Years ago I was fortunate enough to get here when they opened and literally put them on three Google Map. I had the chance to return recently and they provided an exceptional experience. We had the Chef’s tasting across seven courses with wine pairings-and they graciously accommodated us for a vegetarian version. Amazing!!

This restaurant is hands down my favorite in the United States! The cuisine is so inventive - they make amazing tastes come from things even a food enthusiast wouldn’t normally think to cook with. The tasting menu is a great value, sitting at the counter and watching the wizardry in action is a must.

Amazing food, presentation, and overall atmosphere. We had the 6-course chef's tasting with wine pairing, and threw a bit of a curveball, which they responded to very well (no meat, seafood, or mushrooms). Everything was amazing, favorite was the grilled cheese dish followed closely by the eggplant. Each dish was an incredible work of art visually, and had a great combination of flavors and they did an excellent job of pairing the perfect wine for each course.

Absolutely incredible. We ate around half the menu and everything was so fresh, so flavorful, so excellently prepared and served. Our server was a joy, conversation with us, guiding us through ordering both vegan and non-vegan options and fully explaining each dish as they arrived. We were out for a birthday dinner, and the entire experience was enjoyed by all. We'll definitely be back.

I couldn't get enough of them! The watermelon dish was a delightful surprise. The combination of juicy watermelon, tangy feta cheese, and a hint of mint created a refreshing and vibrant flavor profile. It was the perfect appetizer to awaken my taste buds and set the tone for the rest of the meal. The whipped ricotta was a true work of art. The smooth and creamy texture, combined with the subtle sweetness, made it an absolute delight to spread on the accompanying crusty bread. It was a heavenly combination that left me craving more. Now, let's talk about the short ribs. Oh my goodness, these were the epitome of melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The meat was incredibly tender, falling off the bone with each bite. The rich and savory flavors were perfectly balanced, and the accompanying sauce elevated the dish to new heights. It was a true culinary masterpiece that left me in awe. We tried the 6 course tasting vegan tasting menu with wine pairing and everything was very impressive. If anything, the portions were a little large for a tasting menu, by the time we got to the substantial main course (which was basically a full size main) we were struggling to eat any more. The white chocolate mousse has excellent texture and flavor but could have done with a bit more sweetness to bring out the flavor and offset the pistachio.

Went with a friend and her husband, and the food WAS INCREDIBLE! We tried the flounder, scallops, and spare ribs for the main course. We split a watermelon salad, acorn squash, and cucumber salad for the appetizers. 10/10 recommend. Loved when the chef came out and explained how he prepped the meals.

This place has to be one of the most underrated restaurants in Charleston! Everyone needs to try this place now. Sit at the Chef's tasting table and experience the 6 course selection from Chef - he and his team put together masterpieces with consistent quality. Look at these pictures for proof! Wow! Sorghum & Salt provides an incredible culinary experience! Each dish was perfectly prepared with complex combinations of flavors and beautiful presentation! We tried 9 dishes (one not pictured) and LOVED all but one (the turnips). Our favorites were the roasted carrots, sweet potato, and the gnocchi! The food truly blew me away. The service was wonderful. Very small but beautifully done restaurant.
