Very cute and cozy coffee shop. When I arrived, their line was 6 people deep, so plan accordingly. I worked from here for about an hour or so. They offer self-serve bottemless coffee, which is wonderful if you're hanging around for a bit. It is a smaller shop and can get loud if you're trying to do remote meetings.

My girlfriend and I were planning on going to the downtown area of Charleston but ended up getting rained out. We wanted something else to do near where we were staying and decided to take a chance on a little coffee shop. The shop itself is clean and cozy, the pastries were incredible, the coffee was even better. There was even adorable sample sizes of coffee grounds that make 8 cups of coffee which we bought two of. The staff is knowledgeable and very kind. We took the food + coffee home for a nice brunch in bed. We couldn’t have found a better place to stumble upon!!

I LOVE this coffee shop! I loved it so much the first time I visited it that I worried it wouldn't last. Thank goodness my worries were unfounded! The coffee is wonderful, the pastries are scrumptious, and I love that they sell local goods. Plus, I had my first date with my partner here 7 years ago--it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Amazing coffee! I am visiting Charleston and am big on good coffee! I was happy to find this roaster and experience a tasty oat milk latte. I went 2 times, got one iced and one hot- both were yummy! I’ll definitely make the trek next time I visit Charleston.

I really like this coffee shop! I have been here a few times now and it has a great vibe. The coffee is really good as they have selections from Central America, the prices are cheap, and the staff is super friendly! They also have sample packets of ground coffee for purchase or you can have them ground up some beans of your choice and get more to go. Definitely recommend this place!

We came in just around 9am and didn't have to wait long for our order. Efficient service, good drinks. They have an amazing selection of coffee beans with great explanations of origin and flavors. We ordered a bacon/egg/cheese and sausage/egg/cheese croissants, and they were delicious.

visited on Sunday August 27, 2023 in the early afternoon. Not sure how this place is staying open. The two young women who were wait staff were rude, unfriendly ungrateful, and appeared to be lazy. Placed my order order and they did not start making it until about four other customers drinks behind me were made.
if you are looking for welcoming, southern hospitality, don't open the door to this place. Coffee was passable.
** this is in response to owner's reply: appreciate your response. was with my husband and son, they too wondered why mine took so long. i totally understand if error made, but staff said nothing, not a hello, a thank you, not a word about time it took, zero communication. hopefully it was just a one-off instance, but i will spend my money where feel welcomed, not as if we are bothering them. Sad, because prefer local businesses. glad to give another try!

I have been traveling to different local coffee places on my adventures and this is one to remember. The taste is smooth and their pop tart was delicious!

CCE is the best around for coffee! My wife and I do not want coffee from anywhere else. The staff is great and friendly. You can't find a better selection. If you want coffee to take home (beans or ground) or a delicious Honey Latte - this is the place for it!

I’ve tried almost every coffee spot in west Ashley and this is by far the best. The employees are super nice and the coffee is amazing. Highly recommend the lavender honey latte.

The coffee is pretty good here, I had the espresso and they're using a darker roast so it's more of a bitter taste but well managed and still quite nice. Charleston coffee exchange also has a decent selection of pastries, the muffins are pretty good as well. They also sell coffee bean and have numerous varieties that you can try to get the best coffee that you like.

Delicious! Just had an oatmilk cappuccino. The coffee is so flavorful. If I lived local I would come here often

My husband and I go there every morning before work. On the mornings that we can't get there, we can certainly tell the difference in the day. It's not just the wonderful coffee that makes this place, it is the incredible people who work there. They are like our little family. The customers are all pretty great too. We could go on forever but they make that little space that they're in very welcoming and cozy. To us, they are a true treasure and we just feel so fortunate to have them so close to home. Pam and Todd Morgan are their Biggest Fans❣️

This place was the coolest! I saw the long line and was thought ok there has to be a reason that people don’t mind the wait. I completely get it! The coffee was delicious and the variety of drinks and pastries was amazing. They had it all! I ordered a frozen coffee and a box of coffee. I went with their in house blend and wowie was it a good choice. Great coffee with great flavor. I can see why this place gets busy, it’s delicious!

My wife and I have been coming here for almost a decade now and have never had a bad trip. On top of the great coffee is great food to pair with your drink. And for the kids they love the smoothies. One of a handful of places that we go to, that every single trip we are just as excited as the first.

This place is awesome! Best vanilla chai tea I have ever tasted!! They also have a lot of varieties of coffee. The people there are super friendly. I go here every weekend.

I love love this place! The coffee is wonderful.... quite a variety of beans, drinks- hot/ cold/ decaf. Used to be a caffeine only person. Had to back off but didn't want to sacrifice my favorite experience of the day, or the flavor. The baristas have kept me caffeine free for 2 years! So, you can Have it all plus more! The more - Best Baristas in Charleston!!!! Friendly, fun, real and technically astute!! Great meeting place to actually hear your friends too. Visiting? You must go!!!!

Charleston Coffee Exchange is like the "Cheers" of coffee shops. The staff is friendly and the clientele is full of regulars. Pull a chair up to the coffee bar, grab a table or sit outside. Love this place -

Good to the last drop. I have family in the area and stop in whenever I,m in town. The coffee and food are always great. The staff are always friendly. They started roasting their own coffee a couple of years ago and Paul, one of the owners, does the roasting and is really knowledgable and into his beans. I like the coffee so much I order beans on line and have them shipped to my house. It is locally owned and has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I'll keep coming back whenever I'm in town.

Eh.. So I really hate to rip on a local venue, but after several visits of trying to make it work at Charleston Coffee Exchange I have to report I am not pleased. First of all, a coffee shop should smell like fresh-brewed coffee and not like Yankee Candle Co. The overly sugary aroma is off-putting from the coffee I expect to purchase. Secondly, a double espresso should fit quite easily into a demitasse cup. Moreover, a traditional machiatto should as well. The 4 times I've tried to order one there has fallen nothing short of a bad latte (cup full of foamy milk and watered down espresso). Even when I've specified that I wanted mine very stout (as in 'traditional') I have gotten a solid 4-5 ounces of watery, bitter brew. Of the 5-6 times I've visited, besides being slow and clearly not knowledgeable, the staff was, however, very friendly and the shop was clean and well-arranged. I would love to continue patronizing this business, but they'll need to improve a lot to win my affection.

Nothing short of excellent

Neighborhood Coffee Joint. The staff is fun and friendly and the place always smells of freshly roasted coffee. This is pure and simple the modern day answer to the neighborhood pub.

We sampled the cafe mocha and pumpkin spice latte. The mocha was thick and creamy, and surprisingly mild. That’s not to say it wasn’t chocolatey, but the flavors of chocolate and coffee actually seemed to be working with (rather than against) each other. The pumpkin spice latte was a nice seasonal treat, though it was a tad bit sweet (and heavy on the spice). It was still quite good, and we’d definitely go back. They also have some great looking baked goods, including NY crumb cake that actually is almost as much crumb as cake, as it should be.
