Loved this place. The food and service were excellent. We arrived for a late night reservation and my wife and I enjoyed their cocktail selection. For dinner, we split the burrata and cacio e pepe. In hindsight, we should have gotten our own dishes to preserve marital bliss as they were that good and sharing was difficult. But this allowed room for us to each have our own desserts and even this proved problematic to choose just two. Our waiter was attentive and shared stories of the neighborhood and the history of the restaurant site. Can't wait to go again...maybe tonight!

GET THE ZUCCHINI FRIES!! What a cool place! Likely the best restaurant in Charleston, but everyone already knows that. Drinks, food, coffee and dessert (!!!!) were all perfect. The sweet cream Gelato was actually one of the best things I've ever tasted. GO HERE!

We had an incredible dining experience at Melfi's in Charleston! We were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The atmosphere was charming and cozy, making it the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The food was simply outstanding. Each dish was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and everything we tried was exceptional. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauces were rich and delicious. The pizza was absolutely exceptional! The wine selection was impressive and complemented our meal perfectly. The service was top-notch,( we recommend bar top seating) with attentive and knowledgeable staff who made excellent recommendations. They truly enhanced our dining experience. Overall Melfi's is a place where you can savor the flavors of Italy right here in Charleston. We highly recommend Melfi's to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Italian dining experience.

Melfi's never fails to disappoint. The food ranges from simple classics to more complex Italian staples. My boyfriend and I decided to dine in for my birthday dinner, and made reservations a little later in the evening. To start, we shared an order of the arancini, which are always amazing. We also had a stracciatella toast to share, which is always a favorite of mine. It's simple, but flavorful and a fun textural experience. I also had the beautiful lettuce salad, as I love the verjus it is dressed with (plus, it's just so pretty!). For dessert I ordered the plums, which are a seriously underrated dessert at Melfi's. They're served with marscapone, a red wine sauce and biscotti crumble sugar. Absolutely delightful! My boyfriend had the chocolate gelato, and he seemed thrilled. I also ordered a Calabrian Sombrero to drink, and wow! I knew to expect a nice little kick, but I wasn't prepared for such a perfectly balanced drink. It was flavorful and rich, and finished with a bright, slightly spicy note. I would order one every night if I could! I cannot recommend Melfi's highly enough. The food is always spectacular, with a wide variety of choices that can be amended to accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions upon request. The service was phenomenal. Everyone who helped us was so nice and truly went above and beyond to make us feel special. The atmosphere is romantic, vivid and fun. And obviously, the drinks are to die for! Don't miss out, and book your reservations ahead of time. You'll be glad you did; Melfi's is a Charleston experience that you surely don't want to miss out on.

What an experience. Worth the price of admission. Service across the board was excellent. Everyone was friendly and upbeat to include the "Go Tigers" shout out from the hostess. We had the Stracciatella and Olive Oil Bruschetta ($13), and the Crispy Calamari ($16). Portions were small but enough for four to get a taste of what was to come. For dinner we had a Gnudi ($22) which was an interesting item to try. Too rich for a person to eat all by themselves so we ended up sharing it. I would definitely order it again. Mains included the Bucatinit "Cacio E Pepe" ($30), the Linguine with Clams ($37), and the Rigatoni ($33). All were excellent and a health portion - probably too big but small from an American standard. You could not go wrong with anything you ordered. It all tasted freshly made and unique. We ended the night with 3 deserts. We also had a Peroni ($8), a glass of Nebbiolo ($16) and a San Giovanni Sour - vodka, limoncello, and prosecco ($14). Overall the cost was around $250 without a tip. We would recommend to anyone and if you are on a budget - save up because this is worth the investment.

Perfect place to go with someone special! We loved the calamari, the batter stayed with the calamari and was seasoned well. The service was on point from entry to leaving. We noted that it was our anniversary when making reservations and they made sure a few times that it was noted. The courses came out at just the right time, simply elevating the Melfi's experience. I highly recommend asking for the gelato as soon as you're seated, a delightful way to cap a most pleasant evening and they prepare it while you are eating dinner. The pasta, pizza, fried zucchini and steak Florentine were delicious and we will be back again! Good cocktails!
