Mellow Mushroom Charleston - West Ashley

We ordered their veg out pizza and veg calzone. The pizza was great and the calzone was okay. We liked the set up and the mural paintings on the bar. The setup is more like a cinema lobby. However there was water dripping from duct overhead. Hence four stars. The bar is okay. The service was lagging.

The waitress was very pleasant she was also the bartender, and busy as she was she was very sweet and mannerable ,but the Manager was rude and disrespectful It's a restaurant for all, and all should be treated the same. It was all because I ask a question regarding our order we'd been waiting on over 45 mins she answered with a smart remark, kept disregarding our table, and checking on other customers right behind us, in a taunting kinda way walking past with a smirk and just down right extremely rude, and still didn't answer what I ask in a very respectful way. I was there with my daughter before she goes off to college and this manager was out of line, but I can say it taught my daughter a value lesson, it also made her grateful that she has parents that raised her to be respectful to people, and it humbled me. Yes.... I'm African American. How I handle this problem I forgave this young lady and I'm praying for her. Peace and love to all! I pray she doesn't run your Ethnic customers off!

I have been to a few Mellos Mushroom locations but this one has the best atmosphere. The booths were spacious and service was great! We had a limited time to eat before an event and the waiter was on point in taking care of us. The cocktails are pricey for what you get but the pizza and other entrees were good.

We ordered the House pizza and meatballs. I liked the red sauce and the toppings were great and fresh. I wasn't excited about the gluten free crust, it was not hand tossed, dry, hard, super thin and tasteless. Our service was rather slow. We didn't go in at a busy time so wasn't quite certain why that happened. Apps came fairly quickly, but our pizzas took forever. When the couple we were with got served we were informed us that ours had melted in the oven and they had to remake it. 🤷‍♀️ So... we waited again the normal amount of time, that it takes them to make a 10" pizza. When ours finally arrived, the couple we were with had already completed their dinner and we're ready for the bill. Not the greatest experience for our first time there, but I get things happen...
