Hachiya Japanese Steakhouse And Sushi Bar

We had an amazing experience tonight and will continue to eat here for years to come. This restaurant has a “no outside food” policy. We had a child with dietary issues in our group and after explaining the situation to the manager, everyone was very accommodating and he was allowed to eat what was brought for him. The staff went above and beyond. And Squally was extremely entertaining and cooked some excellent food. We highly recommend!!

Fun place to take a group. Fun to watch the chef cook right front of us. Entertained the kids and the adults. While it was expensive the food was outstanding and it’s really a very big portion, everyone has left overs for the next day. It was my grandsons birthday and they played a drum and gathered a large group of the serving staff to sing happy birthday and he got a cupcake. Perfect way to end the night.

Fantastic experience! We booked up a table at 4 pm and everything was smooth and on time. The chef was cooking right in front of us and the show was amazing. There is a daily special at 4 pm, recommend it to have the best deal. I personally got some sushi and it was the best sushi by taste in Charleston. Lots of space for big companies. The only detail that I would want you to make sure of is that you are OKAY with metal sounding like a metal knife touching the metal cooking surface a lot of time and I really don’t like that sound so just be careful if you have such a thing. The ambience was excellent. The service was some of the best we have had. The onion soup was spot on. The hibachi preparation while entertaining lacked some aspects of a typical hibachi we enjoyed elsewhere, few veggies, no egg in the rice and finally did not seem to have a great deal of flavor. This was my daughter’s first visit to a hibachi restaurant and I am so glad that we picked this one to be the place where she tried hibachi for the first time. The server(young guy) was super nice and kept my tea glass full. He always kept a smile on his face, even under pressure. The chef that came to our table was funny and friendly. The food was tasty and we didn’t have to wait to long to be seated, even though it was Sunday evening. The buzzy booth was also lots of fun too! It was a nice added bonus to the visit. If you’re ever in Charleston, stop by here because you won’t be disappointed!
