girl behind the counter poured a little coffee in the cup, than proceeded to put SINK water in my coffee to fill the rest of the coffee cup. Made absolutely no sense! Threw it away as soon as I walked out the door. I am all for supporting small local businesses and not big businesses like Starbucks but I will not be returning here.

Tricera Coffee is an awesome place for all of your coffee and coffee related needs. It is conveniently located in the middle of everything and has dinosaurs all over the place. Dinosaurs and Triceratops in particular make coffee much better. Friendly staff and quick service. Cool place.

I have tried to like this shop and support small business, but the quality is very up and down. The service is glacially slow (again, small business, I can accept that), but it is slow even when you are the only one in there. The food was always limited but what little they do offer has gotten even slimmer. I understand that times are hard but I got a bagel with cream cheese the other day and by the time I got back across the street to my office, the thinnest schmear of cream cheese I have ever been served had absorbed into one side of my bagel. I get that you can't be wasteful as a small business, but I guarantee that my $3 bagel had about 2 cents worth of cream cheese on it. Just overall very disappointing and definitely won't be back.

Such a Good spot. Such good vibes. Atmosphere lacked a little. Barista was great on the machine quality coffee. Didn’t do pour overs though :(. My son loved it as they had toys.

I walked in with my wife and it seemed cozy. The shop was out of the drink I wanted. No problem, it happens. Girl behind the counter suggested another drink (London Fog tea). So far, okay... Got the drinks and walked out. First sip and it is not a London Fog. There has to be coffee in it as we watched her use the espresso machine. Thought it was weird, but hey maybe they know something that I don't. As I was a block away, my wife called and got no answer so we circled back to the shop. Apparently, the shop had just closed, but the employees were still inside. As my wife stood out there making eye contact, she called. They continued to stare and not pick up the phone so we could ask a simple question. The lack of effort put in by the employees to help a customer despite JUST closing their doors and us having been there literally five minutes prior at most is disgraceful. I do not recommend and will not be returning. UPDATE: The owner responded (see below) and the following are my thoughts: 1. I am not dumping on this small business as they claim. We came to Tricera to support local businesses instead of big chains. We could have easily gone to Starbucks if we wanted to, but we know how badly this pandemic has hit small businesses and their struggle to stay open. 2. As stated in the review, we did try to go to the business directly. My wife stood outside the door making eye contact with the two employees inside and knocked on the door as well as called the phone number WHILE MAKING EYE CONTACT WITH SAID EMPLOYEES. Therefore, this review was not a knee jerk reaction. 3. As a tourist from another state, I'd be hard pressed to "go home and make it the way I want it". Even if I wasn't a tourist, it is my prerogative to go into a business and if the service or product is not up to my standards, to seek a resolution with the staff. That did not occur through no inaction on my part. 4. The tea didn't "ruin my day" as the owner suggests. It was the attitude of the employees that rankled me. If the response from the owner is any indication of the attitude of the business, then it doesn't surprise me that the employees acted the way they did. 5. Good to know you don't put coffee in your tea...

My god, just terrible. The bagel sandwich I had was inedible due to the meat on it being questionable/spoiled my girlfriend's latte and mine both tasted terrible as well. Probably the worst coffee shop in all of Charleston.

Tricera's espresso con panna is significantly delicious: they make their whipped cream in-house! Yum! I topped mine off with a little sprinkle of sugar in the raw :)

Tricera was so fun! I've been to more than my fair share of coffee shops, and have never seen a dinosaur themed one! My mocha was great, but my husband couldn't finish his chai frappe because the flavor was way too powerful for either of us. Seating is limited, and because they have a bigger food and drink menu, it is a longer wait, but nothing too too crazy. They also had a help wanted sign in the window, so it probably wasn't by choice that there was only one woman working on a Saturday. Overall, I'd recommend it for a quick breakfast on the go!
