Review Tu - Charleston

Great food. Cool small ethnic plates to share. Not too many vegetarian options and no vegan options at all. Good service and a nice casual atmosphere.

The food was very delicious. I loved their take of Indian classics, like the carrot riata. The drinks were decent, but not very balanced. The service was fast but not welcoming. We were nearly the only people in the place and would have lingered, but felt like we were imposing. Also, their lunch menu on the weekend doesn't include any dessert options.

Definitely a must-stop food experience in Charleston! The menu is constantly different, so it's exciting to go in and see what is available. We shared the butter chicken, three veggie curries, garlic naan, the coco rice balls and basmati rice, and it was all phenomenal. Some of it definitely had some heat to it, but the flavor was so incredible, it's worth enduring the heat! I easily could eat a huge bowl of the butter chicken or the rice balls. We left very full and satisfied, and so incredibly happy we had heard about this place recently! For a truly unique and memorable food experience, stop by Tu!

Tu was highly recommended by one of the Yelpies/Elite member 2019 /2018 Mrs. Dr. Sarah or so.... Promised will go next week, but I was able to go on Thursday (February 28 2019) before my travel. Yes they have Dosai - I had one more again - it was awesome. They had Samosa too -picked up for the family they said it was sweeter possibly put Sweet Potato I guess :) but very nice people. Highly Professional, caring and people who work there are amazing service- True customer service- environment looks highly elegant like top curve or so. People worth mentioning are Joey Ryan - Outstanding partner- truly genuine, caring for customers.....Person who served was super smart -very young kid possibly Ms. Salena - but she knows the name Dosai, Sambhar, Chutney and what not - I am touched by her knowledge- she tells in a heartbeat/flash of second. This is a long due - too much travelling, work and what not makes me tired- sorry for the delay in sending across- good work. In Charleston downtown, one should check out them. Only thing they do not have a phone... Lexi is awesome too and plus James can do multi tasking. Thanks to Selena for taking nice pictures- Outstanding good work way to go

This place is fantastic. We sat in the bar area and had excellent service. The garlic cheesy naan is exquisite. The pani puri is so so good. I do wish there were more than 4 bites in an order - maybe 6? - but it’s so so tasty. Everything we ate was insanely good. So wonderful! Would recommend. Oh and the service was great.

They are serving a Southeast Asian street food menu right now. Don't miss out! The boat noodles with braised pork was rich and savory. Highly slurp-able.

Best people. Best food. Best atmosphere. This is really the only place I want to eat out at anymore.

Amazing service. Delicious and creative food. Specifically enjoyed the Frito Misto and Shaved Iced. Plenty of gluten free and veggie options. Incredibly knowledgeable and passionate staff. Delicious cocktails!

Simply amazing dishes. One of the best restaurants, dollar for dollar. Don't miss out!

Incredible food and drinks, with a lovely atmosphere. Great service as well (from Valentina!) and amazing tasting menu. Looking forward to another visit soon. đŸ˜‹ Would love to see a milk-based drink to help with all the spice. Someone mentioned no to go bags, but we got them last night, so they have them now.

The new Indian concept is the bomb. We have needed a good spot downtown for Indian and Joey, Josh, and the team deliver. Will be back asap.

Tu is fantastic!! We hosted our Rehearsal Dinner there for 40 guests back in February and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the experience. The food was delicious, creative, and appealed to even our pickiest guests. The Tu team did a wonderful job of providing a wide variety of spicy and non spicy dishes, as well as working with us to come up with a menu that would be perfect for a family style meal. Moreover though, the entire experience was first class- the staff is incredible!!! Kind and patient and handled some of our more "demanding" guests with ease haha. They hustled like crazy and worked very hard so that all the tables had food at the same time and no one was without a drink or something to snack on. Thank you to Joey, Josh and team for a wonderful night! We truly appreciate all of your hard work!

This is a must go-to if you enjoy Indian cuisine. They always keep the menu fresh, and the ingredients local. The service is always great. Be prepared for no reservations. If you've been to their sister restaurant Xiao Bao Biscuit, then you know the cocktails are always crafted to perfection. Be prepared for seasonal rotations in the menu.

This is a must go in Charleston. The atmosphere has a good mix of class and fun but the food is the star. Perfectly seasoned Indian dishes with some of the best falafel I’ve ever had. It’s not spicy junky hot, it’s the right blend of heat and flavor. Perfect date spot. Everything was amazing.
