Betty Lou's Bistro

My wife and I are in Charleston for a film festival and we were looking for a restaurant with healthy food near our hotel. We found Betty Lou's Bistro in West Ashley and we were surprised how amazingly good the food was. We had their Pimento Goat Cheese with Baguette Bread as an appetizer and for our entree, my wife got Ceasar Salad and She Crab Soup and I had Ceasar Salad and a Chicken Caesar Wrap with Butter Beans. This restaurant has the freshest food I have had in a while and their Ceasar Salad is Amazing! They make their own Ceasar dressing and if you like Ceasar Salad, you must come to Betty Lou's Bistro. The portion size and food quality will make you come back, like I will do. I highly recommend Betty Lou's Bistro!

Small laid back place with kind of a small menu, but man everything on it is phenomenal! My main regret is not getting more photos and not eating enough! The service was great as well. Definitely a must eat place if you’re looking for good southern cooking In a nice relaxed environment. Makes you feel like you just left granny’s house after a Sunday family supper!

What wonderfully delightful bistro! I have been here a few times now and I truly enjoy the food and taste. The service is great, the food is excellent, and portions are perfect. Betty Lou's is not a large place and depending on when you get there you may have a small wait. Everytime I've been there you can expect your food to come out a lil slower than expected but it's cooked to order and worth the wait! Apps come out fairly quickly. The fried food is excellent, seared scallops amazing, she crab is yummmmmmmmmy! I hope you enjoy this place as much as I do, I'll definitely be back.

It was my first time to try the much raved about South Carolina she crab soup. It was delicious! We had the fried green tomatoes with pimento and cheese. I don't like goat cheese, but it was not over powering the pimento and cheddar. My husband had the Betty Lou Burger and enjoyed it. They do have a smaller hamburger for kids. Our server was great. I would have given 5 stars, but the floor was very sticky!! We almost left because of the floor. Hopefully the next time we go back, the floor will be in better shape. The food and service would rank 5 stars.

Excellent! Scallops seared perfectly, hubby's burger on point and sister's fried pork chop was delicious! Chris was attentive and friendly... His sister, Kat, was awesome! Realized they also own Avondale Wine and cheese... Of course they do! Fine folk, relaxing atmosphere and great sense of humor- perfect dinner! Dessert... Yes, please!
