Been here before with the same results, AWESOME. Great food, good service, but very crowded. Biscuit and gravy, Seafood, shrimp and grits, French toast, pancakes... Everything was really good😋. I'll keep coming back! I love it here!

There is a large menu- several pages long. I’m going to have to go back and try the breakfast. I suspect it will be good. I love diner food. The fries for lunch were excellent ( some of the best I’ve had). I had a Philly and my husband had the Rueben. They were both VERY good. The best surprise was the dessert. I wanted a sundae and my husband tried to get me to get my own but I’m glad I didn’t. It wasn’t just a sundae it was a SUNDAE! It was 3 dips of your choice of ice cream in a bowl! We shared it! And it was only $5! The atmosphere was so busy, the diner is small and they have the tables crammed in. As I understand it there is always a wait for a table; not a long wait. The service was good! I’ll go back.

It's off the beaten path ,& tucked away. Parking is tight and limited. Always a waiting list, we waited about 20 minutes & it was well worth it. Country style cooking, breakfast anytime.

This has become one of my favorite spots to visit when I come home to Charleston. Great food and great service. If you have not been, you are missing out.

Sooooooo on point! I mean, DAMMMMMMN, yummers all the way. Holy WOW, you will never be disappointed. Staff is so thoughtful and kind. They sang a birthday song, and everyone in the restaurant (including me and my friend) did as well. My heart swelled with little heart bubbles floating from my soul. Reminded me of my childhood in Fort Lauderdale going to the homey restaurants with the amazing food and people. Now i can go feel like home again with Bear E Patch. Thank you to one of my best friends, Katie, recommending this comfy joint, I'd never know about without her. Please go, you're so missing out if you don't 💓 Katie, TY for finding one of my top 5 places to go for breakfast. Screw distance, that was BEYOND worth it. Love y'all! Kim from Ladson, SC

Such great food! Those pancakes are something I’m going to think about for a while. The service was fantastic as well, everyone looked genuinely happy to be there. Got some deserts to go, can’t wait to try them!

This is our second time visiting. I still continue to give them five stars. We were in and out fairly quick waited about 15 minutes and it was morning. Very diverse crowd of people. Service is quick and food is good and reasonable for everything you get. Everything you see here was $11 except for my additional side of potatoes.

The food is amazing. I love that the breakfast potatoes are cooked perfectly so they are tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Perfect! Everytime I go the employees are welcoming and efficient. The only problem I have is the lighting. It is harsh bright lighting and it gives me a headache.

Loved the food the staff is great the tables unless you are in a booth are on top of each other. I love going here great omelets and burgers. They have a southern cooking for sure down to a science. They have deserts and cookies when you check out. I loved the large menu and the food is great. I've been back for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Every time I've been there with my boyfriend, friends, parents its always an enjoyable time. Always wait longer for a booth. parking is a bit dodgy the location is on a busy intersection and once you get there I've always needed to wail at least 10 minutes. To be honest its a nice time to go is for lunch less wait time and staff is kind.

Amazing good at an fair price. The staff, though busy, did not miss a beat! We were well taken care of and I will definitely make a stop here anytime I am in the area. I had the Cajun omelette and my wife had the potato pancakes. We both left full and satisfied.

It was a challenge to find safe parking. The place had wall to wall people enjoying the food. I enjoyed the food. The service was great. Because of the open floor plan, it was loud. The environment was clean, and they had something for everyone

Locals love Bear E. Patch! They cook southern food the way we like it, offering daily specials in a chill atmosphere. The cafe-style spot has an open kitchen so you can see, hear and smell your order being prepared. This influences anticipation for that Farmer’s Skillet, praise God! I added sausage gravy and cheese to mine! The patch potatoes are so good plus the GRITS are made the right way, not creamed or sweetened for the Yankees. Authentic Southern Cooking goes down here!😋Great Staff as well. The gals are familiar faces and they’re all kind interesting people. Guys behind the grill joke and laugh and enjoy work! If they have that much fun Cooking and serving the food imagine how much fun you will have eating it!

Great local place for breakfast.

I like the fried green tomatoes and biscuit sandwich but the bacon wrap was very greasy. It’s a good place to eat on a budget with big portions.

First time here but won't be my last. Really good food and value. Onion rings hot & delicious. Folly wrap had shrimp and scallops! My daughter's chef salad very tasty with wonderful homemade tasting Blue Cheese dressing. We intended to have a slice of pie for dessert but were just too full.

Wonderful friendly staff and great food. Family atmosphere and very attentive. And a bonus is that they love the Lord Jesus!!

Me and my wife visited this restaurant on our trip to Edisto Beach. Busy restaurant, but the food we ordered was hot and delicious. They have lots of options for breakfast and lunch. Please go check them out today and support your local businesses. Friendly staff and delicious food items served here.

Stumbled upon this place and am so glad I did! I love that you can get breakfast all day long because they make some of, if not the best sausage and gravy biscuits that I've ever eaten! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!

Great local place for breakfast. Be prepared to wait on the weekend. Large portions and great service. We asked for a couple things to be changed on the meals we ordered and they took care of it with no issues.

I come here whenever I am in town. The food is always fresh, tasty and hot. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. I have been here for breakfast and lunch numerous times and have never been disappointed.

/breakfast is great!. Went to the Berry Patch for lunch today and to say i was disappointed is an understatement hot roast beef sandwich cooked on a grill to the point it was hard to tell what kind of meat it was, I sent it back this is the second time i've had a bad experience here, and don't plan on a third. would have been better off going to chick filet,

Great taste combination. Generous portion.

Good for breakfast, abysmal for lunch. When I went here for breakfast, you can find it anywhere but they'll give you what you expect to get. Nothing amazing, but hey, it's breakfast. Fill me up and ship me out. They do that.

Went there for lunch once and had what is quite literally the most godawful burger I've ever sat down somewhere and paid for, which given the range of quality of burgers out there is quite a statement. Very obviously bought in premade patty that they did nothing to (including season) with blue cheese salad dressing dumped on it. I was stunned by how boastful this burger screamed "we didn't even try to make this good."

Came with fried green tomatoes that had I not poked one open to inspect the color I would have never guessed I was eating, they had about as much flavor as a Shoppers Value frozen pizza (and likely can be found in the same aisle as one.)

In short, breakfast is okay. I'm comfortable summarizing the lunch as "it really sucks" because I've already given it more acknowledgement then it deserves. That burger told me all I need to know about how much they value my business, they no longer have it.

Verbally Abusive to my mother. Te owner, who's about as unchristian as they come (which is funny if you look at the " decor") actually yelled and cursed at my elderly mother because the eggs weren't cooked and my mom couldn't eat the running all over her plate. Sae your money, make breakfast at home.

Went in with high expectations and was sorely disappointed. I got the crab cake melt for nine dollars and I have literally never seen a sandwich like it in my life. The crab cake was the flattest piece of breading without any crab in it whatsoever. It was about a centimeter thick, no exaggeration. My boyfriend tried it and thought it was a flattened hashbrown. Boyfriends chicken philly was bland, but no serious problems. Server was very pleasant, but in retrospect I really should have complained. Worst restaurant I've been to in a long time.
Try It. You'll Like It.
Simply good. This place is not innovative, cutting-edge, or trendy, and it doesn't pretend to be. The food is simple, familiar, and tasty, and the servers are charming. The soups are homemade and always fantastic with a piece of toasted sourdough. The real treats are the desserts, especially the pies. Go here when you miss home.

YUM. I fell in love with their Dizzle Sandwich. It's not on the menu, and you see it on the specials board sometimes, but it is so good. I also love their side salads and homemade bread. The staff is very sweet and always smile, even when they are slammed, they smile. And if the Salmon Burger is on special, please order it!!!

Disappointed. After hearing such great things about Bear E Patch, I was excited to finally try it out. I ordered the shrimp and grits which is definitely a breakfast version and not the classic brown gravy dinner style. Essentially it was grits with sausage white gravy in the middle and shrimp scattered on top. It was ok, not great, not horrible. Probably not something I'd order again though. I selected the sourdough bread for the dish and it on the other hand was fantastic! Very light and fluffy with a great sourdough taste that was not too over or underwhelming. I also had the Charleston Chew for dessert which was extremely runny on the inside vs. chewy as I've normally experienced. It had a very good taste but it was so messy that I didn't end up finishing it.

The restaurant could use a really good scrub down, the vinyl table cloth was sticky sticky sticky and the floors looked like they hadn't been thoroughly bleached and buffed in a while. I'm not saying it was dirty but it just didn't feel as clean as I would expect for a cafe. Although the restaurant shows up under kid friendly, I'm not sure it really is. First, there were no booster seats or high chairs in view; perhaps they have them stored somewhere and since I didn't need one as my child was not with me, I just don't know. But the ambience of the place is definitely that of mostly older folks (think 50+) who are regulars which can make you feel like you're not the top of the priority list for service if you're not in that crowd.

Not Kid Friendly!!!. I had a 3 year old and 1 year old at the time and got a kid's meal for them to split (since everyone knows little kids barely eat anything anyways) and they charged me a $2 plate sharing fee on a $2 kid's meal!!! I asked why they didn't tell me they were going to do this since it was clear they were sharing (I asked for an extra plate). The manager stated it was in writing in the menu (had no clue this applied to little ones!). Food wasn't even that great, prices were high and they rip off families!!!

Great food & service.. This place doesn't have much of an appearance but don't let looks fool you. The food is great. The diner style restaurant offers a vast menu and all well cooked and delicious. The service was friendly and efficient.

I look forward to breakfast/brunch there when I have family in town before we hit the beach. It such a quaint friendly atmosphere.

Positives: Friendly service. Delicious food.

Quaint local eatery. My daughter introduced us to the Bear E Patch and we're glad. Huge breakfast and great waitresses.

Good Stuff!. I really like Bear E Patch. Sometimes I go their after work and I'm always pleased. There was only one time when I wasn't pleased with the service and it was either the result of a new cook or laziness.

I like it and my family really likes it. A bit busy and rushed at lunch, but supper is laid back and friendly. Wait staff always seems tonreally care, and the food is good and fresh. Not the cheapest, but good stuff.

Mediocre. Thats the best word for it - certainly not worth all the hype it gets. Food was alright - the service wasn't. I had to wait 30 minutes to get a refill on my sweet tea, which as we all know should be a capital crime in the South. It was overpriced as well, in my opinion.
