Review La Fontana Authentic Italian Restaurant Bar & Pizzeria - Charleston

Betty Thomas
This small restaurant has the best Italian food. The service and atmosphere add to the pleasurable experience. I highly recommend stopping in for a delicious meal. We ate here on our last trip to Charleston (6 years ago) and I was excited to see it is still open.

Delicious authentic Italian cuisine !!! We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer. Then My wife ordered the Rigatoni Buongustino and I ordered the Fettuccine Bolongese! Not to mention an extra side of Italian Bread with pesto !!!

I was in Charleston with my daughter moving her into her apartment at the College of Charleston when we ran into someone on King Street who recommended La Fontana. So we went and loved everything about it! The food is amazing, fresh homemade, truly authentic Italian food. We are from Boston and are Italian. Many restaurants claim to be authentic but are far from it. Not this one, we both ate our entire meal and had dessert after saying we couldn't eat another bite! Fabiana, the owner was so kind to me and especially to my daughter who was having all kinds of feelings. She made her feel safe and at home!!! I know the food is what you are all most interested in, so you will not be disappointed! If I could I would give La Fontana 10 stars!

Give La Fontana a try. Ignore trolls and snobs. Yes, Charleston is moving towards the wonderful, stylish, boutique type restaurants, but Italian is about the food. La Fontana is run by Fabiana, who is putting her heart and soul into this restaurant. I had the pasta Bolognese and it was wonderful. My wife had the tagliatelle with shrimp, and she loved it. I suggest you support a long-term, loyal, local business and not judge the book by its cover. Be now, be unique, go retro and have fun and a great, authentic Italian meal at La Fontana!

Showed up with a party of 15 and they accommodated us with no problem! Food was amazing and honestly I had a few drinks so I’m having a hard time remembering our servers name but she was awesome! We had a blast and will definitely be back soon!

This place is a little diamond. Really amazing food, great atmosphere, and the staff are very polite. Would definitely recommend if going on a date or just want to relax.

Had no idea what to expect and this wound up being the best meal of our entire vacation. Had Chicken Parmesan w/ a side of pasta and sausage. Absolutely delicious, sausage tasted homemade.

Authentic Italian. My ancestors are Sicilian, this doesn't make me an expert but I've had more Italian food than most people. This place is good and the staff is attentive.

Wonderful! Excellent! Delizioso! Authentic Italian cuisine. This is true Italian flavor. The chef came to our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. We also met Veronica who shared with us her life in Italy and experience in the food industry.

My mother & I stopped by for a lunch on Saturday. We had the fried calamari. Shrimp Portifino & Mussels in white wine sauce. The calamari was fresh & fried beautifully. The shrimp was in a rich but tasty artichoke &caper cream sauce. We found it to be quite good. We enjoyed the atmosphere. It made you forget you were off a busy street.
So, sad to say it was bad, bad, and more bad when we visited. The food tasted burnt, every course. I am Sicilian. Raised in New York, summers with family in Sicily. I have been culinary school. From the stock of chefs. Even married one. This is not like any Italian food I've ever had. The sauce tasted like it came from the can. The prosciutto was nothing more than deli ham. The meat was overcooked, rubbery. The ambience left a bit to be desired. It was so dark we could barely see. It also smells like grease in the entire place, restrooms included. We brought to attention to things that weren't that great to the waitress, but she didn't seem too concerned. She was actually pretty crass about it. This isn't the worst place I've ever had a talion, but it certainly isn't the best. I'm guessing it's some southern take on Italian? No matter what it is, it certainly wasn't that good. Sad, I had hoped we would have an enjoyable evening.

Every vacation we seek out an authentic Italian restaurant and this was a winner! The bread was warm and fresh baked, the sauce was amazing and the service was good too. We went home with enough food for the next day.

A Very Pleasant way to spend a Saturday night!. Wow! Growing up in Brooklyn New York and alot of time in Philadelphia I have been to many many authenic Italian restuarants!. This was a truly delightful experience! I loved the cozy decor and friendly smiles when we arrived. We had the best Server!. Angelo was charming and had a great sense of humour. The food was served with a nice carafe of wine and bread and Angelo made everything so delightful. The food was excellent. Especially the mussels! I highly recommend this restuarant and will become a regular. No offense to any other servers but I will always ask for Angelo. He really has the true spirit of love for food and friendship the italian way!

Anna G

Delizioso. We were looking for good Italian food with a comfortable atmosphere and we found it. The veal Marsala was delicious. The service by, Angelo, was hospitable and uniquely Italian. We will definitely return. Grazie!

Went with the family to enjoy a nice quiet dinner, have a bottle of wine and talk. Unfortunately the conversation was mostly centered on the server who wanted to be a participant of the conversation and the terrible food. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer, the bread which looked to be ends of a loaf of white, were toasted brown, however the bread was cold. This led us to believe the bread was toasted previously and then refrigerated. Who does that? We then ordered salads which were good. The waiter brought bread and when we asked about dipping sauce he pointed to a bottle of plain olive oil, no spices. While we were eating our salads the entrees were delivered to our table. The waiter stood there and looked at us like here's your food. 1) we were in mid salad and 2) the table wasn't big enough for us to move our salad bowls to the side 3) it would have been most appropriate to allow us to finish the salads and then remove the bowls from the table. I asked the server to return the food to the kitchen. The food was then delivered hot and auctioned off at the table. Auctioned off means the server had no idea who ordered what and just yells out the name of the dish. I was handed a chicken picatta and told that it was the veal picatta. My sister in law and I had to exchange plates after one bite and realizing our dishes were mixed. Not that it mattered. The veal served was one small piece, maybe 2 ounces, with no flavor. I couldn't tell it was veal. It was served on a plate of spaghetti swimming in a type of oil/butter sauce that left a film in my mouth. It was nasty. The dish was $18.95. The other dishes were lasagna and clams with spaghetti. We declined dessert. The owner stopped at the end of our meal to ask how everything was. We all chimed in with a comment. She couldn't get away from the table fast enough. The bill for my husband and I was over $100 for two dishes and a bottle of wine. The four of us were still hungry so we went down the street to Mellow Mushroom and shared a pizza. We will not return to La Fontana.

Great Italian Meal. Great Italian lunch, great service, and the waiter, Jonathan, made us feel right at home! We will definitely come back on our next visit to Edisto lsland.

Where should I start? We stood at the door for a few minutes before anyone acknowledged us, even though servers looked right at as. They just walked on by without a word. The place is dark inside. For good reason. They don't want you to get a good look at their food.
I am from New York and I'm Sicilian. This is anything but italian food. I'd rather eat at a Fazoli's. The waitress came over and acted like she was doing us a big favor by being there. She brought us some bread that tasted old and yeasty. No olive oil, no cheese....heck, not even butter. Very ride. We ordered 2 glasses of Lambrusco. When they arrived they were freezing cold. Chilled Lambrusco shouldn't be any chillier than 56 degrees....but I digress. We started with muscles in a white wine sauce. When they arrived they tasted burnt and the sauce was creamy. Who adds milk or cream to a white wine sauce. Over half the muscles weren't even open. I ate one and had to spit it out at the table. I never do that, that's rude. The waitress never came over to ask us how it was. Another server cleared our dished.
Onto dinner, I ordered a seafood dish and my friend had veal. When dinner arrived it was quite the sight. My friends veal was questionable. It wasn't pounded out or breaded. The Prosciutto was deli ham. The sauce, a thick and partially congealed butter with a few slivers of garlic in it. It tasted burnt. Mine was even better. I had 2 of the tiniest clams I've ever seen in my life, 3 shrimp that were rubbery when poked with the fork and a few muscles that looked (and smelled) like they'd seen better days. The sauce was awful. Again, the dish tasted burnt. Just disgusting. No self respecting Italian would serve that muck to family and friends. I pushed it to the side of the table. After about 10 minutes the waitress comes by and asked me what was wrong with it. I said I didn't like it. She says, "So what do you want ME to do with it?" Oh boy. As politely as I could, I told her to get it out of my face. She asked if I wanted something else, but I didn't feel the need to assault my taste buds anymore than I already had that evening. We decided to forgo dessert.
When the bill came I was astounded at the prices. Thankfully, my meal was not on the bill.
So all in all, next time, I'll stay home and cook for myself when I want good Italian. I can't wait to get back to NY!

Overpriced frozen foods, not authentic Italian. will never go again

Frozen Veal Parmesan Cutlet. I was looking forward to a good veal parm meal only to realize that for $20 I got a frozen cutlet topped with mediocre cheese. Huge disappointment.
Matt Thompson
This place hands down is the worst restaurant on earth. The staff is unorganized the food is mediocre at best and the decor is horrid. The rolls were like rocks and there were fruitflys in my drink. The bathroom smelled worse than a gas stations and the family that owned this god awful spaghetti joint were running around clueless

Had a wonderful meal last night. Certainly tasted authentic. Thought I was in Italy again. This was my first time there and I have will go back. Calling ahead for reservations got us seated right away.

YES YES YES. My boyfriend and I went to La Fontana for dinner Friday night and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was dark, cozy and romantic(what you expect in an italian restaurant) and the service was excellent! Started off with a margarita which really hit the spot! We both got a seafood pasta which was very tasty and the seafood was fresh. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bite to eat, good company and a good time!

Not good. My family went here Friday night and I would not consider this authentic. They use what looks like Kraft parmesan cheese NOT real parmesan. Also, my Spaghetti Carbonara was swimming in butter, the pancetta was not crispy and there was too much sauce. I have had a good meal there before but this was not it. We were very disappointed. Too expensive not to have a good meal EVERYTIME.

Wow! What a fantastic restaurant! The service was impeccable and enjoyable, even towards our raucous party of 26! The food was delicious and the menu even had gluten free pasta options! We went there straight from our wedding and they made it an experience we will never forget! The entire staff worked together to play a joke on my new husband and even Chef Gary got in on it! Needless to say we wanted great Italian food for a reasonable price and this was exactly what we got! A must visit in SC!

The food here isn't the best but the service definitely made my experience worth while.

The place was clean. The food was amazing. The server was knowlegable and professional. We enjoyed every minute. I would recommend highly.

My date and I dropped in at 9:45 Friday night after a movie and were delighted by what we found. Great atmosphere, fantastic service, and the lasagna was FANTASTIC! We will be back.

Worst italian meal ever. Stopped by on my way home from Church today and ordered a soup and a veal dish fixed with capers, artichoke hearts and served with a side of spaghetti. The veal came out on top of the pasta. Tasted it and it was terrible. A strong vinegar taste and the olive oil had started to separate from the sauce. So I told my server that I could not eat this dish. The veal had a gummy taste and was not tender at all. She said she was very sorry. Told her to bring my check and when she did, the full price of the veal was still on the ticket. I was very disappointed but paid the bill and left. I am Italian and I am a cook. I will not darken their door again.

I don't know if it was a Sunday afternoon and the head chef was out but the food sucked. The chicken Marsala and some other chicken dish tasted like nothing. Watery, gristlely nothing. The addition of salt and flavored olive oil did nothing to save the dishes. Our waiter was a no show and the woman who was front of the house had to serve us. I think that our waiter later walked in talking on the phone. It felt like an episode of Restaurant Stakeout or Restaurant Impossible. Over fifty dollars for two in edible meals is ridiculous. It was so bad I will never eat here again.

Incredible Service. Rarely do you get service as prompt and great as I did for dinner. Our server brought Tiramisu to our table while the cannolis were being made, and it was comped. Spectacular service and a West Ashley gem.

Great food, super service and most accomodating to please the desires of hungry diners! Our family and friends make a yearly trip from MA & CT just to savor the delights at La Fontana! We tell others about our "Neighborhood Gem" so that everyone may share this exceptional dining experience in Charleston!
Thanks again for a super meal!

I Wanna Go to La Fontana!. ‘Been intendin’ to jot down this stuff for awhile. ...So without any more incessant adieu, I’m going to give some long overdue accolades to my most frequented spots when it come to piggin’ out in the good old Holy City. It’s been too long I’ve promised my humble opinions of quite a few of the many fantastic dining haunts Charleston has to offer, so this is a sort of synopsis, or pot pourri, if I may be so slack! There will be more in-depth descriptions given in the future of the following stellar eating establishments:

...And these are not in order of the topmost preferred to the least, by any means. ‘Just have to git it all down on paper before I feel too guilty about relating my epicurean experiences here in Charleston: So check out my lucious and most foodious reviews on Urbanspoon and other places like City Paper and Yelp! I do as many as I can, when I'm not spending time chowing down on the superb urban fare I'e been spoiling myself with lately!

La Fontana: ‘Quickly becoming a standard here in the West Ashley area, “La Fontana” is definitely not to be missed when making the rounds for great Charleston Italian dining. Gary Langevin has long enthralled the port city with his illustrious talents as head chef at a few venues that I can remember (Such as Bella Napoli - and another La Fontana in North Charleston - ), but none so memorable as this recent incarnation of La Fontana. Their bread is always warm and endowed with fresh herbs; they serve the bread almost before they seat you! Mr. Gio is a most cordial host, and has been our waiter numerous times.

You can’t go wrong with any of the choices here. My favorite is the Pollo Saltimbocca, but I’ve tasted the Melzane Ripiene quite a few times as well. ‘Absolutely like butter! The meatballs are huge and hearty. Their Chicken Marsala is a real winner, too... along with the Salsiccia Alla Griglia. Don’t forget to order the Penne alla Putanesca (I recommend their homemade sausage with that - ‘simply divine!) when a cold winter night requires a dish that “sticks to your ribs”!

Their entire staff is most accommodating and quite an energetic and genuinely hospitable bunch. I love it when the chef comes and asks us how everything was... and I’ve never been disappointed here. You won't be either...

Service was ok but I got the lasagna and it tasted like mush. I was starving and could only take a few bites. I h e a several friends who have been here as well and had awful experiences.

Dinner. Atmosphere is good, but the food was a little disappointing. I got Eggplant parmagiana, my friend veal parm. Sauce was great and hot, but the food beneath the sauce was warm with a cool center. Boxed rigatoni, and overcooked. Its not that hard to cook pasta correctly. I have read many reviews that say the pasta is overcooked, so why haven’t they fixed it?
The wait staff was friendly but, slow, perhaps that is why the food had cooled?
Greg Vick
The food was excellent. My wife, kids and I all enjoyed our dishes. And the desserts ... Awesome! We will be back that I know.

And the service by Roberto was perfect. He was more than happy to meet all of my kids request.

Amazing!!!. Best Italian food I've ever had. I'd highly recommend.

Overall ok. Good prices. My tomatoes on the salad were overripe bitter an soft. The only dressing as raspberry vinaigrette. The rolls were a bit dry. A good meal for $7 though. Service was good.

Wonderful Little Taste of Italy. I just had the pleasure of dining at La Fontana of West Ashley & take this from someone who is not easily impressed, this place will grab your attention from the moment you you see the eye catching exterior... till the last bite of the most fantastic hand prepared tiramisu you have ever tasted. Our server Roberto could not have been more wonderful in providing an experience second to none. We had beautifully prepared veal that was paired with a wine suggested by Roberto. Wonderful. This place is a "must eat" in my book. The hostess', bartenders, & chef's, and the wonderful managers all make you feel like a part of the family at La Fontana. This is a hidden treat on the corner of Wappoo & 17 that is the best italian food here in Charleston. I look forward to visiting the locations in North Charleston & Mt Pleasant. All the best of luck to Chef Gary & his great staff.

Love It!. It was my first night in town, and the spot caught my eye as I was driving into town. The only thing that drew me in was my urbanspoon app pulled up the menu, and they made a lasagne with bechamel instead of ricotta. Sold!

I'm also a sucker for the Christmas lights that adorned the front, but figured it might be a really tacky American run restaurant with bad murals. The space was dark, warm, and most importantly crowded late on a Tuesday night. It wasn't just crowded with average locals, but two of the closest tables to me were speaking in European tounges.

As for the actual Lasagne, I just don't ever find restaurants that do it well, but when I'm away from home for a while, I hope to be surprised. This Lasagne was beyond amazing, full of thin noodles, bechamel, meat, and not laden with tomato. The only other American lasagne that I can remember liking was from famed restauranteur Keith McNally at Morandi in NYC, but I really liked La Fontana better.

New York style pizza is my big thing, and rarely I will find a family recipe that is interesting. This is one of those rare pizzas. The crust is a very crispy artisan one, that is cooked directly on a stone. Unique and impressive.

I was leaving late at night as things were winding down, and there was a still crowded dining room conversing after finished meals. I chose to exit through the narrower route by the bar where an Italian speaking couple was conversing. As I was passing, they both said "thank you", and I replied that it was one of the best lasagne that I have ever had in America. The man responded "That is because In here, you are in Italy". That sounds so gimmicky, but in this case it was the truth. Just a couple of months ago I was in Rome, and this dish put me back there. Absolute raves for these guys, Now I have to figure out how to move to Charleston.

Loved it!. Ate at the west ashey lication. Great selection of wine! They even offer wheat pasta. Nice portions for an affordable price. friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere. Owner is very nice & humble. Food was delicious. Definitely going back!!

Great food, and service. For all the people who wrote bad reviews you can always go get your freaking bread sticks and salad bar at olive garden and shoneys. And if you really want a pizza go to papa murphys and use your ebt stamps.
Don't let any of these bad reviews. Prevent you from going to la fontana.its a wonderful place.

Not at all impressed.. My husband and I were looking for an Italian restaurant to eat at in our area. In the past we have gone to Genaros, but they do not open until 4:30 pm so we decided to try La Fontanta's in North Charleston. I expected a small salad & bread sticks but got neither. As the food was coming out, we got some chopped up large cubes of a like french bread. (not very good at all). I love mushrooms but, I never thought I would get a dish that I thought had too many mushrooms on them. (until now that is) The gravy was very distasteful except for the mushroom overload. I was so looking forward to eating there but what a huge disappointment . My husband ate the Chicken Parm. and said it was okay, but agreed with me about it needing a small salad and some garlic sticks.
Our lunches were $17.95 each, but not worth it. Maybe a little salad or some good bread sticks may not have made me notice how bad the veal marsala was.
Next time I will wait until 4:30 and have dinner at Genaro's. Their food is true Italian & tastes great.

Terrible..... Bought a groupon for the North Charleston location. Worst Italian food ever. First off for the appetizer we ordered the calamari it was not seasoned at all worst calamari I have ever tasted. When i mentioned this to the manager the response i got was " well it's calamari" wtf??? so for the entree's I ordered the veal piccata it was okay the veal tasted a little old but it was decent. The waitress was a little misinformed about what exactly veal was because I heard her tell the table next to me that it was a calf weighing under 40lbs which is just not true. A peice of veal can weigh over 100 pounds and at minutes to days old it can weigh up to 60lbs. So I was a little put back with the misinformation. My friend ordered a seafood pasta dish and the seafood was so overdone it wasn't even edible. I didn't bother mentioning this to the manager as i suspect the response would have been 'well it's seafood" Will not return very disappointed.
Jason Murphy
Used a groupon and the food was great! Definitely a good Italian restaurant!

Great Experience and Authentic Cuisine. I am rather picky when it comes to Italian cuisine, but this place has never failed me. I went frequently to the old location with my neighbors on special occasions and I am so happy they are back in West Ashley. Even though this location is in a renovated Pizza Hut, the ambiance is lovely. Our waiter, Giovanni, was attentive and very personable. (He wandered about singing softly to himself in his native Italian). Being Pescatarian he helped me navigate the menu and offered many custom options. We asked if he was the owner, and he told us the owner was in the back cooking the food. The calamari appetizer was huge and more than enough for two, My date settled on the lasagna and I on the eggplant parmigiana which turned out to be a large portion which came with ziti. (I knew then I would be taking most of it home.) We noticed pizza on the menu and ordered a large "to go", for tomorrow and we shared a Tiramisu. Our total bill with iced teas came to about 70 dollars. We'll be back! Thank you Giovanni for a wonderful experience.
Michele Vetter
They Don't Care.... While the food was ok and the hostess seemed to care enough to tell the manager/owner, I was very disappointed that nobody from management came over to see if I was ok after I gashed my finger on their glass table that had a chip on it. We had been sitting at the table waiting for someone to be in sight to catch their attention to let them know what happened, but after 10 minutes of bleeding in the napkin I finally decided to go into the restroom to wash it off. At that point my husband had to approach the hostess to let her know what happened. It certainly sounded like the staff was having a great time in the kitchen while we were waiting for our food. Lots of laughter and noise. Anyway, we won't ever be returning to this restaurant.
Amber Richardson Huckabaa
Good food. Service was slow though. It was busy and they had a hard time keeping up.
Kristin Sikorski
The service was impeccable. The food was sooooo delicious. Karen, who waited on us suggested wonderful menu items. I would highly recommend the stuffed eggplant appetizer, the pizza and the lasagna. The atmosphere was perfect- small, perfect for romance or a family gathering. It was charming.
Mary B
First timer. As I walked through the entrance and smelled such fabulous auromas, I knew this was the right place to bring guests!
The singing chef, the owner making rounds, the attention...was all a welcoming.
We experienced the spaghetti and meatballs, lasagne, chicken marsalla and all were...fabulous.
I asked for an extra menu to have for the hotel I stay at and I know they will guide many guests here. I can';t wait until I visit again, the lunch specials look...awesome!
Tracey Lewis
Authentic & Delicious. It was a real pleasure to dine here. The Chicken Caprese and Chicken Marsalla were delicious. Where else can you go and be addressed as Senora during your dining experience. Giovani was a joy and took great care of us!

This place blows

Disappoint Seafood Specials. My husband and I have frequented La Fontana several times and enjoyed our dinner very much. However, last night we both ventured off the menu and ordered the 2 dinner specials (Lobster and Cheese Ravioli and the other, Fettuccini with Pesto Sauce and Scallops). We were very disappointed. In my Ravioli dish, I loved the sauce which was half tomato and half Alfredo but that was about it. The much anticipated Lobster in my Ravioli was nowhere to be found, as I did not notice or taste any lobster bits or chunks, only a cheese mixture. The Ravioli seemed small and sparse. My husband's dish was disappointing as well. The Pesto sauce on the Fettuccini was delicious but it stopped there. His much anticipated sea scallops were butterflied to give the appearance of more seafood. We both enjoy good food and do not mind spending good money for it but I have never been to any restaurant where we were served scallops sliced in half, hence they were over cooked. We will still go back, except next time, we will just stick to the menu- it's always proven to be great!
Kristen Maynard
I'm not sure why people were complaining about the service in other reviews, but the staff was excellent. They were present and attentive (and polite!) when we needed them and properly out of the way when we didn't. We had lunch here and I was skeptical, expecting something like olive garden, but it was anything but. It was quaint and authentic and the food was delicious. We look forward to trying their dinner menu.
Frood Critic
The decor was nice. The staff and the owners just stand around. It makes you feel like you are being rushed. The cesar salad was Brie average. It was lettuce and a non real dressing. The alfredo was ok but not as good as others like olive garden. The cost for two people was just about 70.00. Very high for a lack luster experience.
Dedradellis
Doris. Terrible! Service was bad. Prices were high. Lasagna was mushy and the sauce tasted like canned tomato paste. Stouffers makes better Italian food!
Jen
Surprised. I was a little skeptical about trying this place, but I was quite surprised when our food arrived. I had the Chicken Marsala and enjoyed it so much I cleaned my plate. My husband had spaghetti and meatballs, go figure, and he too cleaned his plate. We will go back again.
Rob S
Bad Night/Good Recovery. First time at this restaurant and had high expectations after hearing good things. Had the worst dinner in my life. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I ordered a Ribeye (med) covered in Marsala with a side of pasta Alfredo. Steak arrived and was welllllll done, so much so that I could barely cut it with the knife and it was a sorry piece of meat. I gave up and didn't eat. Wife liked her chicken picatta though. However, an amazing thing happened at the end of dinner! The waiter noticed how bad the steak was and didn't charge me a dime for my meal. He apologized and threw in a free Cannoli. If it hadn't been for that, I would have never stepped foot near this place again. The saying goes "it's not your mistakes in life but how you recover from those mistakes that matter". Well they recovered nicely and I will give them another shot (just won't order steak)

Great food! A True Authentic Italian Experience! Friendly and knowledgeable staff! I will be back for sure!

I am a local singer in Chas., and grew up here on Sullivan's Island. I am the daughter of an incredibly talented mother...Sugar Holt who unfortunately is in bad health but brought a lot of pleasure to many an ear for many years! I absolutely love this restaurant and on my way from the courts stop to eat lunch at least twice a week if not more. The authenticity of this food is over the top and I hope that at some point in the future I can sing here! The perfect formula for happiness "pasta and music!!!" I adore the food here....if you like Italian food you will love love love La Fontana! Bobbie Stormp
Amanda From Charleston SC
Great food and big portions! Had the lasagna and my husband had the fettucine paglia. Lasagna could have used a smudge more béchamel and the fettucine could have used a little extra cream sauce, but those are minor points. Service was FAST-- everyone in there was moving quickly, and our food started coming out as soon as we ordered. Prices are reasonable-- about the same as Carrabbas or a little cheaper. We'll be back!

I went here with my friend's grandpa, who is from Sicily. It was the best Italiam food I've ever eaten. Sure, it was a bit pricy. I won't be able to eat there every night, but their fetticinni Alfredo will definitely lure me back. I can't wait to try their cheese ravioli and their carbonara.

Best italian food I've ever had! Excellent service and authentic italian atmosphere!

Excellent Food. As usual, with everything Gary Langevine touches, La Fortuna offers very high quality foods. Great to have him back in West Ashley.

So glad La Fontana is back in West Ashley! The authentic Italian food, great service and wonderful atmosphere is even better than before! Love it!

Very tasty cuisine, good value, excellent and efficient service, and people who care running the place. I love to support good, locally owned restaurants, and I’m happy to see this one already doing so well.
