If it is your first time here (downtown location) and you think you've arrived at the wrong place, you're at the right place! Small place so it fills up quick and you need to make reservations ahead of time. Don't hesitate to book the patio. It is enclosed and has the most comfortable seats. If you get a seat at the bar, you get to watch the cooks do their thing and hear their stories - a lot of fun! Dessert looked like a brownie with a scoop of ice cream. Well disguised! It was so tasty. Menu changes every day so you probably won't get that but if you do, enjoy! Expensive but worth it.

Really lovely experience! The chefs were all characters and the food was so so good. A lot of stuff I’d never think to order myself but was such a pleasant surprise. Really great. Would recommend to anyone.

My husband and I ate at R. Kitchen twice on our honeymoon – it was that good! We loved the concept that the chef curates the menu everyday. The truffle mac-n-cheese we had one night was the best bite of food I've ever eaten. I honestly didn't know food could taste THAT good. We always recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Charleston. We can't wait to go back!

Would hands down recommend this to anyone visiting Charleston. Love the concept and the creativity it allows to have a new menu every day and the chefs clearly have fun with it. They’ve created a cozy atmosphere (tiny spot!) where diners get to experience it together.

A highlight of our time in Charleston. 5 course tasting menu that depends on what the chef feels like making that evening. We sat at the chef’s bar and were able to watch him finish and plate each dish. He describes what he made as he serves. A truly incredible food experience!

Small place where chefs cook different meals every night. Very talented chefs create amazing food. Five course meal made with love by the chef in front of you. A really fun and cozy place that feels like home.

Ten stars out of five really. Truly an experience with quite possibly the best meal I've ever had. Perfectly balanced, with portions to satisfy you and look forward to the next course.
The chefs walk you through each course, answer questions and are all friendly and enjoy chatting with the patrons.
It's a 12-guest limit (see the panoramic pic that shows the whole place); reservations required. A once in a lifetime culinary experience.

This place was AMAZING. It is reservation only, blind 5-course meal. There are 2 locations. The chefs that make each course come out and explain each plate you receive and they do give you chances to let them know dietary restrictions at the time you make the reservation and before they start your dining experience. 10000% recommend, we will be back for sure

We had an amazing dinner last night at R kitchen hosted by the amazing chefs Justin, alex and bro! My boyfriend LOVES cooking and he was enthralled with the interactive and engaging dining experience led by our host chefs. It was exciting to see what they were going to come up with next and everything was delicious!
