Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

Jeni’s ice cream has always been my favorite ice cream shop in downtown Charleston. I’ve always said that Jeni’s is quality cream and it really shows through in all of their flavors. The quality of ice cream here is unmatched and their unique flavors can’t be beat by any other ice cream place. Jeni’s can be a but pricey but I believe it’s because they use high quality ingredients. Even down to the tasting spoons which are metal and reusable- this entire place gives the impression of good quality ingredients and materials. My favorite flavors are Bramble Berry, Goat Cheese & Cherries, Cream Puff, Birthday Cake, and Darkest Chocolate. Really you can’t go wrong with any of the flavors there! They’re so great!

Hellooo!!! Visiting from miami beach, we have good gelato down there… After a bad taste at darling oyster (see review) we stopped by jenis splendid where we had good service and amazing gelato in a sugar cone. I had salty caramel and lavender. My dad had butter almond and chocolate. Just fantastic!!! Thanks a lot jenis splendid!!!

Jeni’s is good ice cream - better than average for sure. While I have better in various places across the country, this gets the job done! A little bit pricey in my opinion and the shop itself was a bit dirty and the employees didn’t seem happy. They were very nice though! Might just need some more attention from ownership/management overall. All that said, it’s excellent ice cream and the waffle cones are very good!

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream is a must-stop when you are visiting Charleston. Fresh ingredients + tempting combinations = delicious ice cream. You will stop once and then want to come back to try other flavors. And when they are making fresh waffle cones, the smell is intoxicating. The seating is limited, so keep that in mind.

Can I give this place a six stars? Seriously, some really intriguing flavors here. Just when I thought my days of skipping down the street while happily licking a cone were over! There was a biscuit flavor that was absolutely mind blowing on their waffle cone. It might sound weird, but it really works. Just ask for a sample. I was just visiting Charleston, but really happy to find out there's one in Scottsdale where I'm from. Never would have known. I'll see y'all in Scottsdale! -K

We visited on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t crowded at all! The staff was very friendly and let me try a variety of different flavors before choosing what I wanted to order! They have a variety of different flavors, including dairy free, that all tasted delicious and left all of us satisfied after a long day walking around King Street! I highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area because you will not be disappointed!
